Re: God of War Wins IGN's Big Best Video Game of All Time Poll

Beasley2K

It's an absolutely phenomenal game. Sure, not everyone will think it's the best game EVER, but it's certainly one of the best I've played, and deserves to be up there. Awards like this will always be controversial, but you'll never have unanimous agreement and God of War is without a doubt a worthy winner.

If you want to have a laugh, go to an Xbox page and watch them having a meltdown. They really, REALLY don't like it 😂

@__jamiie Sony didn't do it because they didn't do it. End of. It's not a matter of whether they could have, because at the end of the day they didn't do it so it's a non-argument 😂 Yes, they're a company in this for profit. And they have made far less controversial businesses decision than Microsoft has, that are far more consumer friendly. And that's what I care about.

No, that's not what I'm saying. When the acquisition first happened Spencer said exclusivity will be on a case by case basis. Personally, I think the best option would have been for existing big franchises to stay multiplatform, whilst new and original franchises were exclusive to Microsoft to help promote Game Pass and benefit from exclusivity. That way, fans aren't having anything taken away from them and we get new games on Xbox so everybody wins.

Now stop being upset that someone on the internet has a different opinion to you that you don't like and accept that not everyone agrees with you, because it's frankly pathetic. Run along now boy!

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4

@__jamiie Microsoft shouldn't be taking away franchises from 50% of the fanbase in a shady business manoeuvre as opposed to making original games.

I'm not saying buying Bethesda per se is an issue. But they have tonnes of multiplatform games under their belt, and making them exclusive isolates the fans that made Bethesda big in the first place. As I've already said, I'm all for Microsoft using Bethesda to make brand new franchises exclusive to their ecosystem. But I am not a fan of buying out franchises to take away from gamers.

What PlayStation does doesn't "offend" me because they don't do the same thing. I already explained that they buy studios that generally make exclusive games. They haven't taken Xbox franchises away to make them exclusive to PlayStation. I would be just as critical if Sony bought Rockstar to make Grand Theft Auto exclusive, or bought Ubisoft for Assassin Creed.

And please stop perpetuating the ***** that Sony would have "done the same" if they could. The fact is that they didn't, there is no evidence that they had any plans to or even considered it. This is a completely baseless assumption and a fictitious argument. The only fact is that they didn't do it. But Microsoft did.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4

@__jamiie I never said Sony don't buy studios. Buying studios isn't an issue. My point is that they generally buy studios in their infancy, or who predominantly make exclusives anyway, rather than large established multiplatform developers to then stop those games from being created for other platforms.

Almost all of PlayStation's first party studios make games that were only ever on PlayStation. In contrast, with Microsoft's Bethesda acquisition, about half of their first party games will be multiplatform franchises that already existed and are being taken away from fans on other platforms.

If Microsoft use the acquisition to start creating brand new franchises that didn't exist before, then I'll be a lot more optimistic about the situation. For example if they bought them before Starfield was a thing and funded them to create this game from scratch, that would be good. But if they're just going to continue making Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, which they would have done anyway, and not let half the fanbase play them, that's an issue.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4

Beasley2K

@nessisonett It's actually completely different. Insomniac generally made exclusive games for PlayStation anyway, and all of their PlayStation games both before and after Sony bought them have been games that were never on Xbox anyway. In contrast, Starfield was already planned and was being made for PlayStation until Microsoft poached the publisher and cancelled it.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4

Beasley2K

This is a massive shame and a huge issue for gaming that fanboys either refuse to admit or are completely oblivious to. Microsoft have played no part in creating this game, and have simply paid money to take it away from other platforms rather than create original content from the ground up like PlayStation does. I have Xbox Game Pass so will be able to play it either way, but I'd rather Microsoft created new and original content rather than stealing games away from players. It's a sad reflection of their current poor state when it comes to exclusives, or the lack thereof.

Re: Leaked Document Reveals Xbox's Opinion of The Last of Us 2

Beasley2K

@Shepherd_Tallon I read that it would be a new way of forming exclusivity deals. At the moment, exclusives - particularly timed exclusives - are gained by paying the publishers a lump sum for, say, a year of exclusivity. It was thought that if Microsoft offered all publishers a greater revenue split across the board than what they would get on PlayStation or Nintendo, they would start to delay releases on rival platforms for a few months and release on Xbox first because they made more money from Xbox game sales and Microsoft wouldn't have to negotiate individual exclusivity deals. An interesting but weird approach, but at least it's better than poaching developers to take games away from fans like they've recently done...

Re: PS Plus May 2020 Reveal Has Been a Disaster, One of the Worst Received Months Ever

Beasley2K

It's a complete non-issue that absolute babies are crying about. Most people subscribe to Plus for online multiplayer - to those, the games are an additional bonus.

To people that subscribe to Plus mainly for the games, it works out about £2 per game with an annual subscription. And seeing as we recently got all four Uncharted games and Shadow of the Colossus, any complaints are absolutely pathetic.

If someone is really that upset, they're more than welcome to just cancel their subscription and stop playing. But not a single person will. If people want the newest and best games they can go out and pay for them like you're supposed to instead of whinging that they're not on Plus.

People are entitled to be upset at these lackluster entries. But not a single person an has a good reason to complain. It's a community of spoiled brats.

Re: Poll: How Will You Play Ghost of Tsushima?

Beasley2K

@nessisonett I'm not saying people won't play it with subtitles. I'm saying I don't believe as many people will as this poll suggests, and I bet most people that have said they will, will turn it off and switch back. I never claimed people don't understand Japanese, but most people that play this game won't.

Re: Poll: How Will You Play Ghost of Tsushima?

Beasley2K

Calling ***** on that many people playing the whole game in Japanese. The vast majority of players won't understand it and very few people will play the whole game with subtitles. It's a cool inclusion, but it's a novelty that most people will use very briefly or not at all.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Sequel Targeting 'Industry-Benchmark Graphics' on PS5

Beasley2K

Great news, I don't have a doubt that PS5 games will have superior graphics irrespective of console specs because PlayStation seem to be able to optimise their power more. To date, nothing on an Xbox console have ever compared to the best games on PlayStation.

However, my main concern is that this game stays exclusive. I don't trust them not to shaft us and port it to PC again. I'd rather have a game that's close to perfect visually and stays on PlayStation than one that has perfect graphics but jumps ship. It hurts the brand and needs to stay exclusive to PlayStation.
