@KappaBeta Thanks! I was sure there were matching armor bonuses, but couldn't see the effects at the time.
If it doesn't affect the resources I'm just going to focus on upgrading my 'Blunt' Insect Glaive.
The game really is great. I could see myself playing it for hundreds of hours.
I'm surprised how polished the game is. Did not expect this out of Capcom!

@Fight_Teza_Fight I wasn't 100% sure for my response to your second question, so I googled it and found out I was wrong. So, indeed the weapon type (Blunt/Sever) does determine the parts you'll take. Each type is more effective to different parts. With sever weapons you'll be able to break most monster parts. However blunt weapons are more limited (e.g. you'll never be able to cut a tail with one), but make up for it by being able to stun monsters if you deal heavy damage on their head.
I hadn't noticed any of these in-game, as I have always had a preference for sever weapons (I'll probably main Longsword in this one as well)
Hey, so my first monster Hunter game. I'm a total noob..
So just played my first 4 hours and love this game. Just somethings I wanna ask...
So pre-order edition psn came with stickers, samurai amour set and some other stuff. How do I find the in game stuff? I'm just finishing bone armour set and cannot find the samurai set in any of the slots.
How and when to use stickers, and where to find them?
And how the hell do you kill the monster in the desert, I'm solo at the moment none of my friends have this, most of them are still in battle field 2...
So I need advice on tactical applications and I'm using the, I think it's the bone switch hammer. The big hammer just proved to slow. I like a tank set up in most of my game styles so prefer big hammer, great sword type weapons.
I'm getting notifications telling me people have just joined the game. I'm taking it this is on another instance, as when I go to start a mission it's only ever my name in the departures window, so is the on line aspect not like Destiny where everyone on the same map, and can randomly run across another player and give them a hand. I've not seen anyone else on my map since starting.
I've got ammo coatings in my inventory but all with crosses stopping me from using them, are they not for the faster arm weapon?
Sorry for such a long winded post.
@Pud80 hey! So first to have the preorder content you need to talk with palico (cat) in your room! There something like 'claim add on bonuses' will pop up and you press that...
The stickers if I'm not mistaken are just those things in the communication menu (press L1 then left at D-pad)! You can customize this menu by pressing OPTIONS and go to 'costumize radial menu'!
So which monster in the desert are you talking about? Maybe it's an harder monster and you need to level up and upgrade weapons and armor!!
Then referring to the people entering online! The notifications you're receiving are from people entering your hub world (online session) and that only means they are in astera like you! To play with other guys the method I find most efficient is simply firing an SOS flare when you spot a monster and waiting for someone to come! Sometimes 3 other hunters come, sometimes 1 but usually someone comes! (The online seems to have some problems right now from psn issues etc)!
The last thing, the ammo only works for weapons like that machine gun, at least I think so! Switch to it before a quest and you can use dpad to change ammo!
Hope this helps
This game is so amazingly addictive. I've just come off a complete playthrough of TW3, so for a game to still stand out to me after that really says something.
Thank you AFCC much appreciated.
I'll be checking the cat out in my room tonight once i finish work.
Where would i find a clan or just fellow New comers to this game, I'm not a hard core gamer but on most week nights UK time.
It's perfect. It's everything I hoped for and more.

Pole jump all day every day!
I do have a Carapace Buster just in case though.
@WanderingBullet I think so. I've done loads of research requests, but my
Hunter Rank is still 3.

@Splat That's what I've been going with too. My inner Dragoon won't let me use anything else
I just hit HR11 last night. No spoilers but the last HR10 quest was a nailbiter. He was the only guy to cart me twice... and I've fought him at least hundred times on PSP. I guess I had a bit more rust than I originally thought.

So need to hurry up and get to HR 8 before the 8th February if you want to try out all the events. Should be doable for me, I reached HR 6 today and crafted the HZD Watcher gear. But I would have liked these events to last for longer.
