@mrobinson91: If you go to load your save game (not selecting continue, but actually select the save file from the list) it's detailed on the save description. Kinda tough to see at first!
okay, this being my first play through of Skyrim, I was determined to find a good build to use from online. After playing for a few hours on a new save slot, I realized, "wow I am an idiot...Just play the game and enjoy it!!!" The build will work itself out...so I am doing just a messed up hodge podge build that is a one-handed, sometime dual, archer, two-handed smasher. I am loving it!
@scubydo: Good to hear My understanding is after level 50 it's harder to gain levels (it's been a few years since I had a character 50+ but I do remember it slowed down) so perks get slower to earn. So while there is plenty of room for "error" perhaps don't rush to spend your perks. I believe smithing and enchanting are very important to build up if you want to have the strongest armour sets later in the game. There are some excelent archery perks (zoom/slow time). At level 26 I'm starting to see what I actually want to develop and what I don't, don't think it's worth using guides too much.
Don't bother putting any in lock picking though, totally pointless. Just pick the locks
I love smithing and enchanting. I put a good amount of perks in both regardless of what kinda of build I'm doing. You can find good armour out in the world but it won't be as good. It's also more satisfying to make it yourself IMO.
There are potions that you can get that increase smithing and enchanting for a short time. I highly recommend saving those and using at the right time.
I don't usually get to much involved in smiting, enchanting, alchemy in games but I'm going to make more of an effort in this. I've already made all my own armour and weapons and there is something satisfying about using stuff you've made rather than just picked off a corpse. I'm trying to stick to my non-magical build of axe & shield/ archer build but I'm constantly tempted by spells I always play as some sort of mage build in fantasy games so want to try something different. it's already giving me a good excuse for a second play through as a mage only build though

IIRC you really really want to go for the dragonscale armor - the leather based one not the plate, because you can easily hit the armor cap with the leather one and it lets you be sneakier.
A heads up for yous Dovahkinns out there...
A Skyrim Special Edition Steelbook Edition is right now on Amazon! Imho, it's better lookin' than BestBuy one. Available for PS4 + XBOX ONE.
Playing The Game... That Is Playing Me... Playing The Game...
@Splat: My logic was ill never want to play it again if I manage to platinum it so I'd rather enjoy some mods lol. I'm using a few..disabling God rays, really cleans up the picture and combined with the super scaling the game looks really nice. Suprised as I liked the god rays, actually. I have a few others but the best is the level rebalancer, gives way more appropriate loot - actually makes end of dungeon chests exciting to open and you actually get more gold from dragons than you spent on the arrows killing it.. Lol
I will try some more of the crazier stuff later on in the game.
