Missing "I can't afford it right now" answer
And i lost interest in beating FW. Open wordls are boring to me
@Tr3mm0r with a price tag of 20 bucks?
Not yet. My vacation starts on the 27th so I'm saving it for then. Did pre-order though so when I get back home from work on the 26th, it's all ready to go. Well, after finishing up some stuff in the base-game I never got around to, like that blinded Tenakth quest. Something to help me ease back into the gameplay.
@Reeneman I know right some people just don’t want buy a damn thing.
Been playing a bit today and absolutely love the direction of the main story so far. Such a beautiful game.
I'm thinking about it, sackboy adventures is irritating to play tbh
I'm about 3/4 way through forbidden west
Started it earlier. Will probably have to wait until the weekend to continue. I love the Horizon games, so I have no doubt I’ll love this too.
Until they give us an option to have Aloy to shut up as an accessibility setting, I will never play Forbidden West.
I was leaning towards holding off but now I'm jumping in. PS5 exclusive, seeing great reviews and still have a few weeks to beat it before Zelda hits. Should work out perfectly!
I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually, but I very much did not enjoy Forbidden West, so I'm in no hurry.
NG+ Forbidden West ATM. Hopefully grab Burning Shores next week. If I don't break and get the Final Fantasy Pixel Collection
Got a book to finish tonight, So saving Burning Shores for the weekend. Friday and Saturday night will be just me and Aloy, Can't wait to get back in there!
Playing it right now, took a day to play it.
Picked up HFW on ps extra. Graphics aside, it's one of the most aggressively average games I've ever played.
Busy with other games at the moment but I'll pick it up eventually. Had a blast the main game albeit it wasn't as good as the first one, imo.
I plan to start tonight. Very much looking forward to it!
@4kgk2 @Reeneman There’s still major economic issues in the world. The PS5’s a couple years old now and was a one time purchase, people’s financial situations have changed since then so it’s a bit much to judge them for not being able to afford something like this DLC which is a luxury.
hell yeah... Stayed up till 12AM EST to play it 😅
Loved everything I have played so far. Also one of the most stunning games in HDR I have played.
Only got forbidden west on ps4 so nah no dlc for me. Shame really as hzd was my game of the generation but nevermind. Couldn't play ff7r yuffie stuff either 😔
I beat HFW within a couple months of release and really enjoyed the 60ish hours I put into the game. It’s a solid 8/10 game for me, but not quite in the same league as the stellar God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima. If the Burning Shores DLC reviews well enough, I’ll be sure to pick it up and dive back in, but for the time being, I’m in no rush.
The problem is that i tried forbidden west AFTER elden ring.
horizon looks brainwhackingly good, but man... All those subquests, the fetching stuff, the ressource gathering for crafting, the busy map...i just cant do it anymore. at least not for a long while.
Absolutely playing it, can't think of another series that looks better and the world is so easy to get lost in.
I've been having a great time with it so far. Love Seyka!
@Nepp67 hahaha that really was a good one 🤣🤣
Nope. They didnt even try and showcase it adequately in my opinion. For me personally it's a huge red flag. And likely means it's more of the same and possibly phoned in. From little clips I watched online it looks exactly the same visually, structurally, and so on.
I totally get those that think more of the same is great. Yet I assure you, there are others that found Forbidden west to lost its steam under generic long used open world tropes very quickly.
While the allure of fighting a Few New Machines is enticing, I'd rather put that 29 toward something new down the line that isn't merely more of the same content just for the sake of more content.
There was just no hype, marketing, or attention really given to this release. I mean Twitter clips and a brief showcase of clouds?? Cmon now. Even great review scores may have made me pick it up, yet it seems they didn't even have the confidence in this to give review codes in an adequate fashion.
Elden Ring and Gran Turismo 7 killed my HFW playthrough, so I still need to go back and finish the main game (probably a restart at this point), but I did go ahead and buy Burning Shores. With all the bangers coming out I’ll probably get back to Horizon after Zelda and FFXVI assuming I don’t get sidetracked by something else in the backlog, which probably means delaying Spider-man 2. :-/
Nope still haven't played the main game yet..got it on day one played over next few days for about 5 hours ...deeply dissapointed...distinctly average game...I do plan to give it another crack at some point though.. hopefully it will fair better without the overhype I went in first time round and just take it for what it is
Reminds me of someone I dated for a while. Looked great and seemed like the next big thing but just reminded me how much fun could be had elsewhere.
@KundaliniRising333 maybe for once they just wanted to let people discover the new area's, npcs and mechanics for themselves!
I'm finding it quite refreshing to actually play something that hasn't been spoilt by loads of showcases and overlong trailers. And by now we all know what horizon is, we all have a pretty good idea that it's just an expansion of the world they created. Why does everything have to be shown to death?
I loved both games, so for £16 it's a no brainer for me! I trust them to deliver a quality product, and so far I'm extremely pleased. I'm guessing it's going to be 10 to 20 hours(longer than some full price games) so great value too.
You obviously didn't like forbidden west much anyway, so I'm not surprised this dlc holds little appeal for you.
