@Octane Honestly. The 2nd game was nice to play.
I really dislike TASM/TASM2 movies. Other than Emma Stone - they're just bad films.
I honestly think with the amount of previous games out there, any developer would actually have to go a fair way to making a bad Spider-Man game these days.

@adf86 I could be wrong obviously, but I believe that Sucker Punch would be the first choice of Sony for Spider-Man, that didn't happen maybe because Ghost of Tsushima. If Sucker Punck was responsible for Spider-Man, we would probably play the game on PS5 only, Sony and Marvel don't want to wait that long for the game. Spider-Man is back on the big screen and also joined Marvel cinematic universe, now its the best time to release the first game and start to build a franchise. Anyway, nothing confirmed, of course. Btw, I'm more than happy that we can play both Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima. ^^
@PS_Nation I'm not entirely sure any of that is true, I think that is all based on rumour and speculation.
Sony actually went to Insomniac and let them choose which Marvel character to make a game based on. I'm not sure if Sony would have done that if another studio was first choice, especially on how picky Disney/Marvel are with their stuff.
@JohnnyShoulder@KALofKRYPTON Like I said, just trying to think about what happened with the deal. I would imagine that as an exclusive game like Spider-Man, Sony would choose your own studio to create the game and Sucker Punch would be the perfect choice because of Infamous. Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud, lol.
Btw, I'm a huge fan of Insomniac and Sucker Punch, both are fantastic gaming studios, they are among my favorite.
I just got the new Game Informer with the Spider-Man cover story. Aside from story info with other odds & ends, there ain't much we don't already know. I figured it wouldn't hurt to post some of it, though.
STORY INFO
-The game's opening mission details Kingpin's arrest.
-Peter Parker has a job as a scientist. What company it is won't be revealed until the game ships.
-Peter and MJ aren't in a relationship, but were involved in the past. They would have made beautiful babies according to Aunt May.
-As reported, MJ is the one who's working at the Bugle.
-Norman Osborn is NYC's mayor. He's up for reelection by the time of this game. Harry is apparently still in contact with Peter, but is overseas.
-Taskmaster and Shocker are present in the game, but it appears they're primarily side activities.
GAMEPLAY INFO
-You earn crafting materials by completing missions, which ties into upgrades. Specifically gadgets and even new suits.
-Suits will have an upgradeable power unique to them, but you are also able to move powers to a different suit. The classic and Noir suits are in, with the classic suit having a quad-damage power. The Noir suit's power wasn't shown off. Insomniac has also made suits that will debut in this game.
-Side activities currently include Oscorp Research stations (which lead to different mini missions), Black Cat stakeouts (hunting for golden cat statues covered in surveillance gear and taking photos of them), finding Peter's old backpacks (which contain audio recordings), random crimes (such as robberies and getaways), and clearing out Kingpin's remaining bases.
-New York will be as structurally accurate as possible, with the team looking at satellite data as reference.
-Gadgets that were shown off were tripwires (primarily a stealth tool that pulls enemies to walls), web bombs, a spider drone (which hovers and shoots webs), and of course, Spidey's webbing. The webbing itself is infinite, but his gadgets are not.
-Spidey has a focus meter used for finishers (I'm assuming they're like the Arkham games' takedowns), and is also used to heal by holding down on the D-Pad.

That first part about the story i think you put a spoiler tag over it. I certainly didn't know any of that as i try to avoid any previews/trailers that go into any details about the story.

@Tasuki It should still work, because I just claimed it just fine. Just had to login on the website.

So, with a couple days to go, I’m curious if most people will drop what they are doing and abandon any games they have in process in favor of playing Spider-Man. I tried to plan ahead so I could play this at launch, rather than add it to the backlog. I didn’t get God of War at launch so I missed out on the discussion and have been able to avoid spoilers for the most part, which hasn’t been easy. For Spider-Man, I want to jump in and experience it with the masses. And hopefully I won’t have anything spoiled that way either.
Another rather shallow reason to try to play these at launch is to experience them before the inevitable discussions of GotY that will commence in about 2-3 months. Although it is probably Red Dead 2’s crown to lose — in order to really have a meaningful vote, one probably needs to have played as many of this year’s big releases as possible.
@Th3solution As with a lot of the 'Public' vote, similar to the PushSquare Forum votes we see hear, people only vote for games they have played. Of course you also have people that like different things in games too so you do get some 'interesting' choices.
Whilst Spider-Man may well be nominated, I don't think it will be a 'winner' of GotY. That could change once I play but the reviews seem to be quite unanimous in the comments about the side content - the lack of meaningful quests, the Ubisoft type 'towers' and enemy bases to clear out etc. That's not to say the Story and the game-play mechanics aren't great and its easy to see why its likely to be the 'best' Spider-Man game but the 'best' game of the year I think is going to be a too much to expect. Of course it may well be some peoples game of the year, especially if they don't enjoy a certain RPG Western coming out next month and are 'Spidey' fans.
I consider myself a Spidey fan, I pre-ordered this game over 15months ago but I still can't see it beating RDR2. Its likely to be in my top 5 - along with games like God of War (a surprise for me as I am not a fan of the Franchise), Shadow of the Tomb Raider and even Assassins Creed: Odyssey.
Anyway, looking forward to getting mine on the 7th but right now, based on reviews, I would be very surprised if this wins Game of the Year - even with just Sony exclusives or Sony biased sites...

Is it possible to get the thread title changed @Tasuki ?
The game is officially called ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’. I can’t be the only one that gets irked by the misspelling 😂.
@Th3solution I’m in the midst of Yakuza Kiwami 2, which I’m planning to play alongside Spider-Man, but will have to drop Dragon Quest XI & Divinity (1) until after those two.
I’ve got the season pass so I’m going to stretch the game until Oct 23, when the first DLC launches.
@KidBoruto I was pretty close with my prediction! I was off by 1 for both the meta & Push Square score.
87 is a great first attempt & from the reviews they got all the difficult things right first time around, but just fell into some of the ‘open-world traps’. Lots to look forward to in the sequel.
I do wish Insomniac became First Party. They consistently put out good-great games, but still waiting for their true break through.
They seem to have their hands on a lot of projects on various platforms. I wonder what they could achieve if they solely focused on PlayStation.

@Th3solution yeah i'm dropping some games to play it although my delivery date is the 8th for some reason so i might get it a day later than most but i'm looking forward to it
but to be fair most of the games i'm playing are old games anyway such as FFX, FFXII and Shenmue and as they are just ports of games i have finished before so i can drop them for a bit without any trouble
