While Dragon Mines looks awesome, I'm gonna be honest about Retro Stadium. It looks flat(no pun intended) and disappointing to me. Switch(which will be me) and Xbox One owners of this game are really not missing out here.
@Matroska Dude, there are multiple claims that goes against what you are saying about Switch sales. A simple google search ain't that hard. As far as with Pokémon Let's Go, you are only talking about ONE region. It's true that sales are at an all-time low, but if you look at worldwide sales, it's already at 10 million units. And this is a game that was RIDDLED with controversy. And dude, their biggest game of the year is only a remake? With Super Mario Maker 2, Animal Crossing(yes, that is a big franchise), and Pokémon Gen 8 all in the SAME YEAR? PLEASE tell me you're joking. And don't bring up the Wii U situation, because that console was basically DOA. Everything, INCLUDING their big first-party games had all time low sales compared to their predecessors. Do you see the same thing happening with the Switch? No. The Switch has literally been breaking records since the day it came out. Like I said earlier, a simple google search is all you have to do. And finally with the whole Fire Emblem Three Houses looking terrible and how hardly anyone is excitied for it. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHINH YOU HEAR ON A GAMING FORUM. They said that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was not gonna sell. They said that no body cared about Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, and Super Mario Party. They said that SSBU was just a port of SSB4 and that it wasn't going to move units because people that wanted the game, they all already have one. They said that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looked like anime-weebo garbage and that this was gonna sell worse than Xenoblade Chronicles X. Look how that all turned out. They all(well, except for Pokémon Let's Go) had one of the highest sales in their respective franchises. And if a game like Yoshi's Crafted World(even though it hasn't came out yet), and Kirby Star Allies, two games that are part of a more niche crowd than Fire Emblem, can have big sales within their series, so can Fire Emblem: Three Houses. P.S: I hope you don't take this comment too personally. I'm only just bringing in facts that seems to get ignored most of the time. You don't seem like the type of person to troll so I hope we get along.
@themcnoisy I'm with you right here. I personally wish that they stop being so uptight when it comes to that issue and jump back to the "horsepower" scene. This is coming from someone who is a HUGE Nintendo and Sony fan.. And...well the less we say about their online service, the better. But I'm like you, I love the way Nintendo is; especially now with them being more aggressive as far as with exciting new ips, better than ever sequels to beloved franchises, beloved classics getting remakes, more third-party multiplats, and so on. So it's an amazing time to be an Sony and Nintendo gamer. Now getting back on topic, Microsoft NEEDS to step it up next gen. It looks like they are making the right calls by buying more studios, but like some of ya'll already said, we'll see if they can stand toe-to-toe with Sony and Nintendo. I know I've trashed Xbox like crazy, I'll admit that, but competition is important. I don't do all this console wars nonsense, so it's kind of disheartening when not everybody is nourishing in the console market. And this is coming from who couldn't care less about the games they offer in this day 'n age despite the fact that when I started gaming, I started out as a Xbox gamer with the OG Xbox.
@Matroska What are you talking about the Switch flagging in sales? Just because they lowered their sales forecast, doesn't mean they're falling behind. Don't spread misinformation. Also, you do realize they have a big lineup this year right?
Wow, talk about a mine field of a comment section. @DaweezMauiWowee you need to slow your roll man. There's no need to insult and troll with people you don't agree with.
@Ralizah Thanks. But still, can you believe that Nintendo was able to turn things around this much? It's like night and day when it comes to the present day of the Switch compared to the bleak, dark days of the Wii U.
@Adam47 Someone's salty. So just because you Smash Bros was boring(which is objectively wrong) you think they don't deserve the success? Talk about self-entitled.
@kyleforrester87 Before I respond to your comment, just want to apologize for responding so late. I'm just now back on this site. Anyway, I'm glad you and @frankmcma are enjoying this game. Even if most of us(including me), disliked what we played, don't let us discourage you from your enjoyment. We're all(I would ASSUME all of us) are just people that are stating our criticisms and disappointment.🙂
@frankmcma @kyleforrester87 You can't assume people are blindly hating just for the sake of it. There are LOADS of evidence to back up what people are experiencing. Just like I told @Tasuki you can enjoy the game, that's your right, but don't be generalizing.