@Serialsid I enjoy the core combat and th stunning world they crafted. I put over 100 hrs and 100% completion in it. What I didn't enjoy was the very formulaic open world tropes.
I even played it in exploration mode with minimal hud and anything else that I could do to reduce it's ubisoftification. It helped but the core design is based on those tropes.
To craft such an amazing open world I cannot applaud enough. It's that I felt they limited it all so greatly with linear climbing, collectible nonsense, and icon chasing, and all the other overused mechanics of the many games that had done it all before. It's an a 7.5/10 game for me because of the shortcomings it has for my tastes. Sounds like burning shores is the same.
Marketing doesn't have to be spoilers. Nor do sequels need to be so safe as to not even address area that need refinement or improvement.
We need to get past this idea that you can't offer criticisms or room for improvement for things you enjoy. It's a self defeating mindset.
@Johnnycide lmfao. So well put
Finished Horizon FW once last year when it was launched.
And now I'm deep in a sort of "Horizon Marathon".
A few weeks ago I finished my 3rd playthrough in Horizon ZD(on PC this time).
And started an 2nd trek through Forbidden West a few days ago.
Preordered the Burning Shores DLC but I'll play it after I finish the main game, so I can have a continuity in the story.
Btw, I discovered by accident that the Burning Shores was hinted at in a scroll found in eastern Spinebreak in Forbidden West. It was written by Gildun, a character from the Frozen Wilds DLC

And mentions his trek from the Frozen Wilds all the way to the Burning Shores... easy to make the connection that Burning Shores will be a DLC location, just like Frozen Wilds was.
I'm curious if Gildun will actually be there, as one of the NPC's, that'd be grand!
I'm sure this piece of info was found before by others, but I didn't know about its existence until I found it myself yesterday.
Superbly done by the devs!
I'm currently finishing HFW Platinum and it's a really beautiful game, I would give it 10/10 in graphics and I'm playing it on performance mode! That said they put too much junk in it, it makes me sigh everytime I have to look at all the icons in the map.
Will start later tonight!! Everything installed and ready!! Many new trophies to hunt!
So far, so good!
Does anyone know a good travel agent?
@KundaliniRising333 nothing to do with criticism of the game. You said they didn't showcase it enough for you so it was a red flag! I'm just saying in my opinion they didn't need to. It's more of the same with a new story. You either want to play more in the horizon world or you don't.
And for just £16 it's a bargain in today's gaming landscape.
@Serialsid yeah I hear ya on that. It's a value for sure if you want more of the same. I guess no need to market more of the same either.
@KundaliniRising333 not wanting to spoil anything for anyone in the comments section, I'll just say I've been very impressed with what I've played so far. Nothing ground breaking, but not phoned in either.
Really enjoying it so far!
@StylesT so you only played 5 hours over the span of a few days? No wonder you can’t get into it lmao I can’t imagine playing any story only 5 hours over a few days.. that’s like saying “oh I didn’t like the movie, I watched a total of 45 minutes of it over 3 days.. too boring”
@WolfyTn Some of us have a life ..playing an hour or 2 a day over 3 days really is pretty standards for people who have work and responsibilities:)
I'm still taking my time through RE4 Remake so I'll see if I can play it before Tears of the Kingdom releases.
Just waiting for pay day, then it's mine
@AgentMantis I would argue that it's too dense and busy to be as good looking as it thinks it is. Fidelity wise it's incredible, but it's so unnecessarily cluttered and dense that it ends up looking muddy and unreadable half the time.
So far I’m loving it. Graphics are insane but then they were already 👌. I’ve managed a total of 40 minutes so far. Roll on my 4 off 😎
@Nepp67 they fixed whatever problem ya'll had with aloy talking a long time ago. you would know that if you actually played the game
@KundaliniRising333 why is it that you feel the need to writhe a long, negative and edgy comment about everything dude XD its a dlc not a sequel of course its going to be more of the same, and its 19.99 not 29
@Johnnycide sure buddy
@LordBakemono Every single time you can find @KundaliniRising333 being negative about everything. I wonder if anybody can impress him at all in his daily life...but hey you do you can't tell you how to comment.
I'm playing it*
*I finished re-installing the game and the DLC just as I was leaving the house to go watch Renfield so it's on the docket.
Renfield was Big Dumb Fun if anyone was interested.
I'm on the fence. Loved HZD, but barely tolerated HFW. Actually had to force myself to finish it. I thought the story was pretty awful. At the very least it ratcheted up the crazy to an extreme level when it wasn't necessary. The gameplay was good and it looked great but not sure I want to invest anymore in this sequel and even less excited about a third installment. Maybe if a deep discount comes I'd think about it.
I'm finishing Death Stranding in order to get the platinum... this is the next one aiming for the platinum, I stopped because of the unbearable grinding for components to upgrade armour and weapons, after 100000 tries to get apex parts every night running all around the map I've given up, I hope that they've fixed that...
I'm still trying to get through Call of the Mountain on PSVR2. Only problem is I can play for an hour max before the motion sickness sets in.
