A place to talk about games that deserve way more love than they get.
I hope this place becomes even the most tiny bit active because not all of us wanna play big budget well known AAA games all the time (this isn't me saying "Ahem, big games suck. why isn't the obscure platforming mascot from 1987 called Scrimblo Bimblo in super smash bros?" I just like playing smaller games every now and then).
I'll start
Angry Birds Seasons
This game is Angry Birds but themed to different holidays like Christmas, Halloween and Easter. Literally every holiday is represented with my favourite part of the game, Pig Days. This includes loads of days like Talk like a Pirate day, Preservation of the Ozone Layer day and Milk day. It's really fun and creative and I highly recommend it... is what I would be saying if you could play it because it got unlisted a while ago. I'm able to play it because I owned it when it was on the store.
I’ve played a few games this year which I would consider underrated. I spoke about it a lot while I was playing it… Remnant from the Ashes is the most fun I’ve had in co-op. It’s great in single player too but in co-op it is phenomenal. Great looter-shooter gameplay, good bosses (some great) and randomly generated environments so lots of replay ability.
I also played a couple of Ubisoft games which I really enjoyed also… but received little fanfare. Assassins Creed: Unity and Watch Dogs 2. Both were very playable, ACU was jaw-droppings beautiful and WD2 was surprisingly innovative for a sandbox GTA-like.
I think everybody who's into challenging games should play Ghostrunner! It's getting a PS5 upgrade in September, I believe.
I mean, it got good reviews, so "underrated" is probably not the best word, but I feel like not a lot of people played it - which is understandable, it being a smaller game from a young Polish studio.
The Pedestrian is a game I’d praise all day if I could. A few of us on here have played it now but honestly as many people as possible should give it a go!
@colonelkilgore yeah I played it via PS Plus and I actually dropped it after a few sessions. Returned back to it a few months ago and it still holds up well. The combat is a wonderful mix of action and turn based. Decent enough story too.
Obligatory plug for The Order: 1886, a game i think has been criminally underrated over the years. Others of mention — Valkyria Chronicles and Valkyria Chronicles 4, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Oh, and also Vanquish and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Those are ones that come to mind.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@colonelkilgore Seriously though - you should try it. It’s a short game, which was probably its biggest fault back in the day but might be a good thing for you now
@Th3solution okidoki, maybe I’ll pull a double plat Wednesday sometime… The Order: 1886 and Astrobot. Could help with what I imagine will be severe platinum-withdrawals during my plentiful MGS4 playthroughs 🤣
@colonelkilgore Yes, good idea. In fact, as proficient as you are with platinums, you could platinum The Order, Astrobot, and A Plague’s Tale all in a week, maybe two. (About 6 hr, 8 hr, and 12 hr respectively). And all fantastic in their own right.

@Th3solution hmm… 2x Plagues Tale as well what with PS4 and PS5.
So, after mulling it over I think I’m gonna hold these easy-breezy plats for when I’m playing what are supposedly some of the most difficult plats to achieve (MGS4, Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus, Devil May Cry 5, The Evil Within etc.). That way, if I fail… which Seems a distinct possibility… I’ll pop an easy-breezy just to maintain continuity. Don’t think I’ll ever go for any My Name is Mayo-esque plats though… but no judgement for those who do.
