@KratosMD Ouch. That sucks! I always double back and save any time I go up a level or get a good Persona in one of these games because I'm terrified of losing progress.
Still in the first dungeon?

Just managed to get my first couple of hours in, too early to judge it, but I am currently really looking forward to meeting the characters and uncovering the story. Going to take my time with this one though as it'll likely be snother 5 years before I get to enjoy the next one.
I seriously LOVE this game!
My only gripe with it, is that there is TOO much gameplay atm, otherwise its everything and more I wanted out of Persona.
The current dungeon I'm on is fantastically imaginative. Really enjoying it. However, I'm having to spend quite a few days on it, which locks me out of the social stuff.
I really love the little intricate stuff in this game. I didn't really clock on, till last night that the demons you come across, have just descriptives as names. Only once you talk to them and make them remember or obtain them through fusion do you get their actual name. Love that!
I have also settled on a three party Persona team. Oni for insane damage, High Pixie for Magic (has all elemental magic through fusion) & Shissa as a mixed hitter. Really hope I get growth 2/3 soon. I like this party. In P4G I trained Lvl16 Shissa all the way to Lvl45.
As for waifu material, the purist in me wants to go for Ann, but the masochist in me is wants to go for Takemi xD . There's something about Doctor Death that's keep making me want to come back...

@KratosMD Jack Frost is awesome, especially in that first dungeon. Atlus have done a great job designing & naming persona. Makes it easy to remember them.

@KratosMD I've noticed that I don't seem to get any more money by negotiating with a demon for money than by just killing it. Seems a bit weird.
I love that demon negotiations are back, though, even if we're still calling the demons "shadows." It feels a lot more like a proper SMT game this way. ESPECIALLY with the return of guns.
Also, the level design seems more like classic SMT than previous Personas. SMT games often had interconnected, labyrinthine dungeons as opposed to stale hallways like in Persona 3/4. SMT IV's level design was pretty bad, but SMT IV: Apocalypse went back to that awesome, non-linear dungeon design (final dungeon notwithstanding...). It seems like Persona 5 is a huge step in the right direction in this regard.
@Ralizah I find that the best time to ask it for money is when there is only one of them there. If there are 2-4, I generally seem to make more money with an all-out attack. I started getting some scenarios in the 2nd palace where asking one for money would net up to 2500 yen, which is a big jump, but that can fluctuate.
I still haven't really gotten any great things with asking for items on the few times I experiment with it.
@ztpayne7 Agreed. I haven't noticed that I get any more money when I ask one demon for it versus just killing it, though. That whole option seems sort of pointless.
First flaw I've noticed in an otherwise superb game.

Been playing now and just beat the third dungeon, and I have to say the game has been absolutely incredible. One of the best RPGs I've ever played.
My only criticism is when the game locks you out of doing something in the evening even though you're usually allowed to do something during that time.
@Kogorn733 yes, that can get annoying. Like when my DVD ends up being 10 days late because several of those days you have no control over and when you do have free time, you forget you even had it in the first place.
Just beat the 3rd dungeon with 12 days to spare!
I'm salivating at the thought of all that 'free' time haha.
There's so much I have to to still see/do and I keep unlocking more and more through reading. It's hard to keep up!

Yep, happened to me, although I've gotten remarkably lucky. each of three times that has happened to me they waved the fee. First time was because it was my first rental, and other two times because the line was too long/crazy.
@Kogorn733 you know, that's happened to me too. Exact same way. I was wondering the most recent time if the whole thing is a gimmick and they waive the fee every time.
Just started ( work transfer kept me away from...anything, really) it's amazing - my only gripe is how little the combat system has evolved. There is nothing wrong with it but I played both 3 and 4 several times and in a copule of iterations, so I kinda had my fill.
One of the things I like about modern SMT and Persona games is that they refine and perfect a combat system that works really well instead of endlessly trying to re-invent the wheel like Squeenix with Final Fantasy.

@Ralizah I am not too happy of basically playing the same game the third time in a row - especially since Persona 4 was so long ago. The story and setting are important elements but the core game is way too similar to previous entries and I feel it is kind of a let down - even a game like Tokyo Mirage Sessions offered a different spin on things keeping the SMT system pretty intact as a foundation. It seems I am really down on P5 when I am really loving the game. It's just that like Zelda before Breath of the wild, the brilliant formula is starting to feel stale. I don't know exactly what I wanted but yeah I wanted something I hadn't played for 800 hours before.
@Feena I've only played a bit of P4 so correct me if these elements are in the past installments but aren't the inclusion of the guns, baton pass, hold ups and one more new to the P5 combat system? Of course I could well be wrong!
The dungeons seem a lot better too, granted I've only played one but procedurally generated is a bit gross...
