We've spent all year whining about the weather, and now it's officially too hot. Fortunately, rain is forecast for the weekend, so it's sure to cool down quick. Yours truly may just go and lie on the pavement, and let the cool water wash over.

I've been itching for some turn based Japanese RPG action, so the arrival of PS Plus Premium here in Europe is well timed. That's right, I'm exploring the dusty wastelands of Wild Arms this weekend — a game that I can barely remember playing many, many years ago. Still a classic!
Stephen Tailby, Associate Editor
PS Plus Premium went and launched at a very busy time, so my attention is being pulled in a few directions. First and foremost, I'll be taking F1 22 for a test drive, with a review coming soon. Elsewhere, I have a second game to review, but I'm also keen to crack on with a couple of PS1 games, like Ape Escape and Toy Story 2 (a true classic).

Nothing has really grabbed me since I burnt out on Final Fantasy XIII, so I’m looking for that to change this weekend. I'm downloading Fortnite for some casual fun, and then I've also got Shadow Warrior 3, Sniper Elite 5, and Trek to Yomi all lined up.
Annette Magaña, Reviewer
I'll be swinging back and forward in time to finish Spider-Man: Edge of Time and possibly start The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. It’s good to be back!
Christian Kobza, Reviewer
Having spent the past week snagging the Platinum Trophies for four of the five PS1 Classics to get Trophy support, I'll be burning some time this weekend trudging through the Trophies for the last one on the list: Wild Arms.
Graham Banas, Reviewer
A few friends and I are gonna give Roller Champions a few spins to see if it's worth keeping the download around. Could be fun! In addition to that, though, I've still got those PS5 ports of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 eating up some hard drive space and I've been itching to play 2 again, so this weekend might finally be that time!

While surfing PS4's UK PS Store, I counted 37 games listed in the new PS Plus Classics Catalogue section covering PSP, PS1 and PS2 titles, so I was chuffed to see that I can already download 11 of these retro games due to my historical purchases, before I've even spent a penny upgrading my PS Plus.
With the new PS Plus now available worldwide, we're confident many of you have significantly added to your backlog this week. But instead of us making assumptions, be sure to tell us in the comments section below.

I’m still working through my backlog, and concentrating on some older games that I never got around to playing at release.
I started the incredible Resident Evil 2 (PS5) for the first time a few days back, and should have it wrapped up today. Once that’s done, I’m rather excited to start Red Dead Redemption 2 and hopefully have it finished before I go on holiday in the middle of next month. Oh and if I have time, I’ll also give the new Gran Turismo 7 update a quick once over!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
On the switch il be yet again playing xenoblade chronicles 2 which I don't think il complete in time for number 3, there's just so much side quests and blade quests that it's starting to drag. Il also be playing some monster hunter rise and hopefully my copy of fire emblem warriors three hopes comes today.
On PS5 il hopefully complete Scarlet Nexus so then I can fully concentrate on trails of cold steel 1 and hopefully get it done before the new digimon game comes out at the end of July.
Jumping between a bit of Detroit Become Human and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge
Finally tried Returnal & Demon souls due to premium, didn't like either and deleted both so maybe stroke death stranding off the list of games I won't like next
Call of Cthulhu... amazing, the entire game is based on my username and profile picture. I'm overwhelmed...
A deceptively hard game called Aggelos. Map is useless and working off memory. A nice open world 2d side scroller though
Been stuck in doors isolating with Covid for the whole week so in that time I've just been playing Xenoblade 2 finishing all the side quest, affinity charts and extra bosses which I've made slow progress with and will carry on over the weekend working on. I've also been playing a bit of Xenogears on the side hoping to get that done before Xenoblade 3 releases. That being said I hope I get some time to fit Wild Arms in. I tried it out after the new Plus subscription launched and enjoyed what I played of it. There's a lot I want to get done before Xenoblade 3 releases which probably won't all be done.
I played PS4 games in the morning. 😊
1. Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions
2. Dreamworks Dragons: Dawn of New Riders
3. Kitaria Fables
And then I played XBOX 360 games in the afternoon.
1. Dr. Kawashima's: Body and Brain Exercises
2. Kinect Adventures
3. Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE
Continuing my time with GOT island of Iki, Cozy Grove and some Stardew Valley. I also bought Ghostwire Tokyo and looking forward to starting that at some point.
Trying to finally finish Far Cry 6...a good game but a box ticking slog but enjoyed the trophy hunt. But could never ever play it again
Will plough on through more Grid Legends a superb racer now with added destruction Derby!
