@get2sammyb: I hope not. If it follows the same design and layout principals of Nintendo Life, I would be very disappointed!! If there was an alternative Playstation site, I would honestly consider moving across to them as Nintendo Life is one of the worst gaming websites I have had the misfortune to try and navigate!!
I know that may convince you to push ahead to get rid of me but its a mess and reminds me of n4g in its design - another site I only visit if some news crops up in a search.
Of course a website is more than just the aesthetic design - such as the staff that put it together and the community that frequent it. Nintendo Life though is a mess - even simple things like the comments section of a news article looks so messy with all these links to a dozen or so other articles.
I hope that PushSquare learns from the many mistakes that Nintendo Life has made!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@get2sammyb: Well, i hope you guys like plummiting numbers because i think i and people like bamozzy wouldn't visit you guys anymore... Shame really, just to look artsy or just ripp off the horrible design of n4g... Look at this http://n4g.com/.. It reminds me of the horrible windows 8 design
@get2sammyb: That's good to know. I just feel that without the forum feed it makes the forums seem less important then the articles. While the articles are important and a bigger part of the site, I as well as I am sure others feel that the forums are just as important. After all its how our viewers can let us know what's on their minds.

@get2sammyb: Change isn't always scary - it can be exciting too - look at new generational consoles, VR etc. However some changes can be detrimental or made just for the sake of making a change. Not all changes are for the better. There is also a motto of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.
Nintendo Life, not only being a mess, also borrows heavily from Microsoft (tiles) as well as trying to look hip and cool with 'trending' options but comes across assomething aimed for kids rather than a serious place for news and additional ways of clickbait with multiple links to artcles etc everywhere! Not only that, its also increased the number of ads disguised as articles slotted in with all the other 'relevant' tiles - Another reason to ensure Ad-block is permanently on although you do end up with a checkerboard tile look with white gaps everywhere! 1-2 ads are acceptable but no way do I want to see them as frequent as they are on NL. No way will I turn off ad-block if they are so in your face as they are on that site and I will recommend eberyone else use an ad-blocker too! It speaks of selling out and whilst I appreciate running a site like this must have overheads, I am willing to accept, I am not willing to put up with the implementation that both NL and n4g employ. However if that is the only way to sort out the news from the ads at a quick glance and avoid accidental clicks so be it.
I very much doubt you would be happy if Sony adopted the Microsoft tile style layout for its dashboard and included multiple ads inbetween your relevant tiles with links everywhere to stuff you are not interested in, transformed its simple yet straight forward and clean design to a mess of boxes all over the screen - would you? I think most of the PS Community would be very critical of Sony if the copied MS on this!

@BAMozzy: Sadly though I would have to disagree with your choice of add block. As annoying as those ads are it's how the site pays for itself. So it is a necessary thing. Yeah I know people have said oh they wouldn't mind a fee but honestly I think that's a bad idea. Maybe something along the lines of a Pateron (not sure if that's spelled right) might be a solution. But that's something I can't say if it's viable or not.

@Tasuki: I have no issue with the odd advert or the way Darksiders is currently being implemented on PushSquare but what I object to is where they are made to look like an article in style and size, in the main body and are numerous in number. In a standard Tile grid for example, sites like N4G use the same size Tile linking to the news article as they do for an ad and these ads are also in the main body too
for example, if 0 represents an article and A represents an Ad,
0 0 A 0
A 0 0 0
0 A 0 0
Whilst ads are a necessary evil of todays commercial culture and therefore understand their necessity to the continuation of sites like PushSquare, I do not appreciate them occupying the same 'space' and size as the reason I came to the site in the first place. As I said I have no issue with the way Darksiders is currently advertised as its not in the main body and whilst it does occupy more space, the fact its a 'background' makes it far less obtrusive. Ads should not appear in the main body and certainly shouldn't have the same 'value' (size, placement etc) as the reason we visit but should be more peripheral and if someone wants to click, more deliberate. The tile format makes it so easy to accidentally click on these in error as they are mixed in with all the articles.
Point I am making is that there is a way to do adverts that is more acceptable than others. It of course could be irrelevant as Sammy has stated the design is bespoke - hopefully taking design cues from Sony and keeping ads yo the more peripheral edges.
I have no issue with turning an ad-block off for sites that are well designed and keep adverts to right size and placement but I also have no qualms about turning it on either or finding my news from the plethora of other sites covering gaming if access was denied as a result of using an ad-blocker.
I certainly am not adverse to change but I also know not all change is for the better. Some changes can really enhance an experience whilst others can make a great experience into a frustrating and poor one. Time will tell which direction PushSquare goes...
