Yes it's a newspaper for a source so don't believe it as much but all gaming Networks PSN, Live, Nin Net (my own name for it) etc could be under investigation because of fees and prices.
To be honest it states PSN for auto renewal or subscriptions which Sony offer to turn it off when you buy, but I have found it has switched to auto renewal for me even though I have chose to switch it off. Think the biggest argument will be the price for what your getting now since PS3 has been dropped, last few months since haven't been that good for some.
@Nakatomi_Uk There's no way I'm clicking on a Sun link being from Merseyside. But they are probably looking into the fact users are signing up blind and benefits have been stripped away.

Yeah the main issue from what I have read (on the BBC) is auto renewal and how easy it is to cancel.
I remember back in the 360 days that I signed up for a free 3 month gold offer then it auto renewed and it took a long time on the phone to get it ended and refunded.
They are basically saying it contravenes consumer rights because they make it mandatory and don’t have a clear cancellation process.

Yes, when I recently checked prior to renew with the 20% off offer from Argos I found out the auto renewal was back on. So I first turned it back off again and then renewed manually.
May have to do with the updates?

@Rudy_Manchego I ran into that as well, the biggest issue I had was getting to a real person, once I finally had a real person and told them how I was a broke college student(at the time) and had no money and little time to spend playing Xbox Live, they finally let me cancel. But I sat through a bunch of computer voice nonsense first...