I've downloaded a few PS Plus games so will peruse the full catalogue
Have a great weekend guys ❤❤
@UltimateOtaku91 Scarlet Nexus was such a great game. The first I completed on a PS5. It's worth playing with both characters too !
Onto ghost of tsushima finally as its on the new ps plus and I'm loving it so far! Throwing a bit of ape escape in every now and then
Plenty of Returnal coop and some Wonderful 101 remastered. Have a good weekend all!
@PenguinLtd - Make sure to take advantage of rallying. Bloodborne uses a rally system that returns lost health. If you attack when you get hit you regain a portion of the health you lose. It can help reduce burning through your heals unnecessarily.
Downloaded RDR2 off Extra. First time I'd played it since I traded it in years ago
My God, nearly four years on the controls are even worse than I remembered. Like wading through treacle comes to mind. Deleted that poo as fast as I could.
Now playing Returnal.
Focusing on actually finishing my 2nd run of AC Odyssey this time round. I'm enjoying it, I always say RDR2 ruined that game for me. There's a lot of interesting adventure and moral choices to be made in there but it's quite overlooked in comparison to say TW3 because there's no Wild Hunt or Ubisoft release too many games. I think the Wild Hunt are some of the coolest villains in video game history that played a large part in making Witcher 3 what it is today. That said, I popped in in Beauclaire a bit and had a good laugh playing that mission Geralt gets tossed up and down at the bank just trying to make a withdrawal, classic game.
Ys VIII thanks to the new PSplus.
@PenguinLtd It's all about the atmosphere in Bloodborne, that's what made it so popular, it's the top hats, the overly tall enemies, the screaming beasts...only problem right now compared to Elden Ring is the repetitiveness in grinding due to the linearity. The fact that you can go anywhere to grind is what sets ER apart from the rest.
Finished The Quarry. Overall very good but I think the Police station chapter might kill replays. Very slow chapter that brings the pace to a screeching halt.
Also tried Toy Story 2 (PS1 Classic) and it was not good. I enjoyed this when I played it on the tiny Vita screen a few years ago but on the PS5 (and a huge TV screen) it looks and plays absolutely awful. The stuttering frame rate, the graphics and sound… gave me a headache after 10 minutes.
Cyberpunk completed last weekend (really good game, Johnny Silverhand is a legend!) so needed a new 'main' and decided time to scare myself silly with Resi 8.
Actually it's not that scary, more like the recent IT films in horror as blockbuster entertainment. It has its moments for sure (albeit I'm not far into it) but it's certainly not quite as intense as say Resi 2 remake or 7. It's absolutely beautiful though, Castle Dimitrescu interiors especially. I could definitely live in that place...if it wasn't for the scary vampire ladies, or maybe that would be the main draw.
😉
More of the wonderful GT 7 and wonder if I may start one of the games on Extra, something different like Deliver Us The Moon. Really spoilt for choice at present!
Enjoy yourselves and stay safe, it's a crazy world out there.
Edit - Actually on second thoughts, going to give Observation a go instead. It's a game I've been particularly curious about since it's release.
I want to finish the Yuffie missions on hard mode in FF VII R, but I've started Wolfenstein The new Order on Plus. I'm kind of hooked
Finished the story of Fist of the North star. But as usual with RGG games Im doing some post game content, side stories mini games and getting a few trophies. Not going for the plat since it has a difficulty one and I skip those., but I'm not done with the game yet, still a lot of fun. Since this will be more of a side game now I'm going to start Spiderman which I have yet to play.
On my Xbox im playing Dq 11, what an absolutely brilliant game. The art style, combat, music and gameplay are all so wonderfully done. And somehow it is very relaxing to play since it feels pretty light hearted. I can totally see why it gets so much praise

Looking to finish off farcry 6, been a great return to form for the series. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game
While I’m waiting for GHOSTWIRE: Tokyo to show up in the mail, I’ve decided to go back and play the RESISTANCE series on my PS3. I’m about 1/5 of the way through Fall Of Man. I hardly remember any of it so I’m very much enjoying it despite it being 16 years old at this point. The controls are counterintuitive to today’s scheme and I’ve had to dial the look sensitivity down a bit but I’m really quite enjoying it!
@gingerfrog I just platinumed the game and did all of the DLC myself just a day ago. I agree it was a great return to form. Probably my second favorite of them all behind FC3.
Just completed Traingle Strategy on switch after 40 hours brilliant game. Completed Sniper Elite 5 and Trek To Yomi. Im now going back to Kaito Files, Horizon, Dying Light 2. I got Outriders Worldslayer, AI the Somnium Files 2 and Live a Live on pre order
Amongst other thing downloaded GoT from Extra, tried it out last night and am quite enjoying it so I'll likely be playing that for what little time I have this weekend
Enjoy!
