R&C Rift for sure
GT7 possibly. But the game just annoys me nowadays as it's just the same game rehashed to look and sound better. The only way I could find more enjoyment out of it is a steering wheel setup but that's going to cost hundreds. Can't justify that.
I'll get the Spiderman game eventually but will prob wait for it to go on sale.
I'm sure more will be announced soon enough. Maybe not launch but within 6 months I'm sure there will be greatness that we don't know about yet.
Yeah, Astro's Playroom is a neat little bonus for getting the system.
Horizon, Spider-Man, GT7, Ratchet & Clank, Little Devil Inside, and Kena are all on my to-buy list. I'll probably get Sackboy if it's €40 (and I suspect it will be). Returnal looks interesting too, but I need to see more.
Horizon, Spider-man, Demon Souls, Deathloop, Ratchet and Clank. That will do me for now. TBH only about 2 or 3 games I had zero interest in, all the other games announced I at least had a smidge of interest in.
@Wavey84 I had to look at the videos in 4K to be really wowed, and if you look at comparisons videos you can see there there actually is quite a bit of an improvement. But you need look at beyond at just how good the graphics look and at stuff like the level of detail and how much is going on.
The first wave of games you are never going to see a huge difference in visual quality, but I think you are being disingenuous by saying that some of the games look like PS3 games. Have you seen PS3 games running recently? There was nothing I saw that looked like that. Which games in particular did you that of? Think that that could just the art style they are using maybe?
In regards to originality and innovation, that will come more from how developers use the Dual Sense controller and the SSD. Could Sony done more to show these things off? Maybe, but this was only a first look at some of the games coming. They could have done something what Nintendo did with Switch and the HD rumble, but I think that is not really Sony's style the moment and probably be ridiculed more than praised for using that approach.
There are third party controllers available for PS4 which mimic the Xbox stick positions, no doubt there will be some available eventually for PS5.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Here's a list of my Day One Purchases, in order of release. I also included my detailed reasoning for why I'd pay full price at Launch so I can play them ASAP.
1.) Kena: Bridge of Spirits - From what I've seen of the launch trailer, this game hits my anime obsession and love for childish/cute stuff so much! I'm intrigued to learn more about Kena, her mentor, and the dark evil forces at play.
2.) Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Spidey was my first and most fave superhero, plus I enjoyed Miles Morale's character and story arc/personal growth in both the Spiderverse movie and Spider-Man 2018 PS4 game.
3.) Harry Potter RPG - I've been in love with the franchise since I was first introduced to Book 1 (Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone) in 5th grade.
4.) Goodbye Volcano High - I'm not a furry or whatever the dinosaur/scaled version is called, but always been intrigued by their community, plus it's an animated Life is Strange so big win right there.
5.) Horizon: Forbidden West - First game took me by surprise, wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Definitely want to play the second game ASAP!
6.) Stray - You get to play as a probably super smart cat in a dystopian world run by robots, with humanity mysteriously gone extinct? What more do I need to know? =D
7.) Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 - I loved the original when I played it in my Middle School years, was my gateway entry into JRPGs and the Final Fantasy series. So when I ended up loving Remake Part 1, you bet your butt I'm hyped for Part 2!
8.) God of War 2 - I just recently beat this masterpiece, was so enthralled into it. I'm definitely picking up the inevitable sequel.
9.) Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - I LOVED this game so much, except for the super sad part at the end . Definitely looking forward to the inevitable proper sequel, after Insomniac is done with both the Miles Morales spinoff and R&C: Rifts Apart.
10.) Project Athia - No clue what this game is about but looks very anime and is made by Square Enix. If this ever becomes a real game will be keeping my eye on it.
11.) Ratchet & Clank: Rifts Apart - I've been a BIG fan of this series since I blind bought the first PS2 game with some birthday money.
12.) Scarlet Nexus - Another game to feed my anime desires, and to tide me over until Astral Chain eventually gets ported over to PS4/PS5 (Unless that happens first, but I'll just end up playing SN after beating AC).
13.) The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - I never read the LOTR/Hobbit books, but suffice to say I have enjoyed the Movies for both alot! I'll be buying Day One unless they screw it up really badly.
