Just curious to see different opinions on their top 10 PS4 games. Exclusives only so no GTA 5 for example.
Here are mine:
1. Red Dead Redemption 2
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
3. God Of War
4. Detroit Become Human (yes really)
5. Spiderman
6. Ratchet and Clank
7. Bioshock 1
8. Rise of The Tomb Raider
9. Watchdogs 1
10. Control
5 more fantastic games which didn't quite make my top 10:
Bioshock infinite
Uncharted 4
Resident Evil 2
Until dawn
Rayman Legends
Games I'm yet to play:
The Witcher 3
Res Evil 3
Shadow of The Tomb Raider
The Evil Within
1. the last of us remastered. (i know about the exclusive rule but i only played it on ps4 and it is way to good to leave out.)
2.uncharted 4.
3.GOW.
4.assassins creed odyssey.
5.horizon zero dawn.
6.shadow of the tomb raider.
7.the witcher 3.
8.detroid:become human.
9.the order 1886.
10.spiderman.
4 more awesome games but that did not make the list:
1.assassins creed origins.

3.a plaque tale innocence.
4.the evil within 2.
most anticipated ps4 games yet to release:
1.TLOU part 2
2.GOT
3.assassins creed valhalla.
@Stevo8576 Some of those on your list are not exclusives, so you've already broken your own rule. Plus there are still at least two more exclusives to go this year, so I think it is a bit early to be doing this.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Interesting to see Shadow Of The Tomb Raider above Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Either The Witcher 3 or Shadow of tomb raider to be my next game!
@Kidfried I found this a fascinating discussion, buried in the Days Gone thread and wanted to explore your (and anyone else’s) thoughts on it, and figured another thread might be more appropriate (although this thread isn’t exactly what you’re discussing, but it’s fairly close) —
As a reminder, this was a discussion about where Days Gone fits into the pantheon of Sony games; this was the part which caught my eye:
Just quickly and from the top of my head made a ranking for all big SIE games in the PS4 generation:
1. God of War
2. The Last Guardian
3. Horizon Zero Dawn
4. Days Gone
5. Ratchet & Clank
6. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
7. Gravity Rush 2
8. MediEvil
9. Dreams
10. Uncharted 4
11. Tearaway Unfolded
12. Until Dawn
13. Infamous First Light
14. LittleBigPlanet 3
15. The Order 1886
16. Infamous Second Son
Not played yet:
Death Stranding
Marvel's Spider-Man
The Last of Us Part II
Ghost of Tsushima
So a few things surprised me slightly. First was the relatively low ranking of the Infamous games. And secondly was the relatively high ranking of MediEvil. I think we usually share pretty common opinions about games, but I’d definitely put Infamous higher. And I actually haven’t even felt compelled to play MediEvil because it seemed to be tepidly received by most fans and critics. It’s funny because I actually was looking for games to buy on sale recently and thought briefly about MediEvil but simply could not get the least bit excited about it. Anyway, your high ranking makes me want to second guess putting it in the backlog.
I know this list was pulled out of thin air on the fly so it wasn’t meant to be comprehensive, but out of curiosity where would you include a few of Sony’s other 1st and 2nd party published properties:
Bloodborne, Detroit Become Human, Nioh 1/2, Erica, Concrete Genie, Tetris Effect, Drive Club, GT Sport, Killzone Shadow Fall, Resogun, or Knack 1/2 ? (Or others if they come to mind)
As it relates to open worlds —
In the other thread in your praise of Days Gone (which I also need to really play eventually) you also mentioned that you really prefer that a game’s open world to be an interesting playground for fun gameplay to occur, rather than just pretty scenery through which to travel from gameplay area to gameplay area (sorry, I’m paraphrasing 😄). If that’s the case, I think Spider-Man has a very interactive open world and I think you should enjoy that, with the swinging around being entertaining by itself, much less the random crimes and interactions along the way. Ghost of Tsushima is more of a “travel from one point of interest to another” type of open world, but honestly the journey following the wind and exploring for collectibles is unique enough to make that travel entertaining; I think maybe even more than Horizon, which yes has random enemies as you traverse around, but not foxes and birds to follow, haiku spots to create poetry, and hidden armor to find, among other activities. And traversing the open world of Death Stranding is actually the core gameplay component itself! Each journey from one objective to another is a puzzle-like game to solve how to navigate the terrain with a multitude of approaches possible. The travel through the open world was the best part of the game.
