... It just occurred to me that I wasn't sure where to post this thread. Hmm, that can go on the list for our next meeting. Anyway: health, happiness, shelter, family, etc. These are all things that many of us are thankful for and they are the important things in life. However, this is a gaming website, and I wondered what you're thankful for from a gaming perspective.
My answer is simple: I'm thankful for PlayStation. While we have an up-and-down relationship, this brand has provided me with the opportunity to do something I love every single day, and allowed me to connect with people I never thought I would both in person and online.
Probably a bit of a cringe-worthy paragraph, but I sometimes forget why I do this in the first place, so it's always nice to remind myself.
What are you thankful for in gaming? Could be anything from a specific character, all the way through to a certain emotion... Post away!
I am thankful for Nintendo, PlatinumGames and any company whose games have colour, sense of humour, excel at gameplay and can be shared with friends and family.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
I'm thankful for gaming in general. It's helps me get into my own little world with all the characters in all the different games I've played over the years. And I'm actually really thankful for PushSquare because it has been the first real forum that I've signed up to and I really feel accepted and that makes me feel good! So a big thank you to PushSquare, Super Mario, Abe (Oddworld), Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter and to every other video game character that I've played as over the years!
I'm thankful for Playstation, it's given me more entertainment that I pay for, they have great first-party games that aren't colorful platforms and don't have mature content in them.I'm greatful for the GOTY Second Son too, and Sucker Punch in general with Sly Cooper which was my childhood. I'm grateful for NintendoLife and Pushsquare. Nintendolife has a fun forum; Pushsquare gives me a great place to check the news, read and post comments with moderation so people aren't dropping F bombs, has a forum that's getting more active as times goes by, staff that interact with you, and hiliarious game of the month vidoes (A 10 has been given to Sammy Barker, lock him up and throw away the keys before it happens agian.) I'm grateful for Diggitally Downloaded. It's another good news site that provides an interesting new perspective on things, and also has moderated commetns and great staff interaction. And finally, I'm grateful that I'll be getting Destiny for Christmas. It's a game I really want, but haven't been able to get becuase I can't noramally play online, but they're letting me get Destiny. I could go on, but I think I've made a good enough list for.
I'm thankful for PlayStation in general. A good portion of my childhood was spent on the PS1 and PS2, and I have lots of gaming memories.
I'm thankful for Naughty Dog, for making great games that were a huge part of my childhood. I've spent a lot of time playing Crash Bandicoot, with Crash 2 being my favorite game of all time. I also still have my original copies of Crash 3 & CTR from 2000. 14 years of mileage there. Of course there's also Jak, a true classic to me, and Uncharted, one of my favorite games in recent years. I just need Last of Us.
I'm thankful for Insomniac, for bringing the endless fun I've had with the Spyro trilogy & the Ratchet & Clank series, my favorite franchise.
Hideo Kojima, for making Metal Gear, my 2nd favorite franchise.
Katsuhiro Harada & Namco, for making Tekken, my favorite fighting game and for all the friends I made from Tekken.
And I'd like to thank this site, for having a great community, and being a cool place in general. I haven't been here long, but I love it.

I am thankful that we have a gaming industry here in NA. While that may seem like nothing now I have seen documentaries and stuff about the Video Game Crash of 83 and saw what people thought of video games back then. I am thankful that now they are such a mainstay in society where you are not looked down on by other people. I remember when I was growing up if you said you played video games you were labeled as a nerd. Now it amazes me when big name celebrities aren't ashamed to say that they play Mario Kart or World of Warcraft or Madden or whatever.
Most of all I am thankfully for having a hobby that I can share with my son. Some of our best times we had are playing games.

I'm thankful for gaming in general. It's my favourite hobby and I dedicated countless hours to it and I'm really glad I did. I'm also glad that gaming in Brazil, while not ideal by a long shot, has become a lot better with more games being released and the price becoming more reasonable (after a time). I'm also glad that I have a good job which allows me to invest some of the money I have in gaming and now I realize that my "problem" with gaming is more of time than of money. This year I'm extremely grateful for Nintendo for releasing such great games as Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. and Bayonetta 2. I'm also glad for my Nintendo 3DS and for playing great games from TellTale, such as The Wolf Among Us and the Season 2 of Walking Dead on my PS3 and my Vita. At last, I'm thankful for the comunity here as it is, most of the time, I really wonderful one. Thanks you for everything, guys.
I'm thankful for growing up in a time that allowed me to experience all the gaming glory including NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, PC, GAMECUBE and XBOX, beyond that I consider it the "modern" era which is more and more plagued by buggy games and greedy corporations. My all-time-favourite games must therefore be: Super Mario World, Mortal Kombat II, UFO Enemy Unknown and Battlefield 1942!

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.

Well said. I too miss the days when games actually shipped as finished products, not requiring massive day 1 patches for the game to even work and several more patches for the game to actually work well.
I also miss the simplicity of the older consoles. Back then you put the game in, turned the system on, and the game started. Now you have to turn the system on and find the game in convoluted menus.
And don't even get me started when it comes to juggling controllers on the Wii U. Turn the system on, turn the Pro Controller on, turn the display on the GamePad off, use the Pro Controller to exit the Home menu, and THEN I can finally start my game. The worst is with Smash Bros. where the Game Cube controller doesn't work with the menus. So after I turn the GamePad off I have to turn a Wii-mote on so that I can exit the Home menu and select the game icon from the Start menu. Jeez...
My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

That... sounds... pretty cumbersome... to me. And yes you're right. NES and SNES all the way. Simplicity!!

Even older systems had issues. The NES was not that simple, unfortunately.
"Put game in, push it down, hope it works.
Doesn't work - light is blinking - try again"
This time, game shows up but is blinking. Try again.
Back to no screen. Continue to troubleshoot."
The SNES was probably the most reliable system I've had.
I'm thankful for Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, the Nintendo DS, the Playstation 2 and 3, The Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros and it's ability to gather me and my friends together, Mario and him making me realize that there are actually good video games, and Kingdom Hearts for getting me into RPGs.
But most importantly, having the big three video game companies (Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft), 'cause video gaming would NEVER be the same without them. Nor would it be the same without communities like this and several others.
Cheers to GAMING!!!
Ever sense I played the GBA I saw Hyrule, saved Peach, defeated the Underworld, flew in the Arwing and went on many adventures on other consoles.
Can't wait for Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XVI Ratchet and Clank: The Movie and PS4!
