Hopefully this will be useful to at least one person here.
I have recently discovered that even if you have a HDR capable TV, you will have to turn on the function from the TV settings, this is something I had no idea about until yesterday! I always just assumed my TV didn't have that feature, now I know and the difference is really quite noticeable.
The other thing I found is that if you have a VR connected (HDMI from Playstation into VR unit and then into TV) that also means that HDR won't work as the VR processor isn't compatible with it.
So now the PS5 is plugged directly into the TV with HDR enabled and it's excellent!
I'm getting an HDMI switch switch so I can connect my PS5 output either directly to the TV, for HDR, or through the VR1 processor when I play VR games. So will use two inputs to the TV.
I know I won't get 120hz through the switch, might just use a coupler to join the PS5 output lead to the TV input lead on the odd occasion I'll ever play at 120.
