@Mega-Gazz: I remember reading that, but unsure if it was a fleeting jump. Anyway here's some stats I picked up;
Sony - $34.1 billion market cap. $67.89 billion sales.
Nintendo - $21.7 billion market cap. $4.4 billion sales.
Based on the information I garnered, Sony has almost four times as many employees. Sony is a top 200 international business, Nintendo top 2000.

@themcnoisy: That doesn't surprise me, you have to remember Sony isn't just a game company like Nintendo, they have their fingers in alot of pies, from Electronics like TVS, Playstations, MP3 players, to things like Movie studios, muscle studios, to digital services like PS Now and Vue, so yeah of course they would have more employees and money then Nintendo.
Also if they were to buy Nintendo, who knows if they would keep Nintendo around. They could just close it and add their I.P.s to their portfolio. Like Konami did with Hudson for example.

The value of both companies go up and down but Nintendo is often worth more than Sony, and ALWAYS worth more than the Playstation division. If anything it would be the other way around.
