Your question reminds me @velio84, I found one of those up-gusts which you can use to jump super high on torrent… I was concentrating on finding all of the braziers at the time though and didn’t use it. I meant to use it on the way back but forgot all about it… sounds like I’ll have to go back 😉
@nessisonett I do like how you can just put yourself on a waiting list and you basically know your approximate place in the queue. Allows you to budget your money and establish appropriate expectations for when you'll be able to play it.

Am I the only one that isn't enjoying this game at all? I finished all previous From Software games multiple times but this one ain't doing it and I'm seriously considering dropping it
Exploration became a chore 30 hours in and bosses are incredibly poorly designed in my opinion what with their massive health pools and constant spamming stunlocking aoe attacks that many times one shot you despite having a vigor of 40 . And don't get me started on the copy and paste nature of the game such as facing the same side bosses over and over and over again to earn runes
I could theoretically cheese it by changing to a mage and use the busted mimic but that doesn't sound fun to me . The game is basically everything people accused Dark Souls 2 of being but somehow way worse . The late game is simply atrocious and by the mid point the game had started to become stale for me
Rant over haha
To be fair if it took 30 hours to be a chore its way ahead of most open world games. That said I’m 120 hours in and can’t stop exploring and finding time to play.
As for bosses with huge health pools, I disagree. In fact, compared to almost any other game bosses are not at all “bullet sponges”, which seems to be how other games manage difficulty. In a high damage build you can easily kill even the main bosses in less than 10 hits (that’s not a science number, just an example).
@Mega-Gazz Yeah, the only boss I’d describe as a bullet sponge is Fire Giant. Struggling to think of any others. Even the Crystalians take way more damage once you stagger them once. Maybe the dragons at a stretch.
Just finished the academy, respec. and using moonviel. What a difference from just uchi. Biggest problem now is not enough focus. Thanks to all who recommend it. Getting my int to 29 for the 3 sword spell, then focus. As long as im a bit into int anyways. Not sure where to go next only 2 bosses down. Maybe south?
@Elodin Which bosses have you done then? Assuming Godrick @ Stormveil and then Renalla @ Academy?
After Renalla I went on to Caria Manor, which is just north - good boss fight there! And then I went East over to Caelid to take on Radahn.... which would be a good test for your new build/Moonveil.
The more I read about Moonveil, the more I want to try it out. But currently I'm still enjoying my dual wield blood samurai build... so might wait until this gets stale! (+ I've invested so much time and energy into upgrading Nagakiba katana to +15... ha)
I didn't play much today, and the much I played. I lost 7K, I found this pretty purple underground area, and got jacked up LOL.
And I can't even get to the academy, because well, I got ruined. Well, Nothing looking around and killing some bosses and upgrades wont fix.
Tomorrow, I'm going to take that thing I got from godrick, find the tower and activate it.
Over all, today was me learning that I will indeed still get my ass handed to, but, im ok with that.
I'm also going to try my hand at the character creator again and hope I get something I like a lot more then what I have. I also still need to figure out my load, because I would like the use the bigger weapons without dragging across the floor LOL.
Man This game is amazing, and boy do I want to play other FS games, one thing at a time tho.

The crystalians take lots of damage if you use strike weapons - I keep a spiked club around for that.

I've been making slow progress this week with stupid real life getting in the way. Did beat the dragon in Liurnia of the Lakes last night, so have made it pass the gate. I actually snuck by it and swiped the key, but I almost beat it when it woke up. So thought might as well give it a few more goes. Wasn't too bad in the end and only ended up using two health flasks in the end.

@Mega-Gazz It's just my luck that they've nerfed the mimic ash summon when I've just gotten to a boss that's going to be very difficult to beat without it at full strength. Curses!
@lolwhatno Its alright, I'm just not sure if I should invest my upgrades in that, over stuff like heath and attack, does the load go up by much when you level? Because I have leveled a few times but im not really feeling it.

@Elodin I've been rocking the Moonveil and so far it's been good. I don't know if the latest patch has changed anything though but gave it a quick go this morning and it seems just as powerful as it was before.
@CJD87 I did switch to using a shield for the Red Wolf of Radagon fight and it took me a while to get my head fighting with a shield after using dual wield for so long. I tried to make the guard counters work as I'd seem people mention that being a good mechanic but my timing was always out and even when I hooked it up the wolf had moved back far enough that it negated my attacks. Got it done in the end though and then got wiped out by that NPC after the staircase with the boulders rolling down it. I thought I'd be smart the next time round to see if I could get him run over so tracked back down the stairs with him in tow and it did get him a few times but then he ran away and wouldn't come back so I ended up running past him while he was distracted. Hope I didn't have to kill him for any reason!.
So how does two handing a weapon work? and dual wielding? So far I have been Enjoying my shield, I don't parry but I like to make those comeback attacks when I get hit, and does dual wielding mean I have to be naked?

@Snatcher Dual wielding means you can equip a weapon in each hand so that you are using two swords rather than a sword and a shield. It gives you an extra attack on L1 which uses both blades and can be very effective. I've been using two Katanas which work really well together but I can't comment on how the mechanic works with other weapon types. Whether you have to play naked will all depend on the total weight of the equipment you have currently equipped or personal preference 😀
Edit: Sorry forgot to mention that two handing a weapon means you put your shield away so you have extra power with your attacks plus you can use your sword skill which you won't be able to do if you've got a skill equipped on your shield. You can do this if you press triangle and then R1 and do the same to switch back to one handed.
So 20 hours later & 20 levels later from facing Margit I went back to him.
That was incredibly satisfying. After dying like 20 times to him, the fight must have lasted about 15 seconds.
I have pretty much filled out the entire map & graces until this point. Left some of the sub-bosses till later. I got to the top of Divine tower of Caelid & got 1 shotted by regular enemies, so I figured I leave that area till later.
I’ve got the mimic veil now & I can tell I’m going to have a bit of fun with that.
@kyleforrester87 I’ve got a second talisman slot now, so there’s no need not to use it for now.
My favourite sub-boss so far is the Ancestor Spirit. The move set is pretty basic, but the atmosphere & the visuals are top notch. Hope there’s more of that.