EDIT: Although I will say that there some out there that are jumping on the bandwagon just for the sake of it.
@EVIL-C I appreciate the sentiment. It's not the matter of winning an argument. Just pointing out facts. ^_^ Oh and trust me, it's not just this site that does this. Our sister site(Nintendo life), plus a few other Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and even PC related fan sites have this as well.
@naruball Well of course it's irrelevant to mention the Switch when it's not getting those games. What PS_Nation is talking about is the matter of the product selling.
@PS_Nation What makes you think it's not? Doing way better than what the Xbox One did(globally) in the same time frame? I know this is a PlayStation website, but let's be honest here, what you and a few others have been saying how Switch is doomed or irrelevant is based on bias.
EDIT: Not trying to start anything. I just being real with you. This is coming from a PlayStation AND a Nintendo fan.
@Tasuki My apologies. It won't happen again. Also, who the HECK downvoted your comment? I have no idea who would, consider it's your job as a moderator to inform me of my mishaps with my language(even if I was speaking the truth). Like seriously, you're only doing your job. It's stupid and kind of baffling.
@get2sammyb True. But it seems like every attempt of trying to fix and alleviate the mess they cause has only backfired. As much as I bashed them, I have to say I honestly do feel a little bad for the developers. Because let's be honest here: most of the hate and backlash should be directed towards those corporate suits at Bethesda. I guarantee you that this cluster of a mess was because of their influence. Not that the developers aren't to blame though.
@get2sammyb I don't know about you Sam or anyone else, but I find this whole thing to be worse than the whole Diablo Immortal debacle. They just can't catch a break, huh?
@Tasuki More power to all of you. I personally hope you and your co-workers enjoy the game for what it is and have fun and laugh together. I'm positive you're not the only ones out here loving the game either. Just like how I enjoyed Pokémon Let's Go for what it was. And if all these forums and videos about how the game is trash really bugs you, then ignore them; don't pay them no mind. Don't let them or even us stop you from having your fun. We all have our own opinions at the end of the day. ^_^
@Tasuki Dude, NOBOBY IS SAYING YOU SHOULDN'T LIKE THIS GAME! The issue is how you went about saying how people is just blindly hating and crying because it's not the Fallout game they wanted.I mean don't get me wrong, you was right about the hate train being jumped on too early back when it was first announced. The same thing happened with Pokémon Let's Go. But here's the difference between the two. After reviews came in and fans bought it, their view of it for the most part changed. The only criticisms were that it was too easy and in some cases too shallow. But with Fallout 76, even after people started playing it, they saw how messy and broken this game was. In fact, go look at Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis of the game. It's that bad. Nobody at Giant Bomb wanted to review it. I have never seen a site where they was so put off that they didn't want to review it.
Like I and other people on here have said, you are free to like what you want. We are not trying to enforce this "hate" mindset that you call it, just only pointing out the reality of want is wrong with this game. You and some others might not see or even care about the problems and that's fine; more power to ya'll. But don't say that everyone is hating or exaggerating their anger when all the evidence is right there in front of you. P.S: Please don't treat this as a personal attack. I enjoy your comments and how you keep everyone here and on Nintendo Life in check. ^_^
@Tasuki You're just assuming that everyone that's complaining about this is just whining? Dude, fans and journalists EVERYWHERE have said how broken, unfinished, and glitchy this game is. These are not people just outright hating the game. There maybe some, but most people have been making the SAME legit arguments this past week that are still being said now. Like seriously, go watch a few playthroughs on YouTube. I'm not telling you how you should feel about your experience, you do you(I'm personally jealous that you encounter so little problems with this game, considering how buggy this game is), but you have to admit the anger and derision being thrown towards this game is deserved.
Does anyone else feel like this news with physical and digital is more like bitter sweet for Activision? I mean think about it. The lowest in physical sales, but the highest in digital sales. I don't know; if I was a representative of Activision, I will have mixed feelings about this. I mean you can point out that it came out much earlier than past Call of Duty games, but I don't know.
@KALofKRYPTON Unless a WHOLE lot of consumers buy this digitally, they are already hurting their sales factor by releasing this ON THE SAME DAY AS RDR2.
