@WanderingBullet As @kyleforrester87 mentioned it's hunter ranking. I'm hunter rank 11 after about 45 hours so shouldn't take you too long to get to 6.
It looks like I'll get the Rathalos Edition on release date was a little worried Gamestop would ship ON release date.
The anticipation is killing me. Less than 16 hours to go!
To save our Mother Earth from any alien attack
From vicious giant insects who have once again come back
We'll unleash all our forces we won't cut them any slack
The EDF deploys!!
@Splat@WanderingBullet Yep, plan on setting one up ASAP, hopefully tonight once it's unlocked (if it's possible to create one right at the start of the game, anyway).
I just received the standard retail version of the game I had pre-ordered, but there's nothing (like a redeemable code) that hints to a pre-order bonus. I guess I was unlucky
I really like the SOS thing. I had a quest that was a bit much and just shot up a flare and had people jump in within a minute. Pretty cool. It's nice to not have to quit and restart for people to join.
This game is going to consume to me.
Managed to sink in 5 hours yesterday, despite it being a work day.
I've settled on the Insect Glaive as my weapon. I completed the Jagras Armor set and I'm half-way done with Kulu.
As a total newbie I do have some questions that I hope you guys can answer:
1) Are there matching armor bonuses (felt like I read that there was)?
2) Does 'Blunt' or 'Sever' affect the resources I can obtain from an enemy or does it just affect damage output against enemies with different resistances.
3) The Insect Glaive has access to an insect projectile. I currently have 2 (Mauldrone & Culldrone). How does the 'Dust Effect' work?
Lives, Lived, Will Live.
Dies, Died, Will Die.

@WanderingBullet I contacted the store and unfortunately they didn't give any codes with the pre-orders at all. Well it's fine, at least it was relatively cheap.
@Splat I have to maintain abstinence from gaming for a week because of my exams 😢
@Fight_Teza_Fight 1) Yes. Each piece of armour offers some kind of ability "factor", e.g. Fire Attack +5. For the actual ability to be activated these "factors" from all your pieces of equipment must add up to a certain minimum, say Fire Attack +10. Try inspecting the equipment that interests you to find out what it offers and check your characters status to see what abilities you have activated or what you should equip to activate them.
2) I don't think it affects the parts you get. It really has to do with the part of the monster's body you focus your attacks on.
These answers are based on my experience from previous instalments, but I guess they hold true in this one too.