Anyways, hopefully that excites you a little more about those 3 excellent games. I think you were a little down on them (especially GoT) because others have said it’s a relatively boring and derivative open world and I think that’s not entirely true. Although I know it’s not for everyone.
Sorry for the long post! 😅

Detroit Become Human
Rise of The Tomb Raider
Uncharted 4
Resident Evil 2
Until dawn
Rush of Blood

Blue Reflection

The PSVR is the best VR system on the market today.
@Th3solution MediEvil was a decent game. I’d never played the original but the remake played quite nicely while having that classic PS1 vibe to it. A couple of levels left me feeling nauseous due to the camera angle and certain motion on screen but I think that’s just me at this point. The platinum was a little annoying in that you have to complete every level twice however. It felt like a total chore by the end.
1. Bloodborne
2. God of War
3. Metal Gear Solid V
4. Nier: Automata
5. Dark Souls 3
6. Horizon: Zero Dawn
7. Nioh
8. Death Stranding
9. Control
10. Days Gone
@Kidfried Most levels were alright for the second time but certain ones like the sphinx’s puzzle were insanely tedious. That Sphinx level gave me a headache too, the top down camera combined with the frame drops did not agree with my eyes.
1. Marvel's Spider-Man
2. God of War (2018)
3. Ghost of Tsushima
4. Bloodborne
5. Uncharted 4
6. Persona 5 Royal
7. Tearaway Unfolded
8. Gravity Rush 2
9. Shadow of the Colossus
10. Ratchet & Clank (2016)
Red Dead Redemption 2
Horizon Zero Dawn
Detroit Become Human
Bioshock
Rise of The Tomb Raider
Watchdogs
Control
At least seven of your top ten games aren't exclusive, my dude. Well, I guess of them are technically "console exclusive."
Top ten games I've actually played on a PS4. Well...
Tetris Effect
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Persona 5 Royal
Horizon Zero Dawn + DLC
Gravity Rush 2
Rayman Legends
NieR Automata
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted 4
Peggle 2
When I get around to more fully experiencing the PS4's library, that list will probably look significantly different. It'd also look different if I included multiplats I played on different systems, like Vita or Switch.
I’m not very good at ranking games, I always forget stuff. Plus I actually haven’t really loved a lot of the big exclusives. I’m counting Yakuza though, it got ported almost a generation later. Plus I’m counting console exclusives.
1. Yakuza 0
2. God of War
3. Persona 5
4. Uncharted 4
5. Spider-Man
6. Death Stranding
7. Astro Bot
8. Bloodborne
9. The Last of Us Remastered
10. Yakuza Kiwami 2
I'll keep the list simple and only include the favourites that I've played on PS4. So this list will be missing games I've played elsewhere (such as Danganronpa), and potentially great games that I haven't yet played (such as Spider-Man).
1. Nier: Automata
2. Persona 5
3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Game of the Year Edition)
4. Yakuza 0
5. Monster Hunter World (& Iceborne expansion)
6. Hitman 3 (including the Hitman 1 & 2 legacy content)
7. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone
8. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
9. Shadow of the Colossus
10. Fall Guys
11. Red Dead Redemption 2
12. Heavy Rain
13. Uncharted 1: Drake's Fortune
14. Horizon Zero Dawn
15. Until Dawn
I can't help a good list - my game choices (admittedly, not all exclusive but I played them on PS4).
1) Bloodborne
2) God of War
3) Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition
4) Everybody's Gone To The Rapture
5) Hyper Light Drifter
6) TLOU
7) AstroBot: Rescue Mission
8) Shadow of the Colossus
9) Bound
10) Ratchet and Clank
If I was to go Sony console exclusives the list would change to:
1) Bloodborne
2) God of War
3) Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
4) TLOU
5) Astrobot Rescue Mission
6) Bound
7) Shadow of the Colossus
8) Horizon Zero Dawn
9) Ratchet and Clank
10) Ghost of Tsushima
My top 10 played on the ps4 and top 10 exclusives are a little bit different so I'll do 2.
