I unfortunately found myself as one of these blood thirsty gamers that would be disappointed if I didn't like the choice. That is until I went back over my collection. If I look at what I have paid for the service compared to what I have received in return, there is no question Sony has gone above and beyond what I originally expected.
@Gemuarto I'm waiting for Vita TV in the states as well. This announcement is yet another example of Sony being lost when it comes to the handheld department. Marketing for Vita behaves a lot like marketing for the Wii U. I don't understand how Sony can be so good pushing the PS4 and so bad at Vita.
Microsoft brought the games, but they did not bring it when it came to the system. That ultimately has hurt them. They were blindsided by the pricing, and the used game situation has left a bad taste in a lot of gamers mouths. Despite the games shown, they are in damage control mode. I guess basically what I am saying is that Sony did not as much win this thing as Microsoft lost it.
As much backlash as we have seen, I couldn't imagine even Microsoft being arrogant enough to go with always on-line and no used games. It would be the recipe for a monumental disaster.
TV Tuner? The last thing I want as a gamer is my wife taking up valuable hard drive space on my game machine to store the newest season of Vampire Diaries. Ugh! I am actually trying my best to get away from satellite/cable boxes so I do not care the least about that feature, and it is bound to add to the overall cost. I really do not care about. FaceTime takes care of me.
I understand what Microsoft is trying to do. They want to be this generation's Nintendo Wii. However, I don't think they will attract a different demographic. I think they'd do themselves a better service on concentrating on making more first party games. Let's face it. Every studio Sony owns is working on a PS4 game. That's a lot of exclusive content. They will both be getting the third party stuff.
I think one thing that needs to be mention from a company stand point concerning the PS4 is can Sony afford to launch the new system? They can't afford to sell these consoles at a loss like some have done in the past. Playstation sales of both hardware and software kept Sony from being worse than it really was. It was one of if not he only sections of the company up year over. I don't know if selling a system at a loss to gain an install base is something that is feasible. If they don't do that and come in trying to make a profit...well, we know what happened there.
Another thing to considered we the competitors. Wii U is not considered a next gen system. It is a mild step up. Third party developers can most likely create a game for the current gens that will port well with Wii U and vice versa. If you let Microsoft make the successor to 360. Will companies go with them if they are he only game in town? We know here is a learning curve ffom one generation to the next. Why not if I am a third party developer wait for Sony and Nintendo to make a move?
Am I off base with this think?
Sorry for the typos. I really am more intelligent than my fingers allow me to be.

Re: Unprecedented Number of Developers Working on PS4, PS3, and Vita
Has anyone else noticed that Microsoft probably should have not even shown up at E3 this year? Everything they said they have now changed.
Re: PS4 Offers 5.5GB GDDR5 RAM to Developers, But Don't Lose Your Mind
I just think that it's funny how everyone is making a huge fuss over it especially considering the capacity of the previous generation.

Re: Sony Is Not Working with Gaikai on Cloud Gaming
I was hoping for this for no other reason then playing Trackmania. I guess I'll just have to wait on this one.
