Topic: God of War 4, how to create multiple savegames

I started playing last saturday god of war 4.
A flatmate then created a new game yesterday to start the story from the beginning.
Now I just realised, that my savegames are gone. I can't believe, there is only one story you can play at one.
How can I get my savegames back? I was way ahead than he is now.
How can we play our own savegames without deleting the others?
I mean on every old console it was easy to create several parallel savegames. It can't be that this is not possible anymore.

@deathbox592 if it isn't in the "load game" option it sounds like it's gone but that's kind of weird? You can check in the saved date in the system option to see if there is a bunch of saves there, too.

You can make a new user account in your PS4 and switch between them (I think?)

@get2sammyb ah I thought he had manually saved. Bummer. I manually save quite a bit since I've been turning my PS4 off between goes, not rest like usual. For some reason GOW crashes if I leave it open in rest mode for more than a few hours. Odd..

Thanks for the answers.
For me it was clear, that wen someone presses a new game, it saves new savegames. But it didn't. I also did not even know that I can manualy save the game.
Unfortunately only his savegames are in the loading option.
Now I tried it a bit out with the manual saves. It seems to work and not just overwrite them as the automatic savegames.
So from now on I have to manualy save each time. Incredible how stoneaged this is.
Thanks again for the fast reply.

@kyleforrester87 the reason is that even in rest mode this game increases the console heat way too much. I left it on rest mode for less than 15 minutes today and it was more hot than most of the times when I actually play this very same game.

I know you probably shouldn't have to do this, but would it work if your flatmate used another profile and not yours? They would need to select this profile each time they wanted to play the game.

Usually games have multiple save slots eg New game 1, new game 2 etc. Strange that God of War doesn't offer this.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

@JohnnyShoulder God of War doesn't offer multiple save slots BUT you can manually save more than 1 file. If they can't play on different profiles, they can load their own save point and carry on - just make sure that you don't overwrite the other person's save file. I don't know how many different save files you can have but you can definitely have more than 1. I had 2 myself - mostly because when I manually saved, I clicked on a 'new save file' instead of moving down to overwrite the last one.

If you wanted to keep a save (like an 'easy or hard' difficulty playthrough) and start a new game(to play on a different difficulty for example), you can always load either. Its not as simple as having different game slots but its the same principal. Its possible that you could have more manual saves than most games offer 'slots'.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