@get2sammyb Honestly Sam, I personally don't agree with you. People have since the first trailer dismissed this game and I don't feel like people are going to rush out to buy this. Plus, I think this(along with Battlefield V) will be the biggest disappointments in November.
@Wickedspades If your talking about the story, then I unfortunately have to agree with you. Not the worst in the world, but definitely a step down compared to Bayo 1. The combat and gameplay, however, is 2x better than the first one.
@Matroska You really think the casual audience won't eventually catch on to the Switch? This is not the Wii U era where even their first-party output was few and between Also, it seems that your only speaking from the UK's standpoint when you talk about the popularity of a system. You probably haven't been noticing that the Switch has broken records of sales ever since it was released on the market( well except for the UK, but performace and sales have significantly improved over the years https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-02-07-why-isnt-nintendo-switch-breaking-records-in-the-uk(forgive me if I can't hyperlink the website for you; I don't know how). Grant you, I do agree that they STIlL insist on making underpowered hardware is really frustration and baffling(this is mostly due to Nintendo of Japan's stubbornness), but you have to remember that most of the gaming community treat the Switch as a secondary console rather than a primary console of choice and there's nothing wrong with that. Nintendo always had catered to a different audience compared to Sony and Microsoft so if most of the PS4 and/or Xbox one gamers can have a Switch alongside their system, they will most likely still have their Switch when they move on to a PS5 and/or Xbox Scarlett.
P.S: Plus unlike their handhelds, Nintendo's consoles never had a mainline rpg Pokémon game, so a juggernaut like Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/ Let's Go Eevee will sell lots of systems( before you mention the controversy, let's be real for a second. This is a mainline Pokémon rpg( albeit casual and not core, but still),so the same thousands of people complaining are the same ones that's gonna buy the game anyways).
Edit: Never mind, it seems that it hyperlinks automatically, lol.
@Matroska I see your point a little, but do you really think is wise to just assume that the Switch will just fall flat on its face the minute PS5 and Xbox Scarlett comes out? It usually takes SUCCESSFUL consoles five or six years before they start slowing down in sales. And before you bring up the Wii U, remember that the system did terrible, EVEN through first year standards. Not to mention Nintendo's messaging of what the Wii U was wasn't clear at all. There were people that LITERALLY thought the system was an accessory or a peripheral to the Wii. Not to mention there were hardly anything and I mean ANYTHING for the Wii U for months whereas they have been releasing a game almost every month(not to mention the massive library and success of the indie games) Sure they don't have all the major third party AAA multiplatforms because of the lack of power of the Switch, but having those remasters, ports, first-party exlcusives on an monthly basis really helps it. P.S: I also argue that the third-party support is stronger than it ever was, even more so than the Wii era.
@Flaming_Kaiser Okay Hitman I will give you that, but those same people that say Pokemon Let's Go is trash is the same thousands/millions that's gonna buy the game anyways. Trust me, don't be surprised if that game is one of if not THE best selling game of this year.
Was anyone expecting FFVII Remake? Because I was and I'm kinda shocked that they didn't show that. Other than that and the lame reveal of Just Cause 4, I really liked the show. Definitely excited for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest XI, and Octopath Traveler. Plus, Babylon's Fall and The Quiet Man has me intrigued, but I will have to see more of them.

Re: Battlefield V Delayed to November for Gameplay 'Adjustments'
@Flaming_Kaiser Okay Hitman I will give you that, but those same people that say Pokemon Let's Go is trash is the same thousands/millions that's gonna buy the game anyways. Trust me, don't be surprised if that game is one of if not THE best selling game of this year.

@jdv95 You know for a second I thought I missed the Ubisoft conference.
Re: Talking Point: Did Square Enix's E3 2018 Press Conference Win Your Heart?
Was anyone expecting FFVII Remake? Because I was and I'm kinda shocked that they didn't show that. Other than that and the lame reveal of Just Cause 4, I really liked the show. Definitely excited for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest XI, and Octopath Traveler. Plus, Babylon's Fall and The Quiet Man has me intrigued, but I will have to see more of them.