Started playing The Outer Worlds again. Very decent game with plenty of that classic Obsidian wit. Also plenty of Cyberpunk 2077 and AI: The Somniam Files
Weekend started yesterday here with the Saint Jhon holyday. I'm playing Horizon Forbidden West, advanced further in the main story and the revelations keep giving. Assassin's Creed Black Flag, great game! Can't see why some people says it doesn't feels like an AC. We see so many assassins and templars... I plan to do more missions in Cyberpunk 2077, already got one ending, work the rest. Good weekend my fellow gamers!!
Starting Resident Evil 2 Remake for the first time! Happy gaming everyone!
Been playing Sonic Origins, Shredder's Revenge and Final Vendetta. Feels like I've gone back to the 90s...
Ys IX & AI: The Somnium Files for me this weekend.
Trying Shadow Warrior 3 since it's leaving PS+ soon. It's no Doom but still fun.
This weekend I’m playing a few different things. First up:
Diablo III (Xbox Series X) - I just reached Act II at level 40 on hard difficulty, and sometimes switching it to expert. The moment to moment gameplay is so satisfying. The game encourages player agency each time due to its randomly generated map and quest system. I’ve heard people knock on this game due to its story, but I find it quite serviceable and compelling. I really can’t wait for Diablo IV.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge (PS5). I’m chipping away at the Platinum trophy. I just got the trophy for the 250-hit combo without being touched (I did it legitimately, too, which was a pain), so now I need three more trophies. This game is absolutely excellent. Each character feels unique and are fun to learn, but Casey Jones is the best behind Michaelangelo. I would love to see the developer tackle an X-Men beat-‘em-up some day.
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes (Nintendo Switch) - I haven’t touched my Switch in months, but this game intrigued me. I’m a fan of Musou games dating back to Dynasty Warriors 2, and particularly 4, in which I used to play cooperatively with my best friend on the PS2 for hours a day during summer vacation.
Neon White (Nintendo Switch) - I started the game last night and it is absolutely incredible. I haven’t been able to put it down. Before I knew it, four hours had gone by. Everything about this game is so well done. The writing and characters are goofy; the controls are tight and responsive; the soundtrack is fantastic; and overall the game is incredibly addicting. I haven’t played a game like this before, and it’s very special. In fact, it might be my GOTY so far.
MAIN - Ni No Kuni II (it's such a nice, chill and straightforward JRPG. leveling up and "grinding" doesn't feel like a chore)
SIDE - TMNT Shredder's Revenge & Tetris Effect
Debating whether to spend the cash to upgrade to Extra or Premium. Certainly lots on the Extra tier I'd like to play. Less so for Premium but the price difference isn't huge and I suspect it will become more compelling over time.
Besides that nearing the end of FF7R now. There's a lot to like about the game, but the movement is quite clunky - especially when trying to line up with a switch or what have you. There's also a crazy amount of filler. The characters and combat really pull you through though. Also been playing FF6 on my Vita.
Started Sekiro and getting my ass handed to me. So far it’s been fun so I’m sure I’m going to stick at it and hopefully at least finish it.
Also the co-op Returnal with @Kairu was an awesome excuse to go back to the game. It’s soooo good. Now I just need to get faster at GT7.
Death's door for me this weekend thoroughly enjoying the design, gameplay and concept
Despite not really fancying Returnal when it was released I gave it a go as its on the new Plus. Turns out dying repeatedly and wasting hours with out any progress is about as fun as it sounds.
More Assassin's Creed Origins this weekend.
Heavy rain it's better than the quarry
@KilloWertz I hate the assassins creed games they are all the same bloated, boring & repetitive
Getting stuck in wild arms and shooting stuff in shadow warrior 3. I might start grid legends when sw3 is plattied.
@EverydayRobot yeah that game is terrible I bought it last year & then got rid of it. How do people enjoy it? It's repetitive & frustrating
Upgraded the PS Plus and have ended up playing Bee Simulator, of all things, with my youngest. Might try and squeeze in some more Salt and Sacrifice later, when not watching Glastonbury on the telly
@Ryany Thanks. That's good to know.
I get why some people don't like them, but I love them.
Only one game this week and probably for the next month or so:
Monster Hunter Rise
330 hours I have now spent on this remarkable game and I am so so close to getting 100% achievements. I originally thought that I had no chance of doing this before Sunbreak expansion comes out next week because anyone who's played Monster Hunter World would know about the arduous task of getting all the large and small crowns of EVERY single monster in the game, basically the largest or smallest version of a monster so the closest thing I can relate this to is Pokemon shiny hunting, except harder because there are no definite terms to tell whether the monster size is the one you're looking for. Doesn't help that they removed the size of the monster in the quest completion screen that was in World in Rise.
