Topic: Ace Combat 7

All things AC7 here!

Sadly I probably won't be picking up on launch day as it's going to be a birthday present - and that weekend will be spent on the sauce watching rugby!

Anyway. I watched the Namco Bandai livestream last night. The game looks excellent and I'm certainly looking forward to it even more!

Hopefully I'll even feel the urge to dip in to multiplayer and blow some of you out of the sky!

Anyone here getting at launch?

This is the only game this year I will buy out of the gate. The hidden E3 trailer (watched it on the Pushsquare stream inbetween presentations) was amazing and I was the only one watching. The prerelease trailer is just as good so hell yeah.

Even though I have setup the PSVR again there is no way I am playing on that though. Strictly 2d for my flying time.

Well... negotiations with mother have broken down... despite my upcoming 37th birthday, I'm still not allowed to have an early birthday present! There's not much room for FOMO in my life, but I'm getting in at the start with this! =D

I'm going to buy it myself from Game on Friday!

@KALofKRYPTON I have a couple of games to trade in (zenith and Nier Automata) and will grab it next week most probably Tuesday when I'm off work.

In a couple of hours, it will be mine - then I just have to finish work...

It could go either way for me with this game, and with Resi 2 out next week I'm going to put this on the back (after)burner and get it in a sale down the line.

I'm playing on a base PS4 and have revisited the PS2 games recently too.
Noticed the odd frame drop, but nothing jarring. Poor old Xbone.

This game is ridiculously fun. Takes me back to Ace Combat on the ps1 when I w was a kid. Even the multiplayer, which is something I usually avoid, is great fun.

@Frigate I checked the themes out, didn't like them much.

I'd love to see it running on a pro and an oled hdr (or even maxed out on PC). But still, running on my base PS4 and 11(!) year old Bravia it looks great!

Is the PS2 Classic Ace Combat 5 a timed Pre-Order exclusive? Or will it never become available for the rest of us?

@TowaHerschel7 it's not a PS2 Classic as such.
Looks like it was done internally at Namco. No PS2 logo start up screen and no memory card interface suggest that it may not even be emulated. Menu and HUD elements are higher res too.
I'd think that it wouldn't be, but given the extremely positive reception of AC7 - I wouldn't rule it out.

@Si_Is_The_One Thanks, more in the screenshots thread - have fun! I haven't even done one run through the campaign yet!

The ridiculously generous multiplayer rewards (MRP) have me pretty much just doing a mission then jumping online.

@KALofKRYPTON Not to sure about MP... Shame you can't have co-op like H.A.W.X

@Si_Is_The_One Co-Op would be pretty cool.

Honestly, it's pretty fun - it can get a bit just 'flying in circles' sometimes, certainly in the regular deathmatch mode. But, it is fun non-the-less.

I reckon Namco will make additions to the game beyond the season pass missions. I think given the success of the VR implementation, they'll make the whole thing VR at some point and add in some of the co-op elements from Infinity too.
