Yeah, loading times are without a doubt better. I'm about 5 hours in and no crashes or framerate drops. The graphics aren't night and day different but they are better forsure. The water and sky is where I notice it the most. I can't wait to play this on the PS4 Pro.
@RPE83: i'm still not sure if i'm gonna get it myself, i already have the Legendary Edition on PS3 and while this one does look better and have mods i'm not sure if that's enough to warrant getting it again
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
@andreoni79: I am having the same problem, and I realized that although my tv is a "HDTV" it is almost 10 years old, and it does not have any of the settings i need to fix the problem...ugh!!! So being it is a small 32" I may just buy a newer one so I can see my games better, if the wife will let me.
@scubydo: Mine is a 2009 LG. It seems I've been very lucky finding one of this. I spent € 250 and it was on a 50% sale so maybe this was a middle-high model for the times (fullHD and more settings that now are useful!).
EDIT: an example of the different zoom.
This is the minimap in TW3 in 16:9 mode
@kyleforrester87: Consider that the Just Scan option offers a bigger image than 16:9 with every game and with all the systems connected via HDMI. When I play with GameCube (scart) that optional is grayed out. First time I noticed the optional was with Fallout 3 on 360. I wonder if the Skyrim thing is due to the upcoming 4K compatibility.
@FullbringIchigo:
I can't say I've been "blown away" so far and I'm not sure I'll play it as much as I thought as it does feel VERY familiar. Too familiar even; i still know the dungeons so well its just a case of sprinting through every trap. Still, chopped in three games that were gathering dust and got it for under a fiver so nothing really lost.
I think my biggest issue is whether I play as a character I like byt have done to death in Skyrim before or do something like a mage I've not had too much interest in doing in the past. The problem being I've never had too much interest in magic characters.
@RPE83: If I'd done all the quests before there's no way I'd bother again to be fair - I only played about 1/4 of the game before so I'm doing stuff I didn't do last time.
@andreoni79: If I remember the vampires from it can be much more powerful than the towns they attack, effectively wiping quest hubs from the main game, but I think they only trigger once you start the dlc quest so you should be fine.
@scubydo: Skyrim is pretty forgiving on what path you take so a stealthy bowman, a swordsman, a caster or even a hybrid can do well. Crafted items and enchantments are also good things to learn, although they can make the game too easy. As for race, Brenton is probably the best, but the advantages are so small I wouldn't worry. Just play the game in a way you find fun and you should be fine.
@andreoni79: well, I tried playing around with my TV's regular menu today, and even our newer (yet older) HDTV still doesn't have the overscan option. But I was able to get it to where at least my menu's are not cut off on the sides. and in the upper left when it notifies of "You can't do that here" or "Auto saving" the Y and A are the only thing that is cut off now. I suppose I can live with this till we can afford for me to get a better gaming tv.
