I'm going with an Ork just to do something totally different. I have all ready played as a Mage and Archer. I'm going with a Tank build this time around.
Really want to get this again, got it back in 2012 but only played about 70% of the game (before the expansions) before trading it in, I just grew bored with it at the time. Having gone on to play Oblivion which I loved, I'm excited to give Skyrim another go as I think I'll enjoy it more this time round. I'll probably wait until it drops in price though, this has Christmas sales discount written all over it
I got it today. I'll just be making a regular average joe humanoid, whenever I try and get fancy with the aesthetic of my builds I always end up regretting how they look! We'll see what direction I go with regard to skills but probably just sword/shield and a bit of bow.
I bought a copy for my girlfriend since she loves dragons/magic/all that stuff. She never got a chance to play initially since she was a PC gamer but her rig wasn't up to spec. Since then, I've converted her to console gaming, so I'm REALLY looking forward to watching her play it for the first time!
I, on the other hand, still have PTSD from plating it on PS3 pre-patches...
To save our Mother Earth from any alien attack
From vicious giant insects who have once again come back
We'll unleash all our forces we won't cut them any slack
The EDF deploys!!
@Splat: I'd like to know how does it run. Have you noticed any problem? I've never played the dlcs on 360 so maybe one day I'll give this a try...
EDIT: Is "I'd like to know how does it run" correct or should I write "I'd like to know how it runs"?
@andreoni79: I spoke to someone last night who was playing on Twitch and he said it was locked at 30fps.. I watched him for 30 minutes and it looked pretty fluid. He mentioned it's locked at 60fps 1080 and 30fps 4k upscaled on PSPro. Not sure where he got that info.
The more I think about it the more I'm amazed they had it running on PS3 with 256mb on RAM in the first place :/
Just done the intro section and got into the world map with not so much as a stutter, which is promising. Graphically it does look a bit better I guess but it's hard to tell since so much time has passed and games have got better looking. Deffinetly has a last gen look to it though. Don't mind that at all, at least it runs smoothly
@Tasuki: Me neither really, but I play it with the intention of never really completing it. Pick a direction and walk. Maybe I'll get there on day. To be fair though you've probably played enough COD to clear Skyrim a few times
If you stick to the main quest and use the travel feature it isn't THAT long honestly - and IIRC everything scales to your level. but you are not likely to stick to the main quest since there is so much to do.
@kyleforrester87: True, the difference at least for me with CoD, Overwatch etc. is that I mostly do multiplayer matches things that I can pick up play for in short bursts and I am good. The problem with games like Skyrim at least for me is that one more quest thing or oh I just need X amount of XP to gain level. Oh I just hit a new level I want to try this new weapon, stuff like that. I was the same way when it came to WoW and quite frankly I am afraid of that happening again which is why I avoid long games like Skyrim and such.

Apparently it still has all the bugs of the original.. & the interiors havent been given nearly enough attention as the exteriors. Having been modding this on PC im not feeling quite nostalgic enough to pay full-whack again for what basically looks like vanilla Skyrim with all DLC & ENB.
@Tasuki:
Yes, I know what you mean. With time at a premium as I get older, when games advertise 100 hours of gameplay, I used to get really excited, now I get put off as I believe I won't finish it.
@Tasuki: I've had that addiction with a MMORPG in the past (Ultima Online, awesome game!) but I've never had that issue with single player games. Yeah it's nice gearing up and building a stronger character but I never have issues when it's time to stop playing. It doesn't feel important to end Skyrim in the way that it does a game like The Witcher. You can just sort of play until you're done with it if you want.
@RPE83: I've not played a ton of it, I killed the first Dragon and unlocked my shouts and now I've ran off to Rorikstead. Actually the game does look prettier than I thought at first, they've done a pretty good job of it. I'm not overly keen on the "warmer" lighting that's used if I'm honest
Basically, it's Skyrim, a bit prettier and (so far) running at 30fps locked. Load times are quite a bit shorter.
