Topic: Can't add funds to wallet

Has anyone else had issues with adding funds to their PS4 wallet? I've tried via app (which doesn't even let you add funds anymore), pc, and console. Everytime I go to add funds I get the error "An error accord, please try later". It's the same credit card I've been using for years, there's no issues on my credit card end, and Playstation chat was useless. They told me it was my credit card's fault, but my credit card company says there's no issues on their end. So now my renewals no longer automatically go through for PS+ nor can I add funds for in game purchases. Now i have to go buy PS cards at the market every dang time. I'm also unable to add/use a paypal account because it says it's already connected, but it doesn't allow me to use it to add funds.

Anyone experience this? If so, any work arounds or ideas how to fix this?

@JapaneseSonic It's been several months now, maybe even a year. there are no issues on my end, credit card is totally fine. It's been incredibly annoying because there are times when i want to add money and going to the market to buy a prepaid card is not convenient.

So all this time that you guys have had this problem, mine has been perfectly fine. Until today anyway. Now I have this problem and nobody with PS can or will help! Anybody have any updated info?

I'm having this issue too. In the past, I'd receive an error message, but then after I log back in with my password, it would work. However, now, I can't get it to work at all. I chatted with Sony and they could not determine the issue (according to them, they didn't have an issue on their end). Would love to get this resolved so I can add funds to my wallet so my son can purchase things.

@SSJ_Kevid -you will have to purchase the prepaid cards now and load them. Make sure that you have funds there when the rebels need to be done! After this happened with mine, two days later the Visa Fraud Services office called me and there was an attempted charge for almost $400 on my card for Sony Entertainment, Inc. For a booking fee. WTH is the booking fee for? What do they book? Hell if I know but what I do know is it was fraudulent for sure! They then cancelled my card and I had to get a new card for my account! Be careful with this mess. I almost wonder if there isn’t a group of hackers that are putting some kind of block or sequel that changes the numbers when they are submitted so they won’t go through! Then when people have this issue and they can’t get any help from Sony, they end up feeling helpless and the charge goes through before they know about it and since they already called and documented that they can’t use the card with the PS, how do they prove that this charge that went through is fraudulent????? That is the only possibility that even makes sense to me. I mean how else can Sony not be ably too tell anybody what the issue is when there is clearly something causing an issue that they cannot see and it’s not an issue with my credit card!

I'm having the same issue. I've added funds to the wallet countless times and have been using the same credit cards on the account but for several months now I can't add $. Nor can I contact anyone outside of the chat bot, which doesn't have the necessary fixes.

I was having the same issue. Here's what worked for me :

1. Go to Payment Management and remove card.
2. Re-enter the card info.

After that i was able to add funds with no problems. This can also help if you have an expired card. Old info on the system not updating properly.

I had the same issue. I changed the way the address was formatted on the credit card and that seemed to help. Not sure if it was related or just worked for another reason

I HAVE A SOLUTION! Turns out the issue is actually HOW this is done. Someone at Sony informed me that the best way to add funds is THROUGH THE ACTUAL PLAYSTATION. Sounds like it's a known issue when trying to do so via an external browser (computer, phone, etc.) as those devices do not directly communicate with the server. Using the actual Playstation to add funds solves this issue. I've only tried once so far, but it worked first try, no problem. Hope it works for you all, as well!
