Finished Platinum in Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Yes, I know that’s nothing to brag about, but it’s still a platinum nonetheless. It actually took a little bit of effort, more so than a Telltale platinum, but still very easy. And it it was enjoyable to get - seeing all the ways you can graffiti stuff was pretty funny.
That makes my 5th platinum this year, which was my goal for the year, so any in the last 4 months will be gravy.
As for the game, I’ll leave my impressions on the ‘completed games’ thread. Short version, thumbs up.

@Kidfried That SP trophy blows! As if you don't get the trophy for the lower level on a game like that?!

I think Raiden V does the same, but given that a standard play through is a little over an hour...

@KratosMD the problem with crime missions is their lack of variety. Like even the finishing animations become repetitive after so many of them. Especially those car chase animations. They should've cut crime missions in half and it would be so much better.

@Kidfried
I did play that one on my Vita. I didn't go for the final trophy though. Didn’t fancy revisiting all the levels to shave extra time off.

@johncalmc I’m curious what your playtime was to platinum Detroit. Haven’t played it but the game looks pretty massive in terms of trying to see everything.

@Th3solution If you want to see everything then it might take quite a while, but you don't need to see everything to get the platinum. You'll pretty much have to play the game twice - the first time will take around ten hours, the second time around six. There'll also be a few hours mopping up. I reckon it took me about 20-22 hours. If you use a guide the first time you play - I didn't - presumably you could do it faster.

@johncalmc Thanks for the info! I would like to try this game eventually. An achievable platinum is a nice plus and might move it up a couple notches on my list. But yeah, I sometimes use guides for games, but I would think this is the type of game that you wouldn’t want to use a guide for. At least not on a first run.

@Th3solution I also don't suggest using guide for the first time you play it. Just play and enjoy and then you can use a guide for that platinum if you want it.

@NecuVise When I played Heavy Rain and got “my” ending, I felt very satisfied with the experience and couldn’t bring myself to play again to see other possible outcomes. It was like I have created the story and to play it in any other way would be non-canonical. So I only ever did the one playthrough. I’m wondering if I will feel the same with Detroit. The addition of flowcharts seems like it would encourage multiple playthroughs more and make it easier to chart progress toward different outcomes. Similar to the Zero Escape games like 999 and Virtue’s Last Reward. Chasing the platinum was only one of the reasons I saw all the endings of VLR — part was because I honestly wanted to see everything because it was so interesting and part was because they made it easy to chart your progress through the use of a flowchart.

@Th3solution dunno about that, maybe it would be like that, who knows? I also feel the same for my ending in Detroit but I like it and its systems enough to play it for platinum. The execution was good and satisfying and that pulls me to play it again with a guide. I just feel like you would ruin your experience playing it with a guide for the first time.

@Th3solution It's a much easier platinum than Heavy Rain. There's only two trophies - aside from an easy collectibles one - that span the whole game and there's no trophy tied to getting a silly number of endings. I would think that if you play it without a guide you'd be fine as long as you don't make any silly choices. After I finished it I only had to replay a few chapters to get the best ending and then after a quick clean up of the random trophies it's a much quicker second playthrough because you can intentionally kill off a couple of characters to nearly half the length of the game.

PS the flowchart doesn't work as organically as the one in VLR sadly.

If anyone wants some easy trophies I highly recommend the Capcom Beat'em Collection. They are literally some of the easiest trophies you will get just just have to play the games that's it. The only thing though they don't have a Plantinum trophies which I find odd. Never seen that before. I am wondering if it's a bug or something.

@Tasuki I think some Indy games I've played from ps+ I've noticed don't have platinum trophies .

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
