Hey all, it's Monday so here's the midweek fastest lap challenge. A quick reminder for anyone that hasn't taken part yet, each week I'll pick a different track and car combination - hopefully one that we've all got from playing the campaign or one that isn't too expensive from the used car or brand central dealers and we then see who out of all of us can set the fastest lap with it using the TT mode on the specific track. It's open to anyone from novice to seasoned players and is just a bit of fun with the only prize on offer being the feeling of smugness knowing that you've beaten your fellow Push Square forum members.
This week I've coupled a car usually driven by a certain type of people with a track that I know people will also feel quite strongly about, and for a real kicker it's the REVERSE layout (take note @Kairu 😉)
Track: Dragon Trail - Seaside Reverse Car: BMW M3 '07 Settings: Default settings sheet (if you think you might have changed settings just create a new sheet) Tyres: Sports Hard Time of day: 09:30 Method:
The idea is to go in blind, no practice using the track / car combo before hand and no restarting - this is going to rely on everyone being honest as there's really no way to police this. Any day Monday to Thursday this week go to World Circuits, select the track followed by Time Trial -
Select the specific time of day -
Select the car and tyres -
You've got 5 laps to put together a solid lap time. Once you've crossed the line on the 5th lap exit the time trial and take a screenshot of the times screen as per this example:
Upload the image to Twitter or another sharing service e.g. imgur.com and post the link here. Please try and leave it till Friday to post your screenshot so as not to influence other peoples times but I can appreciate that this won't always be possible e.g. going on holiday. I'll take a look at all the screenshots and pick the driver with the fastest lap and they will be awarded the prize of being a Smug G(i)T and be able to bask in the glory of their achievement for an entire week before we start all over again.
Please let me know if you are thinking of taking part as it'd be great to gage interest, otherwise your time starts now - good luck with your ultimate driving machine!
Push Square GT7 Fastest Lap Challenge - results week 5
That's week 5 of the Push Square Fastest Lap Challenge wrapped up. That BMW was quite different over a full lap than I was expecting. Sponges for brakes and at times it felt like a bit of a barge but at least it had a bit of top speed. It seems at the moment we've got one every week but this weeks RTFM award goes to @JudgeDredd with a classic - using the wrong car. Can't wait to see what turns up next week.
Congrats to Kairu for just pipping Mr_B021 to that top spot. I thought Mr_B021 had got it done until that last minute entry there. Well done to Abarth_71 for getting back to the podium and setting a very respectable time. All you guys truly are BMW drivers 😎

As we all missed out on driving the Alfa yesterday I've only gone and included one in the challenge this week. Perhaps as it's an Alfa it's more a question of whether you will get to the end rather than how fast but this one should be interesting.

There we go, week 6 all wapped up. Sorry the results are slightly late this time round but that's what happens when you get into a heated game of Hunt: Showdown. Without further ado it's time to see who was the Alpha Alfa.
There's quite a few missing from this weeks challenge so I'll probably see how it goes next week and then make a call as to whether to put it down for a bit. Hopefully catch you guys for the next one.

@Quintumply Bad luck, hope you weren't too ill with it and you are feeling better now. It's better now it's less of an issue for the majority of people but still can hit you quite hard regardless of age / fitness etc. Looking forward to seeing your time this week 😀
