Sorry, I had to make an account just to comment on this nonsense because it is exactly the point.
Microsoft, as you've quite rightly pointed out, have lots of money. LOTS more money than Sony. So they can afford to make a loss on Gamepass in the pursuit of users, whereby the can then in the future raise the price when they've either blown Sony out of the water or just built up a large enough user base.
Sony need the money from selling their games. That's how they make cash. They've just lost the best selling game on their console every year for the past ten years. Imagine how much exclusive content will go on Cod on Gamepass. It's going to slowly but surely kill them. Jim Ryan and his utter incompetence doesn't help, mind.
Gamepass is toxic. It's a great deal for gamers but awful for the industry.
