So everyone’s been trying to get the “editions” button back:
If you don’t have it here is probably your problem:
You bought the game after December 2019 either digitally or on disc.
This is why it’s not working:
There are save files that generate which is why it doesn’t detect that your account is purchased a before December 2019 (because it isn’t)
This new account and disc process will give you a normal editions button, but not for your primary account- but this fix gets it to your primary account at least temporarily! Until more investigate
I have a fix for us! But it’s not all the way fixed...
So here are the steps:
First, you need SaveWizard, it is a purchasable program for $60
2nd: create a new psn account and perform the usual steps and get the button to appear.
Next: go into the PS4 edition, and then back out back into the new Minecraft (do not skip this, this will create a fourth save file)
Next, go to your main account and copy over any ordinary save to usb
Copy all the saves from the new account you made (4 with no worlds) and copy them to usb
Go to save wizard and plug in the usb, go to the save you made on your primary account, and right click and press “register profile” after you’ve completed that go over to the saves that you created on your new account, right click and press “resign”. Do this to all 4 of your saves so they are now registered to your profile
Note: when it asks you to delete the over save, check the box
Next, plug your usb back in and delete Minecraft, put the creeper disc back in and don’t launch the game once. When the update file is completed, disconnect from the internet and go to “application saved data management” in the PS4 settings, and copy over your saves back onto your profile. Then restart your PS4 (still disconnected from internet) and
load up Minecraft and you will see that your “editions” button is now there.
Reconnect to the internet and DO NOT CLOSE APPLICATION and go back in and you can get the mini game trophies
ISSUES AND WHERE I NEED HELP:
When you reconnect back to internet, and load up the editions button and try to go back to new Minecraft, the editions button will disappear.
Everytime it disappears you need to disconnect from internet, copy the save files back over and overwrite them and then restart your entire PS4 again and launch the app disconnected and then when it is running, connect again.
I need to get it to not disappear now that I can get it to load because of the new account save we resigned.
Hello! I really want to try and help you figure this out! It seems like once you connect to WiFi, something is triggered to make it disappear. We just need to find out what is triggering it.
I would also love to figure this out. Whole method doesn’t work on PS5 either. It’s clearly something in that save game that just needs to be changed. You have discord or something? @CrystalBlaze
Okay yes get it and send your username#number name and I’ll add it, it’ll just be much easier to communicate because I barely check this site. @CrystalBlaze
Would your main account have to have owned legacy/editions before? Also, anyone who did the old new account and disc process, do they lose their button? @Adry123
I totally get your frustration with the missing "editions" button in Minecraft on PS4. It can be super annoying when things don't work the way they should. Thanks for sharing your fix, even though it seems a bit complicated. I'm sure it will be helpful for others dealing with the same problem. By the way, have you heard about https://modbay.org/ ? It's a great resource for taking your Minecraft experience to the next level.
Do you need Save Wizard MAX for this fix or does the cheaper online version work?
By the way, if you're available on Discord I'd be greatly interested in discussing the full details of this technique so it can be put up on YouTube to make it a more viable and well known way to get the Button back with videos, links etc. @Adry123
