hi after not playing FFXIII-2 for quite a while i decided to try and finish the game but to my horror i can't get it to work at all i can no longer load a save or even create a new save after starting a new game all i keep getting is "error code 80030001" when ever i get to the main menu

the game has now become unplayable does anyone know how to fix this problem and is anyone else having this problem?

it's current update is 1.06 and i have heard that this update may be the problem but even if i try playing it with out any updates it still wont work

i have also tried deleting all data and re-installing, and even booting up the PS3 safe mode to repair any corrupted data i may have on the HDD now i just don't know what to do

Try using the recovery mode:

1. Turn off Playstation®3.

2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.

3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps

4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.

5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button

6. The Recovery menu will pop up

back up your save and use option 3

Back up your saves first just in case, it shouldn't wipe anything

3.Restore File System (Restores the PS3's File system aka firmware data)

Then do option 4

just installing updates and games over time is just causes the system to lose information where everything is, those 2 steps are kind of like defragging your computer they re-organize the file system and help the system out.

I actually recommend doing it once every 2-3 months just to keep everything in order as a sort of maintenance to perform on your system.
