It's interesting to see them commit to keeping it multiplatform considering they are so far behind in the subscription service and trying desperately to retain users thru exclusives.
I'd bet money it has more to do with their back end services. Many folks don't know Sony uses MS Azure for a chunk of their subscription service. I'm sure they want to get away from that. Maybe Bungie's success after the Activision split was a deciding factor.