Gorilla are incredible with their technical wizardry, I mean just look at this game. Where they fall short is gameplay and game design as the game loop just isn't that great.
Nah, I wanna read the reviews first. FW was 8/10 for me and I want to find out if it’d be worth it for me or not to get it. Besides, I picked up that Pixel Remasters Bundle today.
@Terry12 agreed, well put.
@Tr3mm0r Serious question how do you have a PS5 but can't afford a 19.99 DLC?
I love the Horizon series, it's one of my all-time favourites, but I wish this expansion had released earlier in the month. I've been waiting so long to play Advance Wars and it finally comes out tomorrow. After that it's a coin toss between Burning Shores and Tears of the Kingdom!
Its a beautiful game to look at, but, the story was very predictable and it under delivered hard for me vs the first one.
So hard pass.
Cheap sale job. I was sick of Aloy about halfway through Forbidden West. Gutted really because I loved her in Zero Dawn.
I'm enjoying it so far. Feels less of a period drama which Horizon tends to feel like.
At least a lot of people here completed it. 👍
I won't get it as I don't have the game at all.
I lost interest in this series. The 1st one on PS4 couldn't catch me, so I didn't want to play Forbidden West.
Well, same goes for the new God of War games.
@middyone No they didn't, they said they only reduced how much she talks about the storage. Also thanks captain obvious, I wonder why I haven't played the game yet, could be possible that I did not buy it like I said lol
@StylesT I have a life too lol 2 kids, a wife of 13 years, and full time career.. I’m just antisocial so u may have a point if ur a people person
@Nepp67 storage? what are you even on about? how would you even know if they fixed it or not? I am the one actually playing the game so I know better than you...they fixed it. play it or don't play...I couldn't care less just know you're missing out big time.
@RemembersGems she's even better in forbidden west...nothing to worry about. I guarantee you if you like her in the first game you'll like her here. she's a better character here imo. the loud minority is well loud but most people love forbidden west trust me.
Just started Burning Shores. Enjoying it. It’s beautiful. The story is beautiful. So far easily worth $20 but dang I need to play some smaller games this year. Zelda is up next. Gulp.
Oh and There are clearly some bugs to work out. Seyka got stuck/frozen at one point and I had to reset. Camera mode sometimes doesn’t let me move the camera.
@middyone Because there was an update that I saw specifically talking about bringing down how much she talks about her stash genius. This wasn't me intentionally trying to find it because I go on this site a lot. I do not care to play the game until they fix it and from the sounds of it they have not.
I only talked to Sylens to start the DLC, but I’m just so sad Lance Reddick passed away. He was an extraordinary actor and a good part of Horizon’s plot/success. Loved his character. It’s going to be rough not having him in the “finale”.
@Nepp67 if you saw they brought it down her talking about stash...what are you even talking about? you make no sense whatsoever. what part of they have fixed it to you not understand...if you don't want to play the game just say that. don't make up weird excuses. I tell you as somebody who has spent 200 hrs in game that they have...you tell me they haven't as somebody who hasn't played it at all. smh stop spreading false info.
Played for about 90 minutes. Kind of bummed once you start the dlc they won't let you back to the main map, I have 1 outpost and 1 camp left.
Also bummed they raised the level cap to 60 but I'm still at 50, was hoping those 25 hours I've played since reaching 50 would have been calculated in so I'd be up to 55 or so by now.
Looks about the same to me as the base game. I still haven't gotten to the lava yet, just Fleet's End, but it's the same. Of course I haven't been able to see the new clouds up close yet since they killed my ride.
It is what it is, more Horizon, I'll have to wait until it's over to decide if it was worth it.
Oh I am really bummed about no tall neck. How does Horizon have a new map area and no new tall neck?
Just finishing up a second playthrough of TLOU2 and then i'll be on it.
I beat the base game and loved it but I have moved on now, similar to Frozen Wilds the DLC comes out too late for me to want to go back.
Absolutely love Seyka already she's awesome ^__^
It’s nice to return to this amazing game with this dlc. They both worth every cent spent, even purchased without any discounts.
No, burned out on the main game a little less than halfway through and at this point just don't see myself revisiting it. But this does seem like a more substantial expansion than Frozen Wilds was for the first game and I thought that was a great DLC so I'm sure this will be even better for fans of Forbidden West.
I just haven’t got around to Forbidden West (or God of War), I do want to play it. I just need to stop replaying huge games!
I'll play Forbidden West + this at some point. Either when/if I get a PS5, or when/if it comes to PC. Whichever happens first.
@GreatAuk Yup. Building my very own house atm so i don't want to spend anything on things i can be fine without.
I'm going to buy this as soon as I get the RE4 platinum (1 playthrough left!)
I would be playing it if it were on PS4.
Currently, this DLC is literally the only game I wish I had a PS5 for, and I'm not buying a new system just for some DLC, no matter how much I like Horizon.
Not yet, but I want to play it. First I need to play thru and beat Forbidden West.
I'm kind of interested, it looks beautiful of course, but I know the dialogue is going to bore me to tears. Sooo wordy and slow and po faced
