@kyleforrester87 I will probably just do that tbh, my AC binge session can be put on hold for this.

The only reason I wanna wait is because there are some big texture streaming issues that will be resolved in the day one patch but I can probably ignore that.

I paid £55 including shipping but I get a lovely acrylic stand and the summon materia with it so I'm feeling like I got my monies worth.

And smart thinking from you, are you gonna get it digitally on the 10th or you gonna go to a local shop?

@DonJorginho I'm going to get it digitally, it wasn't my first choice but given delays with deliveries and generally my slight preference not to add to the mail chaos if I can help it I am going to download it. If I can get it preloaded in time I might even get going with it at midnight that way.

I figure if I really like it, there will eventually be a physical complete collection that I can grab.

@LN78 Yeah mate, day one patch comes on the 10th.

Massive texture issues from what I've seen and heard, will be resolved on the 10th which is what I'm waiting for as I wanna experience the game in the best way possible.

The issue is that it keeps loading in low Res versions of the hd textures so it can have severe pop in but this will be fixed on day one.

But the game is apparently amazing.

@kyleforrester87 I was going to go digital for the same reason but FF7 has such amazing memories with me I had to order it.

Gonna have to drop off my other copy of the game for my mother who wants to play it, she played it with me and my older sister when we grew up so we all have good memories to reflect on with this game so my Mum said she wanted to try it so I got her a Pro and the game so she'll enjoy that in self isolation!

@LN78 Don't most, if not all games have a day one patch these days? Can't think of one the didn't

@kyleforrester87 The guide i got details some of the filler content. There be mini games! Not sure if i want to read it before in play the game for fear of spoilers.

strange that they did not give out the day one patch early alongside the early release.

@KratosMD Still think you should crack out the original and play through Midgar over the next 48 hours.

@kyleforrester87 @KratosMD I know I’m an old hand at Midgar by now but it’s definitely feasible to do it in the original in a day or two. If anything, it’ll help you appreciate the changes.

I wouldn't worry about playing the "unfinished" version before the day one patch. If you played the original you played a version where the Magic Defense stat on armour didn't do anything at all. That has eventually been fixed decades later by a fan patch. There are hundreds of glitches and thousands of translation errors in the original that have been fixed only recently by fans - all things that didn't stop us loving the original (and things that really disprove the "old games used to be released without any need for patches" myth).

Anyway, add me to the list of people getting it early. 😁

@Matroska Things are different now. If a big release has any major bugs or glitches the internet seeems to go into meltown which brings out all the cry babies and trolls. Plus the only way to fix things officially back then was to release a new version of the game with the fixes. If people want to wait until the game is patched I think that is entirely understandable as people have different levels of what they can overlook when playing a game.

@belmont OHH I saw some stuff i wasn't expecting, such as Clouds mum so i'm guessing that some of the stuff that happened outside Midgar in the original now happens inside Midgar, i'm not bothered because Kalm for example was literately just there for the flash back so if they do that inside Midgar i'm OK

Wow, it did actually arrive today. Seems like they sent them out earlier than needed by quite a lot.

Though can anyone else that got it early say if they got the Chocobo Chick code? I only have the Cactuar one at the moment.

On another note, this is another game that has my Pro constantly jet-engining away. Like, I'm only on the title screen and it's been like sitting on the wing of a plane for the last 10 minutes.

@Matroska i don't have a pro but can't you turn some of the things off that might cause that such as HDR
