@phil_j yeah I'm inclined to agree about the S & L tweet probably being a little too on the nose for Kojima. Hadn't seen anything about the whole CreateQ-Mayflower thing... its a particular huge stretch but Interesting all the same.
Well, whatever the outcome... there will be a lot of eyes on the app tomorrow.
@colonelkilgore I think this Hasan fella just wanted to build some interest by playing off the SH rumours. And then like I said, there are loads of hilarious coincidences like the one above that have just snowballed the thing.
He's downplayed it a little, but if he really wanted to put it to bed, he could just walk around the Blue Box office with his phone filming a little bit of the employees working, instead of the bizare way he's going about providing proof. So I'd say he's happy for it to build a little bit of hype, whilst still saying, look I denied it.
It's a shame some people take it too seriously though. It's been the most internet entertainment I've had for ages. Hopefully he manages to get the trailer app out tomorrow, and his game looks decent, and nobody throws their toys out the pram when it's not Silent Hill.
@phil_j same, it's just been genuinely fun to look into and postulate about.
I'm just listening to MBG's most recent stream on the subject from Tuesday. On it he discusses a conversation he had with Hasan and that he is going to take the guy at his word. He also stayed that when the App drops, it still won't unveil the game straight away đ¤. No time frame but it looks like it'll be dragging on at least a little while longer.
Maybe if Sony do have a summer event, they will announce that for those who have the Abandoned App that you can now watch the trailer or something along those lines.
So RobinGaming, who had somewhat lost his love for covering the industry of late has rediscovered his enthusiasm. This is his third and most recent vid on the subject. The stuff it covers is just the latest and nowhere near as potentially indicative as the info thatâs been circulating all week but itâs nice to see a guy who is reinvigorated by this:
The latest theory is that 'the' App (if it rematerializes) will be a way to interact with the various game reveals at the rumoured/supposed Sony Summer event. The wording on the App info (before it was removed) could definitely lend it self to that purpose.
After reading about even more insane coincidences today, I believe we are either dealing with the world's unluckiest indie developer, or the world's greatest ever ARG game.
@phil_j I've been wavering back and forth all week. Pretty much always around the 55%-45% either way... but after all the 'Father' info and NUARE unfollowing basically everyone bar Kojima and Bluebox (as well as being far too expensive for a $250k indie) I'm in the 'greatest ARG of all time' camp right now.
@jdv95@Dogmanstar in all honesty, judging from what Hasan said to MBG, we won't learn anything from the App going live anyway. It sounds like there will be a game (or gameS) reveal on the App sometime after its release.
@jdv95 yeah I just read the article... craziest game-news/no-news I can remember. I wonder how the interwebz will deal with at least 6 more weeks of nothing.
Believe it or not, the patch is live. Iâm not touching it myself but Iâd be lying if I said I wasnât weirdly excited to see Twitter reactions lol
Edit: apparently the app right now lets you play the short teaser that everybodyâs already seen and says âtrailer coming soonâ and âplayable prologue coming soonâ
