@mookysam i really enjoyed Lords of Shadow 2 and would love a LoS3 (well apart from that ONE stealth point before the Agreus boss fight, that can go burn in hell)
@KALofKRYPTON i really enjoyed Sonic Heroes, i thought the ability to switch characters during a level to open up new paths or to take care of certain enemies was a good thing
@Tasuki i edited the first post to ask people to keep it civil but i think it should be OK, most of the people an this site are pretty level headed

Gradius V, R-Type/2/Delta/Final, Einhander, Thunder Force IV, Shienryu Explosion, Ikaruga, Raiden 3, Dariusburst/Chronicle Saviours, DoDonPachi, Battle Garrega are all better than Radiant Silvergun.
Wrong crowd for that one huh? =D #controversial

I don't like The Last of Us, i thought it was boring and that the game play was stale (although on that second point i had just come off Uncharted 4)
@kyleforrester87 yeah i know some things said here might irk some people but the thread is here for people to put out their opinions that are considered unpopular because everyone has them and i'll be keeping an eye on the thread to try to keep it civil so please feel free to contribute and give us some of your "unpopular" gaming opinions

I'm looking forward to every other fps having a battle royal mode in the hope that the bubble bursts and that everyone stops wetting the bed over the bang-average likes of Fortnite and that someone, somewhere does an article about M.A.G. and how great it was but criminally overlooked.

@FullbringIchigo I dunno, most of my unpopular opinions are just as a result of ignorance I think, just like everyone else's. I hate Ubisoft openworld games but I've only ever played 3 and cleared none of them you know, so how can my opinion be valid haha. Anyway, I just got Assassins screed Origins so we'll see if that changes my mind
@kyleforrester87 not every unpopular opinion comes from ignorance, perhaps you just don't like something everyone else seems to love or perhaps you love something everyone else hates, we all have opinions that go against the masses

@FullbringIchigo Yeah I guess so, it's a tough concept to get your head around really. Like there is some absolute JUNK on TV, and it must be popular because they keep showing it, so am I wrong for thinking it's junk when it is blatantly absolute junk?! But at the same time I think not liking games like Zelda, Mario, Uncharted is all well and good but you have to take a step back and consider that your opinions might actually be wrong in some cases lol. For me, it's best not to reinforce my bad opinions by writing them down, because I might be putting up barriers to enjoying games that might actually be good in the future.
I've said elsewhere that I sadly don't enjoy Witcher 3 despite being a big RPG fan. On top of that I think a shorter crafted game is more fun than any open world game, AAA games are generally nowhere near as good as what the indie scene is producing, Fallout 3 isn't very good and Resi 4 did nothing new or worthwhile to the series.
Oh, and local multiplayer is the only multiplayer worth playing.
the thread will still be here if you decide to use it (hopefully)

I thought Rise of the Tomb Raider was a thoroughly average game and below the standards set in the previous game. I also think Bethesda open world games, like Fallout and Edler Scrolls are overrated. Not bad, just not as good as they get reviewed.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
They are essentially Pokemon Yellow (etc) but missing(!) features. Only the Original set of Pokemon to use in the game (PoGo transfers only work in a separte battle mode), same Kanto region but no random battles and no catching Pokemon in the wild.
This all feeds in to my general feelings against Nintendo. And how they handle the business model around Pokemon games. Two near identical games each release, both full priced retail titles, both coveted by fans (like my daughter) equally; rather than, buy one - here's a DLC top up for the other.
Let's Go now seeks to convert PoGo players to the fuller game experience with a remake of the first game, and again - released as two versions with the 'proper' Switch Pokemon game still due in 2019.
Having played a LOT of Ingress in the early days, I have many 'feelings' towards Pokemon Go!

@KratosMD personally i'm really intrigued by the changes so i'll be giving it a go

While I think competition is good I feel the Nintendo should leave the console market and become a third party publisher like Sega. They are out of touch with gamers nowadays relying on gimmicks to carry them through.
I believe the Golden age of gaming was the 16bit era and nothing will top that as the best era for gaming.
RetiredPush Square Moderator and all around retro gamer.
Hmm. Now, I don't think these games suck (I actually quite like DKC2), but I do agree that they can't stand with the best 16-bit platformers and are outclassed in every way, shape, and form by Retro's DKC games.

@KratosMD Do you not think that literally rehashing the first game, removing features is a lack of evolution? Especially since in place of what has been removed is a simplified gesture capture mechanic designed to sell a peripheral? That's not evolution. What next then? A Gold & Silver remake to add the extra 100 for the Let's Go crowd?
I say all this not as a player; everyone I know who does love the Pokemon games, will continue to buy, no matter what, including the let's Go games and whatever comes along next year. It's cynical and it's gross and as exploitative of a dedicated fan base as any pay to win loot crate nonsense.

@Tasuki Yeah. in a very drunk conversation many years ago - a friend of mine likened the advent of 3D gaming to us all 'becoming navigators' rather than gamers. In a way, I agree.