But nonetheless, I have prevailed and after spending about 100 hours of solely crown hunting in the last month I have achieved this feat! All that is left for me to do is complete 50 arena quests and 50 rampage quests, which are the new addition in Rise and are a tower defence type hunt, only issue with them is they can take upwards of 20 minutes for these quests and aren't fun unless you are playing with other hunters. I have about 5 left of each, so this goal of all achievements before the expansion comes is alive and real.
Only other achievement left after that is a JRPG staple, being to catch every type of fish in the game, which is a laid back and simple achievement to finish with. Gotta say, after migrating mainly to PC this year I'm surprised my trophy hunting habit hasn't gone away in the slightest and will be my 8th game I get 100% achievements for this year. I really hope that one day I could earn Playstation trophies on steam, would be really cool! Well, as always, happy gaming and have a good week.😊😊😊
@Ryany Yeah it's definetly not for me. Made me question why I enjoy gaming at all to be honest haha.
After playing a few short games over the past couple of weeks I'm diving into Divinity Original Sin 2. Absolutely crazy how many branching paths that game can take.
Weathers crap surprise, surprise so no golf therefore i'm trying returnal and its pretty cool so far and wrc10 which is pretty nice too..any how i'm going to maximise my gaming time this weekend so have a good one everybody..👍
@Ryany you’re in for a treat. Great game!
Just more Cyberpunk 2077 which has now become one of the all time best games I've ever played. I'll probably drink some beers too as it's unbearably hot right now.
Capcom Fighting Collection and maybe a little bit of WWE 2K22.
Picked up Elite Dangerous for $1.44 after credits, and it's interesting. Also loaded up ST:Online for the first time in forever, decided to try the Klingon story, and fun so far! So, probably a bit between those two.
My game of choice at the moment is Dusk Diver. I might also start the PS5 version of Skyrim later.
Still playing Ghost of Tushima and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Might take a peek at Assissin's Creed Valhalla and some of the smaller PS+ Premium games. Where do I buy more time to play?
Halfway through my second playthrough of The Quarry which I'm still enjoying. But Until Dawn I played through about 5 times and I definitely don't see that happening with this game unfortunately.
Over 80 hours into the fantastic Dying Light 2.Still have main missions to complete but I'm pretty much done with everything else.
Been thinking hard about whether I'm going to upgrade and decided I'll give it a go,can always revert back of I don't like it.First game I want to try is Spiderman Miles Morales. And I suppose i may d/l RDR2 but I can't see myself finishing it before it gets pulled..
Have a good weekend all!
PS5
1. Replaying the Fractured But Whole
2. Finally playing Death Stranding thanks to PS Plus Premium
3. I’m gonna start up Guardians of the Galaxy and see how it plays. Once again thanks to PS Plus Premium.
Switch
1. Bravely Default 2
Also I’m playing the occasional Destruction Allstars match.
Probably more of the fantastic gt7 ,as we get a new brilliant circuit this wk with watkins glen and other add ons to the game ,maybe if I get time some more of the incredible red dead redemption 2 I personally think its the best game I've ever played , but I haven't played elden ring and other games that are said to be right up there so it's all good though ,happy gaming everyone
Well, I finally started played the Quarry this past week, so that… hopefully… I miss playing games regularly a lot at this point. You don’t realize how much the hobby is a part of your life ‘til you don’t have the opportunity to play anymore. I doubt I’ll have a chance to play anything else, but I can dream!
I'm playing Chorus and Deliver the Moon. As a means to chill between Hellfest live YouTube broadcasts; the old punks are still very lively lol
Lost in Random and Guilty Gear Strive are my games for the weekend.
Want to give a shout-out to Neoncloud87 who messaged me over PSN last night to let me know that players like myself make him want to delete the game(Guilty Gear) 😂. I'm a zoner for my sins, he was playing as Anji and funny thing is I had my butt handed to me by 2 other Anji players earlier that night. Love when people get upset over a game!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Addicted to gt7 on PS5. Also Alan wake remastered but it's kind of... Boring...
Finished Cyberpunk last weekend so started Mafia Remaster and it’s not catching me. Never done a New Game + before but might finally dive into it with Ghost of Tsushima since that is my fave open world I’ve ever played.