Top 10 Ps4 games:
1. God Of War
2. The Witcher 3
3. The Last of Us
4. The Last of Us 2
5. Hellblade
6. Horizon Zero Dawn
7. Nier automata
8. Uncharted series
9. Bloodborne
10. Red Dead Redemption 2
My Exclusive list of what I've managed to play
1.God of War
2. TLOU
3.TLOU2
4. Horizon Zero Dawn
5. Uncharted Series
6. Bloodborne
7. Spider-man
8. Days Gone
9. Detroit Become Human
10. Ratchet & Clank
@Kidfried Fair enough and it certainly makes sense to me. I can’t judge because I never played MediEvil, so I’m interested in your opinion. There are going to be those games that just ‘click’ for us individually, and ones that don’t, even though objective breakdown of the game might say something different. In fact my #1 game is indefensible as far as a lot of the technical hiccups like the control scheme and the things like the slow pacing and lack of cohesive narrative. But for some reason it just always comes back to mind as my absolute classic video game artistic experience.
So anyways , here’s my list(s). I’ll start with the console exclusives or Sony published games first:
1. Shadow of the Colossus Remake
2. Uncharted 4 / Lost Legacy
3. Death Stranding
4. God of War
5. Bloodborne
6. Detroit Become Human
7. Horizon Zero Dawn
8. Ghost of Tsushima
9. Spider-Man
10. Infamous SS / First Light
11. Resogun
12. Ratchet & Clank
13. The Order 1886
14. Persona 5
15. Until Dawn
16. Dreams
17. Concrete Genie
18. Gravity Rush 2
19. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture
20. Erica
Notable exclusions that I haven’t played yet which would likely crack the list are: Days Gone, The Last of Us 2, 13 Sentinels, Nioh.
It’s a little tough to know how to categorize games that aren’t Sony funded but remain only on PlayStation console like Persona 5. There aren’t many of these so I included P5 into this list.
———————
As far as taking all multi-platforms into account, I’d probably go with:
1. Shadow of the Colossus Remake
2. Uncharted 4 / Lost Legacy
3. Death Stranding
> 4. Metal Gear Solid V
5. God of War
6. Bloodborne
> 7. NieR Automata
8. Detroit Become Human
9. Horizon Zero Dawn
> 10. Resident Evil 2 Remake
> 11. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
> 12. Red Dead Redemption 2
13. Ghost of Tsushima
14. Spider-Man
15. Infamous SS / First Light
Apologies for going over 10, despite the thread’s title. It really does come down to splitting hairs at a few spots on both lists. And that’s what makes it hard to limit to 10, as I’d consider a lot of these positions as basically ‘ties’ with the one above it.
And my options may vary slightly depending on the day. If I make this list tomorrow it might be different 😄
1. Final Fantasty 7 Remake
2. Persona 5 Royal
3. TLOU Franchise
4. God of War
5. Ghost of Tsushima
6. Apex Legends
7. Dark Souls 3
8. Nioh 2
9. Nier Automata
10. Red Dead Redemption 2
We truly were blessed this generation with some incredible games, some of them among the best of all times. Being a proud owner of each PS console some of my fondest memories come from PS4 generation.
@Arugula Yeah, exclusivity is fairly nebulous with a lot of these games, even with ignoring PC ports. I’d typically consider Yakuza 0 basically a PS exclusive but it has finally ported to Xbox I think. It only took like 5 years, but it’s there now I guess, along with most of the series. Some haven’t ported yet like Yakuza 6. It’s just a weird situation.
And Ni No Kuni 2 is still only found on PlayStation 4, as far as I know, so no need to pull that game off the list.
@Rudy_Manchego Interesting inclusion of Bound. And I also didn’t realize this was a PlayStation exclusive. Seeing as I have this in my library from PS Plus, there’s no excuse for me not to try this out. Anything specific that you like about it?
