Topic: PSN Account Trouble

I tried to login to my PSN account after months of not playing any PS4, but I couldn't get in after inputting my email and password. At first I thought I had just forgotten my password and wanted to recover/change it but I didn't receive any email from Sony. When looking for it I found an old unread email, the latest email I got from Sony, saying this (paraphrasing since it's in french):

You've received this email because your Sony Entertainment Network account's login ID (email address) was changed. If you did not change your login ID, contact customer support here: https://www.playstation.com/support

I'm confident I've never even attempted to change my account ID, so my only guess was that my account was stolen during my inactivity. Trouble is I couldn't contact customer support; the automated customer service is very limited and couldn't do anything with my issue, for one.

When I tried to contact their support chat, after I input my account ID just to start a convo I'm told my account is banned and I automatically get blocked from the chat and booted to an empty web page.

The only thing I haven't tried to do is call customer support but calling to the US from where I'm from is ridiculously expensive and it might not even be worth it. Is there anything I could do, or should I just give up?