Also slowly playing through Shredder’s Revenge which is a lot of fun. Want to pace myself so I don’t get burnt out on it too quick.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Finished my friend Pedro earlier today going and am about 30 minutes into celeste so far it’s pretty fun
My weekend has been spent navigating my way around my new PS5! I unexpectedly got my hands on it earlier this week when one of my local stores managed to get four of them packaged with H:FW on pre-order and I just happened to walk in at the right time.
I wasn't planning on getting a PS5 for another year or two due to being content with my Pro but I decided to bite the bullet while I can still make a decent sum selling off my OG PS4 on eBay which had been my secondary unit in the other room.
So far I'm very impressed with the Dualsense controller. It definitely feels premium and I'm loving the haptic feedback. Astro's Playroom has been an absolute joy to play and a real nostalgia trip! The short load times are also most welcome. Missing the quick menu, themes and folders from the PS4, though!
@astro911 glad you managed to find a PS5. Yes, Astro is a lovely little game. I sure hope the make another fully fledged game. HFW is also really good. Takes a couple of hours to really get going tho imo. Had mine for a while now and i still cant het used to hold ps button to go to home screen, press it to bring the bottom tab up. Feels like it ahould be the other way around for me 😂.
Been blasting throught turtles this weekend chasing the platinum. Just got to lvl up the characters now.
Gearing myself up to continue resi 2. Ive done ok up until now but i know im almost up to Mr X making his appearance and stalking me around the RPD and i dont know if i can take that 😂
Its bizzare, but me and my wife are really missing the days of guitar hero! We always assumed there would be such titles on our latest machines, but sadly, it looks like the age of guitar hero has long gone.
Having played Motorstrom Appocalypse from the new psplus via streaming, it reminded me I still have my lovely old full fat PS3, the one with lovely silver detailing and full ps2 /ps1 back compatability. Its been sitting in a carrier bag since I got ps4.
So the PS3 is now back on the shelf next to the PS5 and looks like it should never have gone. I now have disc access to all generations of ps games via the two machines, great!
A quick trawl through ebay and i have a whole bunch of guitar hero goodies on their way, and motorstorm games. Ps3 games are mainly extremely cheap.
So thank you psn classics, you're so underwhelming that you've forced me to do it propely! Meanwhile, my series x is hidden in the corner, but handles all back generations of xbox with ease. But its playstation that have the pedigree and all the best old titles and thats what really counts.....
I've been in a really sociable mood of late but I'm also effectively trapped in my town by bus and train strikes so I've been mostly playing Lost Ark and... Fallout 76 with friends... Man, FO76 is so much better than it was at launch and is a hoot with chums even if it is still a typical Bethesda mess.
Checking out some of the new PS+ games on PS5. Balan Wonderland and Bloodstained Ritual of the night, both of which I've liked so far. Also, gave Wonderful 101 a try, which I've already deleted, didn't like it. Had a bit of a clear out at home, traded in Wii and DS console and games, first game I've bought with the credit is Stranger in Paradise FF Origins. Bought the Xbox version, thought I'll get some use out of it, would like to say I would be playing that, but decided to download Series X upgrade, it's so slow, 6 hours later it stands at 30%, I was under the impression Xbox downloads were fast, not for me it isn't.
Taking a break from my third platinum play through of FF7R. I’ll be trying AI: Somnium Files (the first one) tonight. Pretty excited to give it a go!
@freddquadros I finally platinumed Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood earlier today! It was a hard plat but glad it's over with lol.
Currently playing AC Revelations, I'm about to start Sequence 2 Memory 1: A Warm Welcome.
Btw I'm glad you're enjoying Black Flag! I'm seriously looking forward to that one, always been a big lover of Pirates.
@gamiller1978 Im not sure why, but sadly my series x also takes quite a long time to download anything - its slower than the ps5 and they are both hardwired into the same router.
Im supposed to be a tech guy, but i cant see where Im losing speed 😂.
@KidBoruto I enjoyed Revelations a lot, even more than Brotherhood. The gameplay evolution is palpable. And the story is thrilling!!
AC Black Flag is delicious to play!! You will love it, I played for the entire afternoon yesterday!! You will love AC III to, I'm sure of it, and Blac Flag carry on all the better parts! And don't believe in people who say "Black Flag" doesn't feel like an AC. it's Assassin's Creed through and through, in every way.
Oh, and congrats for the plat in Brotherhood!!
@freddquadros I'm gonna be honest not loving all of the extra skills they introduced into Revelations, nor how my HUD looks...but hopefully they will grow on me like Brotherhood did after being used to AC2 lol.
AC3 does look cool, being able to play thru the American revolution, and the possibility of meeting iconic people from that history period.
Thanks! Brotherhood's plat was honestly hella harder than AC2's but worth it. I could have done without those annoying Leonardo missions though.
