Topic: Returnal

@JohnnyShoulder The sun fragment in B5? I hope this is not too much of a spoiler but it's in the one place you didn't check

I picked up Returnal in this past sale. What a game. I'm at the second Biome. A bit stuck at the moment. I think I haven't seen the right drops for a good load out for the boss fight. I mainly go for the carbine. I like to get an astronaut as well.
I also heard the sound was great with headphones. First game I used headphones on. I only have cheap ones, but even with those WOW. That sound and deep bass along with the dual sense, fantastic!

I am so excited for Returnal 2.

@Voltan Oh you tease! I will have a look as I'm still in the middle of the same run.

@Elodin Glad you are having fun! Sounds like you are making some good progress. Yeah the 3D audio is brill, I was a bit indifferent about it before but am sold on it now. I was gonna get the Pulse headset, but apparently the Platinums cans I have handle 3D audio just as well, if not a bit better.

@johncalmc I'd go for a Returnal 2 or something completely different if it's anywhere near this good.

@Elodin The 3D audio is great, and I was one of those people who originally thought that it was just a bit better than stereo. This game really makes it shine. Basically Housemarque have nailed it with all the features PS5 has to offer, more so than any other Sony 1st Party studio (I can say that now).

@render I reckon I should finish act 3 by bed time lol, but still got one or two bits to collect for the plat. Entirely possible though!

@velio84 Audio in Ratchet is pretty much like in Miles Morales - the 3D is there but not nearly as pronounced as in Returnal. Also I think it’s actually a bit better played without headphones since the controller speaker is utilized in some cool ways.

@Voltan how do you put a spoiler warning on things? I would like to talk about the house segments, but I don't want to spoil things.

@Just_2_milky BBCode 101 for you: put stuff between [tag] and [/tag] to give it some property. Replace the word “tag” with an actual tag like “strong” (for a bold font), “img” (to post an image - with an URL between the tags) or “spoiler” for you know what

I hope that’s clear enough - it’s kinda hard to post an example without it actually becoming the thing

@Voltan Remember you can use an asterisk instead of strong! So much easier!

@nessisonett Yeah, but if you try to edit your post you'll see it's just resolved into "strong" tags anyway

@Just_2_milky It'll be interesting to see your take on things. I don't think we've talked too much about the story on here really apart from the odd word or two. I've probably changed my mind about what is happening several times, and I'm still not convinced I'm right about any of it 😂

@render I have no idea what is happening. Act one was crazy, the house sequence after was brilliant, the little girl putting down the dual sense and the astronaut’s hug turning into tentacles was freaky! I think the flashes of the copper sun on the wall in cutscenes are important, as I know the sun fragments exist, but I have no idea what for.

@velio84 IMO that's exactly why they shouldn't! Leave it open to interpretation

@Just_2_milky The house sequences are all very harrowing and probably ask more questions than they answer. Keep going and then see how you feel about things when you get a little further along.
