My friend list is empty and I noticed that images in the psn store are taking a very long time to load. Multiplayer is working fine, downloading content working fine. I can chat with friends as long as they show up in my chat history and/or I manage to get to their profile via a menu besides the friend list (I.e. the "friends are playing this game" interface) Overall very strange behaviour...
Looking forward to the ps5 release. I already play the game on PC and mobile, the gacha aspect is one of better handled ones, the "limited" availability time of each banner is fairly long, giving an active player plenty of time to get enough currency to guarantee obtaining the featured character (5-star guaranteed within 70 draws, 2nd 5-star guaranteed to be fearured, so max of 140 draws needed). The game is for the most part very similar to genshin impact, however the combat feels much more fluid.
At the time of writing this, the ps4 remaster of the original game is 90% off on psn. I played this game quite a lot when I was young, but I barely remember much of it besides the start and the ending, lol.
@AndyKazama not just the same devs, I believe the sword and fairy series is a spin-off series of Xuan-Yuan sword and shares a lot of common elements with it. The gate of firmament was also a spin-off (or more like a sequel to a mainline game) so this will still be the first English release of a mainline game. Besides this as far as I know the only other game in the series to get a western release was Dream Of Mirror Online. "Xuan-Yuan sword 7 Online" was apparently planned but has been cancelled...
@Ichiban Yeah it has always been there, or at least it has always had an icon to show when someone is logged into a ps3, ps vita or mobile, I can't remember if it had an icon for the ps4 but I assume the new thing is that they added an icon for the ps5
The ps3 and ps4 both have the ability to award you themes and avatars when you get certain trophies, though it's rarely used (white knight Chronicles 2 is the only game know of that did it properly, horizon zero dawn and person 5 royal both award themes for specific trophies, but they're delivered via codes in emails rather than directly on the console)
@MrGawain an intern? There are people that have years and years of experience testing stuff like this... and it won't just be a case of booting every game once or twice but hundreds of times each and play-testing each one to check for errors.
There are a large number of games which are being released fairly soon yet haven't got pre-orders up on psn, some of these are fairly big releases and some are niche but it's unusual to see so few of them available, many are available for physical pre-orders only...
@Jaz007 maybe it is, but it could just be someone working around some rule of having something for sale before something else can be triggered (such as giving it for free via specific methods) only the people that listed it know the real reason and they're unlikely to share it.
Think of nascar where each car has to have sold 5 units for NORMAL ROADS before they can race....some normal customer has to buy a racecar to drive their daily commute before those cars can be entered into the race.... yes... really...odds are they pay $1m+ to park it in a garage for all eternity.... but that counts....
This is likely the same situation with the $99 price-tag being there so that no-one actually pays for it
There are several "premium" avatars that toy will receive a download code for via email if you get a platinum on their respective game. Horizon Zero Dawn and White Knight Chronicles are good examples of this, maybe this avatar was added to be a plat trophy reward but has to be available for sale for that to happen? By giving it a $99 price tag it still retains the exclusivity of the platinum trophies.
@indulgentgamer Yes exactly, at least that's one of the things this new law specifies they have to allow you to do. However it looks like Sony doesn't allow you to buy anything if you have the region set to anything besides where you live.... Maybe something they're still working on?
This is due to a new EU law that came into effect on the 3rd of December, in lawman's terms: if you sell anything online (physical or digital) to any EU country then you Must give your customers the option to purchase it as if they were living in any other given EU country. You also cannot automatically re-direct them to their countries' store page. In terms of PSN this means: A person from the UK can purchase the uk version of a game but can opt to pay the German price for it. Or someone from France can purchase a game that's only available in Spain. Full details: https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/new-eu-rules-e-commerce

There's quite a few games missing from this list:
And that's just off the top of my head...

Re: PS5 Introduces Accolades System to Encourage More Inclusive PSN Communities
Awesome idea but... I can envision many communities abusing it though, trading accolades, spamming them, etc.
