Dual analogues is the deal breaker for me. I remember trying in vain to get fluid aiming on Resistance Retribution using those buttons and failing lol The 3G/GPRS is a good inclusion too. Be able to jump online without needing WiFi Looking good so far. Cant wait to see what games are going to be released. Either way I aint buying a 3DS or anythin so Ill probably pick on of these up when released. Kinda miss my old PSP a little....
It pretty much looks like the perfect portable to me. With games like Uncharted, COD and Wipeout already confirmed + Trophies this could be my next big gaming purchase. That is unless the 3D on the 3DS is so mind-blowingly good that I can not resist. At the moment though I definately favour Sony's NGP. Plus I like the PSP more than the DS, so it stands to reason that I should wait for the NGP.
I'm totally skipping the 3DS for this baby. So amazing
The one thing that concerns me is the 3G part... And then of course the battery life. Sure, I could play it on the go and online with the 3G, but how long would it last before it died? And hour?
Do want. If at all possible, I'd like to get both this and the 3DS, because while I love "hardcore" games such as Call of Duty, Uncharted, etc., I'm also a pretty big Nintendo fan.
One thing I am curious about, though (aside from the price), is whether or not it will be backwards compatible with old PSP game downloads via PSN. I still have several games on my account from my last PSP and it would be great to have something to play right out of the box.
I'll be buying this as well as 3DS this year. OMG 2011 is already pushing into the EPIC proportions for Sony and gaming in general, and it's still January!
@zez.... battery life for NGP is ranged at between 4-8 hours, depends on what is being utilized on the system. So no worries with battery life either.
Gamestop is covering their butts with preorders with a price of $999.99 Lol, BUT there are predictions that the asking price will be between $250-$400, and after the slow sales that Sony saw with PSP, PS3 and PSPGo, I don't expect an extremely high price tag this time around. I could be wrong, but I think $400 the max that it will cost.
I dont like buying portable consoles that dont have pokemon on them because honestly pokemon is the only game I play on the go. Id rather be in front of my tv to play uncharted though if they offer cross platform with ps3 I might be sold.
The console for the most part looks good. The console is very powerful and I can see it having a great line-up or at least a better one then the PSP. I'll consider getting it depending on the overall line-up and the price.
The one thing that does worry me is the price. Sony did say that it would be affordable, but considering that this is PS3 technology, I'm worried that it could top $400-450 easy, which isn't exactly going to attract many people. It needs to be at least $300 if they expect the console to compete with the Nintendo 3DS in sales this time around. Which if that's the case, we can expect a huge battle between the two consoles with no definitive lead for a few years. Just like the SNES and Sega Genesis.
