I know it's been said but it's just weird that there is no presence for this game anywhere on PSN right now... you'd think with such critical acclaim it would be somewhere? But not even under the hot preorders? I know advertising comes at a premium but...Weirrrd.
Preload complete. 6 hours to go.
Come on Sony give me the keys to the kingdom!!

@kyleforrester87 Yep, got the day off . I've literally only seen 2 trailers. Going in completely blind & after hearing @ShogunRok on the PushSquare podcast I'm even more excited!

@Fight_Teza_Fight Same here more or less other than the trailer I saw, few reviews and a bit of prior experience with P4G. No idea what to expect really in terms of story etc..!
Look forward to reading your thoughts when I wake up tomorrow haha.
Played a couple hours last night and wow...I don't think I've played a game this stylish since Jet Set Radio. It just radiates Japanese cool. The story makes a much quicker and more interesting start than P4G did, too. Much darker tone overall and I'm already fascinated to see where it goes, whereas it took a little while to click with Persona 4. Stunning game in every sense. This is gonna be very, very good.
The game is finally out! I can't get it yet, but I hope everyone here has a blast with it.

Been hammering the game all day non-stop. After 12 hours, I've finally cleared my first dungeon & I haven't even gone one month yet!
Early thoughts are overwhelmingly positive. It's all a step up from P4G, especially dungeons.
I do however miss shuffle time. That gave every encounter a meaning & purpose (besides XP).
I was unsure about the Demon Negotiations, because I felt it took you out of combat for way too long in P1 & P2. They nailed it this time around, although it does feel severely dumbed down compared to those two.
I've not been let 'loose' yet, but I already feel like I'm playing catch up in respect to time.
Haven't even been able to level up one of my social parameters or explore properly yet. Going to need multiple playthroughs to see it all.
Also anyone else notice everybody's favourite handheld on the train? Persona 5 Portable confirmed

I've played a few hours worth and love it so far. It's oozing style! The presentation is quite amazing. I like that the game has a much punchier start than 4 and you get to the first dungeon quite quickly. The slow build up suited Persona 4 and its sleepy mountain town nicely, but the tone is very different here and much, much darker. I like how the story is presented. I can't wait to play more.
@KratosMD I think the 'safety' option was included strictly to make it appeal to a broader audience that are only after the story (like narrative on ME).
I'm playing on Normal on my first playthrough. I feel it's perfectly manageable. 15 hours in & I've only died once when I got careless with Rush mode.
Battles are definitely more challenging. That first boss fight in particular surprised me. I've also found that my party is 2-3 levels underlevelled compared to some of the tougher enemies in the dungeons. Not sure if that's by design or I haven't explored enough.
Like you said the save points definitely make it easier. Also 'game over' doesn't necessarily mean much as you just get kicked to the start of the floor you're on.
On normal I also wasn't able to complete the dungeon in one sitting, like I normally would (5 days!).
You can always start over on 'easy' & adjust when necessary.

About three hours in. One of the first fights in the game (when Ryuji gets his Persona), and I get absolutely slaughtered on the first go. Haha! Hard mode seems aptly named so far.
Oh well, if I could get through the entirety of SMT IV: Apocalypse on the hardest (non-DLC) difficulty, I can do it here, too!
@Fight_Teza_Fight Haven't gotten to one of the negotiations yet, but the negotiation system in P1 & 2 was terrible anyway. I really like the added element of randomness in the more recent SMT games, where you actually feel like you're talking to a creature with an actual personality and not just getting a multiple choice question wrong.
