Looks like ps5 disc is back down to £400 again in the UK if anyone is interested? It's at Argos and Amazon but Shopto, Currys and Smyths come with a free game
I ordered my PS5 from Sony's official site and used this coupon code: VCCGBAFFWK49, which gave me a 7% discount.
You can check to see if it's still active. If not, you can check on DontPayFull if there are any new discount coupons. I always find through them some sweet deals.
@ralphdibny This current deal ends on 7th September, and yeah I'm sure there will be other sales. Not sure if they will be a great deal steeper any time soon, unless retailers reduce it further.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
for us folks here in the USA, for the Playstation 4 PSN store there's a Capcom sale which is mostly of Street Fighter 5, Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes, Resident Evil Village that's on sale sort of at 19.99 and then there's the Monster Hunter World and Rise games on sale.
PSA for people in the States — GameStop is also having sale prices on games to coordinate with the Days of Play PSN sale. So they’ve marked down their Sony first party games to match the sale. So if you prefer your games physical, then check it out.

@colonelkilgore I moved the wishlist discussion over here just to keep from derailing Wukong.
I’ve had a similar thing where I kept my own list of games to keep an eye on and then discovered that the wishlist function does a good job of doing that for me. Even if it means I keep a game on my PSN wishlist so that I can pull up said list on the PlayStation App while I’m at GameStop or Best Buy to remind me what I want to look for. 😂
Have you tried PSprices.com? I use it to reference when a game is hitting rock bottom as far as its price, and supposedly there’s a way you can register and create an account and have it track games for you and email you if the price drops. I can’t be bothered with all that though and I have an aversion to creating a bunch of website profiles. I have enough website log-ins to sink a battleship and I just don’t want any more. And the last thing I need is more emails. So I just reference the site when I want to dive in and research on my own accord. Unfortunately the PSPrices website is quite cumbersome to navigate, but it’s been helpful if you can get around the convoluted mess of it all.

@Th3solution I haven’t mate, my sort of go-to rule of thumb is if something gets a 40% reduction and it’s on my wishlist I’m down. Obviously there are occasions where the deal is even better than 40%, which is a bonus.
@colonelkilgore Yeah, if you’re paying attention to sales and the market then it won’t typically show you many surprises, but it’s sometimes interesting to see the graph of what the price of the game has done over its lifetime. But yeah, for a newish game, 40% is a fairly safe cut-off. And the site won’t give you anything about pre-owned prices (not sure if you ever buy used games) and isn’t always accurate with some of the smaller retailers.
In the U.S., GameStop does price matching, depending on who’s working there that day as it varies how liberal they are with it, so I’ve used psprices to do a quick search in store and asked them to match a current low price at another retailer. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won’t. Especially for Amazon prices, I don’t think they let you use those anymore.

If anyone likes the old Lunar Lander game from the arcades then I recommend Dropship commander.
Currently on sale for a couple of quid, has a fairly easy platinum and has PS4 and PS5 builds, crossbuy and even supports both VR headsets with the PS5 version being patched the other day.
Can be played in flat or VR.
Very much a budget title but it has that nostalgia factor, for some of us at least.
Not PS-related, but I urge anyone who plays on PC to keep an eye on official key re-sellers like Fanatical and Green Man Gaming. Some of the deals are truly absurd. Just a couple days ago, I scored a pre-purchase of the upcoming Metaphor: ReFantazio for just a hair under $40!
Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)
There are so many games listed for the “Under $15” sale, but which ones—of the obscure ones that are really, really, really cheap (like, around a buck)—are actually worth buying? I’ll list out a few of ‘em that I have that I give a “thumbs up” to. Not all are “fantastic” games, but all are definitely worth the sale price:
—Not a Hero
—Deadlight Director’s Cut
—Letterquest Remastered
—WRC 6
—Flatout 4
—Stick it to the Man
—1979 Revolution
—Salt and Sanctuary
—Salt and Sacrifice (good 2 player couch co-op, but you gotta unlock it first)
—Bound by Flame
—Goat Simulator
—Homefront The Revolution (especially since there’s a full port of Timesplitters 2 hidden within the game!)
—Need for Speed Payback
—Outlast and Outlast 2
—Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO
—The Fall
—WRC7
—Saints Row Gat out of Hell
—The Amazing American Circus
—The Deadly Tower of Monsters
—Pretty Girls Panic! (I’m a sucker for games like Qix, though)
—Battlefield Hardline Deluxe Edition (for $2.49, yessir!)
—Limbo
—Absolver
—Astebreed
—Castle Crashers Remastered (great 4 player couch co-cop!)
—Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams Director’s Cut
—Ironcast
—Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux
—Poolnation (good 2 player couch play)
—Soma
—Forager
—Rainbow Moon
—Zombie Army 4
—Warhammer Chaosbane (great 4 player couch co-op)
—Children of Morta (good 2 player couch co-op)
—Worms Battlegrounds (4 player couch play)
—Wheel of Fortune (up to 3 player couch co-op)
—We Love Katamari Reroll (2 player couch co-op)
—Yoku’s Island Express
—The Wolf Among Us
—The Diabolical Trilogy (good 2 player couch co-op)
—Tesla Force (great 4 player co-op)
—Tesla vs. Lovecraft (great 4 player co-op—I like Tesla Force better than Tesla vs. Lovecraft, but both are good)
@jgrangervikings1
Thank you for that, very helpful. I'm already aware of some of these and have previously played more than a couple of them (Children of Morta probably my favourite from your list) but will be sure to check out some reviews of the ones that weren't on my radar. 👍

