Topic: risk of rain

So I have a problem but want to know how many others are having it also.

Risk of rain online sessions de sync. it seems we are playing different game sessions, or 1 person gets a death message and the other doesn't. After much troubleshooting it has nothing to do with internet settings/ ports, etc. all other games work fine.

Anyone know if Hopoo will ever release an update for this game?

Have you tried contacting the developer? Maybe email or see if they have a community forum. I wish I could be more help but what you are asking probably sound like the answers will be easiest found there.

@Tasuki: no that's the thing seems risk of rain dev is a deadbeat. people have complained about the issue since shortly after the game released.

and I have posted in the community forums for risk of rain back in September, not even 1 response. Leaving me to believe the dev put out a broken game and just moved on.

the 1 issues I have with this are:
1. Since this is clearly an issue why aren't they attempting to work on it
2. How is Sony allowing a dev to leave a game unpatched for so long?

@wittypixel: People put too much on Sony really. Like saying that they are allowing them to leave a game unpacked for so long. Really that's up to the dev team not Sony. I mean Sony definitely could do things like not allow them to make games for them etc. But in the end they can't force them to do anything.

Since this is the first time I have heard of this game, chances are it was probably done by a small studio that just doesn't care and moved on, which is sad really.

@Tasuki: I agree they can't force anything but IMO in situations like this devs should be ban prohibited until they resolve issues like this. and also given a strike of some sort.

not because the game is broken but because it's been broken for almost a year according to the earliest report of the issue. I think that is beyond fair and will keep small devs indie developers honest. putting out a game with bugs and leaving it in that condition shouldn't be allowed aka no man's sky, but at least they squahed the bugs and did it pretty fast.
