Red Dead Redemption 2 has been officially given a Release date - October 26th 2018!!!

Can't Wait!!

Awesome. Red Dead was one of my favorite games on PS3. Seeing this instantly gets me amped up.

Here's hoping I'll be able to get it when it releases.

Cool, day one - hope Rockstar nail the story though. GTA5 was a bit all over the place.

A delay?

@KratosMD I was under the impression that it was scheduled for the first half of 2018, not October. Did they announce another delay?

October is usually a busy month for me and I would of preferred a release in the first half of 2018. I generally find big open world games too big with all the other new games around. No doubt CoD and Battlefield will release either side of this and October-ish is often when Assassin's Creed games launch too. This October, I bought 4 games and 2 in the first half of November and that's not unusual.

Of course I will still buy this Day 1 but it may mean I don't get 'deep' into this with other 'new' games also vying for my attention.

Yay! Wonder if any multiplayer details will be revealed?

Hopefully they'll have a decent character creator for the online portion of the game this time. GTA Online's was awful. I just wanna create a cowgirl who doesn't look like a fella.

Not seen the trailer... decided not to watch any movie or gaming ones anymore as i think they show off far too much these days.

Not sure if I'll be getting this day one or not. Did enjoy the previous game, just not getting any vibes from this one.

@KratosMD so I'm not the only one who thought rdr was mediocre. I agree with your points. Also, the world felt empty in a bad way, and because all of this I'm not really hyped for this game, even after watching these trailers.

@kyleforrester87 I've seen the previous trailers just not the latest one. They didn't really do anything for me.

I'm think I'm just burnt out on on open world games.

@JohnnyShoulder nah the trailers don't do it for me either. Just a bunch of heads spouting nonsense and typical Wild West stuff. But RDR was genuinely great, so I'm getting this day one.

@Kidfried I'll always remember that part when Marston helped Bonnie herd the cows back in a thunderstorm. One of those stand out moments in games for me.

Some details on the game-play, interactions and the world. NPC's react differently depending on you, whether you have your guns holstered etc.

Also, we have seen actual game-play in the trailers (yes - plural) - its not all cut-scenes!

Can you purchase the Special and Ultimate Edition additional contents later on from the PS Store or are they exclusive only to said editions?

I haven't been actively following the marketing or interview for Red Dead Redemption 2, but this new gameplay trailer has absolutely sold me. I have never played RDR1 (so far), so this was never something I was actively looking towards besides keeping it's existence in the back of my mind. I'm not all that big of a fan of open worlds either, and I find myself never really being able to complete games which employ them, which is what happened with GTAV. The Witcher 3 is the only one I can think of I completed. This trailer really makes it seem like they're doing something very special however, and I'm really into it. If the reviews end up being fantastic, it might be a day one purchase for me. The first since.... Mass Effect Andromeda. Looks like it'll be better than that at least.

This is a sequel to a loved game of last gen, a game of the year winner and made by the studio that also made one of the biggest selling games ever. People were 'hyped' by a trailer for the Last of Us 2 with just a trailer because its a sequel to a well loved game of the year game. People are hyped for Death Stranding just because its Kojima's next game so I really can't see why you struggle to see why RDR2 has a LOT of hype. Even when RDR came to Xbox Backwards Compatibility, it had almost as much hype and excitement as a new release - at least amongst Xbox fans.

I bet if Half Life 3 was announced, even with no game-play or cinematic trailer, people would be hyped just because its Half Life. When big games, especially Game of the Year titles, get a sequel, there will be hype. Cyberpunk had a LOT of hype and anticipation long before any game-play was shown too. Its not as if Rockstar churn out games every year either so when they do release a title, its usually highly anticipated...

@Kyroki I'm not "hyped" for this, but it's absolutely clear it's the much better, more progressive openworld game than Spiderman, in my opinion.

So yeah, I'm gunna get this, and I'm probably gunna love it.

@Kidfried My reply was definitely not meant to belittle your earlier comments if that's how it came across, especially since I saw yours was months old. I was just stating how I felt about the game after seeing the most recent trailer.
