@snowstorm2574 - I totally get the cycle of violence angle, and it was/is a very interesting story arc. That being said the act committed was beyond unforgivable, so after the midway point I still wanted what Ellie wanted and says in that original teaser to "kill every single last one of them". As you can imagine that colored the second half very differently for me. I understand there are two sides to every story, but they initial act that started everything was justified, the retribution was not. I still want Ellie's justice to be ultimate and final.
I'm a little torn on this one if I'm being honest. The first half of the game was great. I was captivated, I was motivated to help Ellie do everything she wanted. No complaints, but then it switched up at the halfway point. I respect the hell out of naughty dog for the risks thst took in story telling in the second half, but it didn't connect with me at all. I know they wanted me to feel empathy, but it had the opposite effect. It disconnected me almost fully, and that is when the far left talking points started coming with alarming regularity.
I'm still enjoying it don't get me wrong, and I'll finish it this weekend, and maybe again after that, but the original last of us was the gold standard as far as representation in gaming is concerned. The last quarter of this one is not. They really come at you HARD with the far left stuff. It's not really a deal breaker for me, but it really broke immersion and took it down a few pegs.
The first half was every bit the worthy successor to the original, but it does drop off. Not to say it's not great overallverall it's still a top 10 narrative of this gen for sure maybe top 5 really, probably top 3 narrative in action games, and coming off of FFVII Remake at least this story is coherent even if the world represented isn't representative of reality in some ways.
Because they don't have to. They are the industry leader and have been for almost 30 years. Not to mention that every Microsoft news dump triggers an equal or increased interest in the PS5.
They have nothing to gain from talking about the specs. They are better served talking about the games as they have been.
That's why they dominate. Games, not specs. Their focus is in the right place. The reason Microsoft is forced to talk about specs because they literally have nothing else to combat last of us 2,tsushima and others. So they make the same mistake that they did last gen thinking power is as important as games.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying The Last of Us 2?
I already paid for it months ago. So...yeah, I guess I'm getting it.