@jgrangervikings1
Nice list. I think my favourite from that list is The Deadly Tower of Monsters which I thought was superb, truly unique game
A bargain at the sale price, also worth noting that It was "free" on ps plus years ago..
@sorteddan@CapD Thanks for the positive feedback. There are a bunch of other good games in that same sale that I didn’t list—I didn’t want to drone on too long. I also considered putting out a list of those games on sale that I really DON’T recommend, too, but I didn’t know if that’d be helpful or not.
Here are a couple of opinions I didn’t mention earlier. Some are good, some are bad!
—Zero Zero Zero Zero—good fun for maybe an hour and easy to get some trophies, so it’s worth the $.29 (or whatever it cost under a buck). If you want to test your platforming skills, this is it! (That said, VVVVV is a much better game.)
—A Frog Game—If you like Frogs & Flies for Atari 2600, play that instead. This game has better graphics, but it’s not even as advanced as the Atari 2600 game; you can’t even change your flight path or your jump height. That said, it IS a 2 player couch game. Five to fifteen minutes of fun.
—Dead Island Retro Revenge—I’d rather play an old Tiger handheld game than this. Five to fifteen minutes of fun.
—Rush Rover—Nowhere near as good as Smash TV, but I did do some upgrading to my character, and trophies come quick. Some top down shooter fans **might** like this for a couple of hours. For me, 30-45 minutes of fun.
—Vera Blanc Ghost in the Castle—It’s an ok story/visual novel with a few choices here and there. If you get into the story, it could be up to 2-3 hours of fun. If not, 15-30 minutes of fun.
—Virtuous Western—I’m torn on this. The trophies come quick, but it’s really easy. I smiled a couple of times as I walked up behind the baddies and shot ‘em…or shot the TNT barrel and watched ‘em explode. If I had created this game, I’d be proud of it, but as a retail game? Hmm. 45 minutes to an hour of fun.
—Extreme Exorcism—Some might dig this. Basically, it’s multiple rounds of killing baddies, but each round, the computer follows the same route you took the previous round, so you have to change your tactics every round to win. I don’t like thinking that much when playing, so 15-30 minutes of fun for me. For others who like to use their brain, maybe a couple of hours of fun.
—Momonga—It’s 100+ levels of playing pinball with a rodent ball. If you like this kind of thing, I suggest Rollers of the Realm or, better yet, Yoku’s Island Express, which is also on sale and is just delightful. For Momonga, 45 minutes to an hour, and maybe I’ll come back to it. For others, a couple hours of fun if you like video pinball.
—The Savior’s Gang—You control Jesus and his disciples as they run around in a bunched-up formation…and you guide them through a gauntlet of devious killin’ traps. It’s either funny or sacrilegious, depending on your views, but it’s only an ok game. It’s not shovelware, but it’s not as fun as I’d hoped, either. 30-45 minutes of fun.
—Bee Simulator—4 player splitscreen, but boring as heck. Maybe 30 minutes of fun…or more, if you’re playing with a young kid.
—Chess Knight Shinobi—Interesting idea, but it didn’t hold me for long. Maybe 30 minutes of fun. Could be more if you dig chess and don’t mind watching videos on how to beat certain levels when you start getting stuck.
—Drunken Fist—I played this for about two hours, but I was really bored. Maybe 30 minutes of fun.
—Fear Effect Sedna—It’s fine. I’ll come back to it, I’m sure. Some strategy, some sneaking around, some top-down shooting. Some frustration when you don’t know what to do next or how to do it. Fun time will vary by player.
—Heavy Fire Red Shadow—If you’ve got a PSVR, it’s probably worth a buck or two. Basically, it’s a wave shooter, loke Beach Head 2000. Within the game, WWII soldier guys try to storm the beach, and you shoot the heck out of ‘em. 30 minutes to 1 hour of fun.
—Rock ‘n Racing Off Road DX—AVOID AT ALL COSTS. There’s no rock, and it’s questionable if this qualifies as racing. Also avoid Rock n Racing Grand Prix. Both games are terrible. Think Super Sprint or Ironman Ivan Stewart’s Off Road Racing…and now think 10x worse than the NES version of both of those games, and that’s what you’re getting. Controls are terrible, sound effects are lousy, graphics are meh at best. If you’re wanting a Super Sprint-like game, buy Mini Motor Racing, Super Pixel Racers, Pressure Overdrive, or, better yet, go back to the Vita or PS3 and play MotorStorm RC. Long story short, 0 minutes of fun for anything that starts with Rock N Racing.
—Trax—Don’t buy it. It’s a terrible slot racing game. Yes, it’s got multiplayer options, but you won’t find ANY players who’ll want to play this. Get the Hot Wheels Racing game instead. You’ll be glad you did. 15 minutes of fun for Trax, tops!
—Abyss Odyssey—I really like this game, bit not everyone might. It’s a rogue-like beat ‘em up where you go down, down, down to reach the big bad baddie. It’s got 2 player local co-op multiplayer, and it’s got cool graphics for what it is. Definitely worth a couple of bucks for fans of Final Fight or Dragon’s Crown or Bad Dudes, but don’t get me wrong—it’s not fantastic…but it’s a purchase I was happy with. 2-4 hours of fun.
