Who's planning on buying Dark Souls Remastered? And who's disappointed it isn't a full-blown Shadow Of The Colossus-style remake?
Is anybody planning on taking part in the upcoming beta? What build is everyone going with? And who's excited about being able to stroll through Blighttown without the frame rate reducing it to a slideshow?

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
I’ll try the Network Test, and decide from there. I’m still debating if I want the PS4 or Switch version, but I think I’ll go for the PS4 for that silky smooth 60fps.
Just a geek that likes video games, and spends to much time playing Smash Bros. and Fortnite.

I'm getting this for the PS4 and might get it for the switch too, depending on how it performs on NS and if I'm still wanna play it again later in the year when it is released on NS. I won't be doing network test.
@Kidfried Although there is no pause option, when you put the Switch into rest mode it should suspend the game and you can carry on from where you left off. However, I'm not sure how that will effect the online stuff. Whenever I've been playing DS3 and BB and switched to YouTube on my ps4, when I go back to the game it throws me back to the title screen.

I've never taken part in a network test before but I'm tempted by this, just to re-familiarise myself with the Undead Parish. @JohnnyShoulder I always mean to go with a dexterity build but I always, always fall back on sword and shield. Dallied with magic in Demon's Souls but that's about it. @CountFunkula78 Surely the only logical answer is all three!
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108
Don't tempt me! And don't call me Shirley 😉
The Switch delay has probably sealed my fate - I'm likely to get the PS version when it comes out, and the Switch one later on. If they were coming out at the same time it would be harder to justify it. I'll get the PC upgrade if a couple of specific PC-only mates also get it.
So I'll have bought it 5 times - almost as many times as I've bought Resident Evil 1!
@CountFunkula78 That is a lot, but well worth it! Think how many hours you'll have got out of it.
In a slightly geeky move, I've traded in my PS3 copy, but I've kept the artbook and soundtrack CD from the special edition - I'm planning to just pop the PS4 case straight into the cardboard box!
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
I'll buy it probably very early in its launch, maybe even pre-order it as it's not expensive. I've already finished dks2 and 3 so I'm missing this one to complete the trilogy. As I have only tried this one for a brief time on PC and didn't enjoy it back in the day, I have no experience with it and it's areas. I'll go for a knight just as in the other two. I've never played magic build in any soulslike game and won't in this one either.
I tried the beta last night. I couldn't connect with any of the players I tried to summon.
Also, my character didn't seem to have the stats to be able to equip the gear he'd started with, so he had to run around in his underpants.
Anyone else have more success with it?
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
As much as I love the game, I'm going to pass on this as I've played it through multiple times on both PS3 and PC, with the latter being able to be modded to comparable levels of this new release. I think they missed a trick by not re-releasing Demon's Souls since it is highly likely less people have played that game and they could have tweaked it to appeal more to old players like me. Still a great opportunity for new players to get into this though, but I'll hold out for From's next new Souls like release.
I tired the beta as well and had a few issues. The biggest issue was not being able to use my Estes flasks with the the down button. I had to go into the menu to use it. I also could only summon once, the rest of the time it wouldn't work. That's a stress test for ya. I mainly tried it to see if the visual would not be too dated to take away from the game. They were not. The characters looked great. It was mainly the backgrounds that suffered. I'll get the game but not until its closer to $20.
Digital Foundry article on the network test. Interesting that even with the extra POWAH of the X there isn't much difference to the Pro version. Like it says the network test was on a early build as you would expect, so hopefully all the issues can be fixed.
I have to be honest my expectations are quite low for this after seeing some of the headlines, and that was before the network test. But maybe that is a good thing as I think we have been spoilt with titles like Shadow of the Colossus.

@JohnnyShoulder one X cannot have big advantage when this is simply a remastered game, not remade. And besides, DS games were never about graphical fidelity.
I'm looking forward to it, this is the only DS game I haven't finished. Not counting demon souls.
