@Arugula Interesting, Yara was also the only character I had empathy for.
She was relatable, maybe because the game didn't try too hard to make me feel some way about her, she was just real. There were too many tricks like "oh look, this character is sad/pregnant/rejected/lost/angry, they're not so bad you see, look at what they do at this point, you should like them", and so characters' decisions felt forced to make you feel a certain way. Even Ellie became insufferable, just because "look, we want you to feel torn between her and Abby at this point of the game".
If it works on you, the game becomes a masterpiece. Otherwise, it just becomes boring. That's why it's so divisive. Problem is, some people don't get that, they don't accept that it doesn't work on everyone.
@Col_McCafferty please bring up any comment where I "take a large dump" on something you like, or where I criticize you for having a different opinion. And by the way, I'd totally sign for a TLOU 3, this world has a lot of stories to tell.
@Gaming365247 Man please just stop now, you're obsessed. You just mentioned TLOU 4 times in 2 comments, yet I'm not even talking about this game in particular. The problem is not the game, it's you, that's it. You're the one who called people "idiots" or "so called gamers" because they weren't big fans of your game, don't play the victim here. Bring up any comment where I said that fans of TLOU 2 were anything bad. You can't, because you just made that up, and you're trying to copy-paste my arguments for some reason without thinking.
@Gaming365247 well "my" game is Demon's Souls, and it hasn't won, far from it. My second game is Nioh 2, and it's not even in the top 10. And guess what ? I'm okay with that, I don't feel the need to change people's minds about it.
I was just pointing the fact that he's once again trying to start the same thing as yesterday. At this point, I'll assume you're just trolls trying to argue for fun.
@Gaming365247 "Lol my game won", ooooookay so you must be younger than I expected, that explains a bit.
"Let go of the dislike", but people have the RIGHT to dislike things, you need to understand that. Don't tell me you love every game ever made. People have the RIGHT to have an opinion that's different than yours.
You call people idiots and you ask for respect, but it doesn't work like that. You're right, go play other games on PS5, and try to not insult those who don't like them.
@Gaming365247 well I haven't disrespected anyone and I haven't seen someone here telling you that you should not like the game. You on the other hand are asking people to not give their opinion if it's not the same as yours.
People should stop criticising the game and move on ? Well this very article said this : "Do you too think The Last of Us: Part II is the best PS5, PS4 game of 2020? Start the debate in the comments below." So, do you allow us to give our opinion please sir ?
You're ashamed of calling yourself a gamer because other gamers didn't like the same game as you ? Well you should stop gaming right now, because it'll always be the case, and you'll always stay ashamed and angry as you are right now.
@Gaming365247 what I see here is that people respect your opinion but you don't respect theirs, simple as that. You're attacking people because they didn't like something you like ? I'll let you think about what that looks like, and it's not good.
Demon's Souls is my GOTY, and maybe you didn't like it. And you know what ? That would be absolutely fine by me, I don't need validation from others and they're free to have a different opinion. But trying to dictate what others should think is not fine.
And apparently that applies to @Col_McCafferty too.
@fR_eeBritney I didn't really like the game but I think that Joel's fate was the best part of it, it worked very well. The tension during the first few hours was incredible, but it fell flat after that.
First third of the game was amazing, but then it started to drag a bit, then I got bored completely. Compared to the high stakes of the first one (possibly saving mankind), I never felt like I was doing something important, I was just running around for people I didn't care about, waiting for the plot to move forward. I forced myself to get to the end, but overall it was a disappointment and I found it too long for its own good.
Yet it's a game you have to experience at least once, because the overall quality is incredible. It didn't work for me but Naughty Dog pushed off the technical limits once again. I can't wait to see what they can do with the PS5.
My top 5 this year :
1. Demon's Souls
2. Nioh 2
3. Ghost of Tsushima
4. Final Fantasy VII Remake
5. Astro's Playroom
(6. The Last of Us Part II)
@Gaming365247 I'm already surprised FF7R is higher than GoT, now first place is undisputed.
Haha hate because I don't see TLOU 2 as the best game of all time ? I see its qualities but I see its flaws too, sorry mate. Everything is not all black or all white, and it seems the game tried to tell you that too.
I have a huge backlog and I like to discover new games all the time. Once I'm finished with a game I never go back to it (except racing games) so service games are the opposite of what I'm looking for.
I really thought Cyberpunk would easily be this year GOTY, but CD Projekt managed to mess that up. Maybe it'll be my 2021 GOTY with the next-gen version.
Now Demon's Souls get the top spot, and it's totally deserved.

Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2020
@Arugula I agree with every point here. A top 3 or different points awarded would probably work better.
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2020
@Gaming365247 Is this the comment where I disrespect people for having an opinion like you did ? Nope, try again.
@GamingVeteran Oops, I guess you tagged the wrong person mate.

@Col_McCafferty Funny how you're the first one to talk about TLOU in this article's comments. You're just imagining things mate.
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2020
Nice to see Astro up there, what a lovely game.
And to see a new IP winning players GOTY is really cool. Future looks bright.
Re: Hitman 3 Is on Top of the World in New Gameplay Footage
I have 100+ hours on the first two games, they're a lot of fun. Looking forward to this one !
@Gaming365247 Hitman 2 was a full game. Only the first one was in episodes.
Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II
@Texan_Survivor yes it's almost like they need our validation for their opinions.
@Gaming365247 yes PushSquare please lock comments because some people don't think like me, and they shouldn't be allowed to.
Gaming365247, more like Dictating365247.

@Gaming365247 Nobody insulted you, you did. You're 34, act more like it.
Happy New Year, take care.

When you see Nioh 2 and DOOM Eternal not making the cut, that means the year was pretty good. ^^

Re: Soapbox: Did You Enjoy Astro's Playroom? Don't Skip Astro Bot Rescue Mission
For me it's the best PSVR game, and one of the best platformers ever made. It is THAT good.
Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Astro's Playroom
Simply amazing ! This game brings so much joy and nostalgia and is a great demonstration of the controller capabilities.
Re: Game of the Year: Jade's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2020

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Hovers Around 720p on PS4, Drops As Low As 15FPS
