It's been roughly one week since the launch of Phantom Liberty — the big expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red's RPG is in a better position than it ever has been: the DLC's been a hit with critics and fans, while the accompanying Update 2.0 has significantly improved the gameplay and flow of the base game. It feels like Night City's been reborn (again!), and that's impressive given the title's undeniable shortcomings when it first released several years ago.
But talking purely in terms of the expansion, we awarded it an 'excellent' 9/10 in our glowing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty PS5 review. "Phantom Liberty is often Cyberpunk 2077 at its very best," we wrote. "A gripping narrative complete with great characters adds another dimension to the open world RPG, while the main mission and side quest design remains top notch throughout. It's a tremendous expansion that delivers a truly memorable experience." Indeed, we're still thinking about it!
As always, though, we're here to find out what you think. Give Phantom Liberty your own review score in our poll, and then regale us with your tales of Dogtown in the comments section below.

I'm still working through it but so far it's been really excellent. CDPR really knows how to make great, compelling DLC for sure.
My only gripe I've had with it just be the awkward platforming section in the beginning but thankfully it's short and after that it's just a great time.
Cyberpunk will never be the 11-out-of-10 game of the decade we hoped for, but it's a hell of a lot better than Starfield.
I gave it a 9, despite not being able to play it at the moment.
Anyone else hit a bug on the mission “You Know My Name”? I get on the sniper rifle and then the game tells me to scan several things, but it won’t let me do it, which means I’m unable to continue.
First time playing 2.0 ... CDPR really turns the tide 🌊.....
10/10 for me, between the 2.0 update and PL the game is pretty incredible now.
Sometimes I think comment section people live in an alternative reality from me…
10, the dlc is outstanding with some of the best missions I've played in some time, You Know My Name being a personal favourite. Its a shame that Cyberpunk has only now realised its potential as support for it ends.
My only minor gripe with the dlc is not being able to use that face mask more, like you can in those missions
Does anyone know if the base game is worth trying now, if I didn’t enjoy it at launch?
The main thing that bothered me was repeated NPCs - like three of the same on screen at a time (I know, a small thing, but it killed immersion for me).
I’ll likely try it anyway, but I’m just curious as to what you all think - base, or jump to DLC?
Look at the clowns giving it a 1
The game is excellent on all fronts. Cyberpunk is easily one of the best RPGs on the market, and the DLC just goes to show that CDPR are the kings of expansions. I know this is seems like hyperbole, but this game is fantastic; 2.0 really overhauled the game in a brilliant way.
It would be my GOTY had it came out this year in this shape.
I have not played PL but man this 2.0 update has changed my outlook from being pissed and disappointed about cyberpunk to being satisfied while still being sort of disappointed about a couple things. One of them being the netrunning itself and the dialogue choices not having enough impact. I hope in CP2078 that netrunning is much, much more fleshed out because all it feels like is if I'm just playing a fps shooter with magic instead of actually hacking into the network to gain new info or hack system to get software or destroy it and everything connected to it.
I haven't been able to play it for since Friday as all my saves are corrupted due to the bug on PS5 so can't complete anything as of yet.
Very disappointed is an understatement.
Afraid to touch it cause of the save file bug. Waiting till 2.01 drops. Finally started CyberPunk last week and I'm having a blast but still a lot buggier than I expected.
I'll tell you when the complete edition is released fully patched. 🤪
Story was brilliant however all endings were bad even the good one where V lives because V can't use combat implants so could never be a mercenary anymore coupled with the fact her love interest leaving you gets married or has no time for you leaving V a nameless face in the crowd the end result would be V may as well put a gun to her/his head and pull the trigger CDPR should have at least let V reunite with their love interest leave NC and at least live happily ever after at least the original ending gives you that ebmven it is only for a short time
I thought it was great so an 8/10. I have enjoyed other recent launches more but this dlc and the 2.0 is far better than the game I refunded in 2020. Hopefully they can build on this for the next installment.
@tweaknmod I highly recommend giving it a go. I was turned off when it released for many of the same reasons. So much so that I put it down until last month.
2.0 fixes a lot of immersion breaking issues for me. There's still the occasional bug but the game is in great shape now.
I got the corrupted save bug so I am unable to proceed. Fortunately I still have a good save in my PSN Cloud, hopefuly they will release 2.01 soon so I can download that save and continue.
@VaultGuy415 it wouldn't be better than Starfield if Starfield was released on your Playstation though would it 🙄
It's pretty great, but the relic points are a little annoying as the main indicator you're getting near to one is sound, which isn't great if you have poor hearing, and I wish there was more of a visual cue. Maybe I'm missing something, but at least the drop points have a smoke signal.
@Ricky197344 the idea with all the endings is that there is no happy ending for anyone in night city. I think the new ending stays true to that.
@Bentleyma I just played this section last night. Make sure you're zooming in on the sniper rifle, look around, and you should find things that you can scan. I think you have to be zoomed in to scan.
Would be the game of the year for me if the game had launched in this condition in 2023. I think it's one of the best games of this generation and possibly one of the best games ever made. It's absolutely fantastic!
BTW, I'm playing on Very Hard now and its Very Hard mode is probably the best implementation of a higher difficulty level that I've ever seen. Would definitely recommend trying it!
@gipsojo Yeah, my game bugged. The new update sorted it.
@Cookiecadet Lol I paid $99 for early access Starfield on my 3080ti rig. The game is a huge disappointment, particularly the bland writing.
For the record, I love Fallout 4. Hopefully DLC and a hardcore mode can fix some of Starfield's issues.
@huntbearpig Thanks for replying!
I actually got it last week, and I’ve been loving it!!!
It’s got its flaws, but that’s true of everything really.
