Needs to take the leap of faith on its own premise
The multiplayer shooter genre has been in an odd flux these last few years. Call of Duty just isn’t quite what it used to be, Battlefield 2042 missed the mark somewhat, and even Apex Legends has dipped in interest as it cruises into its 21st season of content. This is where a crop of new kids on...

XDefiant to the end
Ubisoft's free-to-play shooter XDefiant is not dead, and you shouldn't think it is. That's despite persistent rumours of a worryingly small pool of players and CEO Yves Guillemot himself admitting to investors that it had underperformed "to a much lesser extent [than Star Wars Outlaws]", which pro

Just three months after launch
With all the focus being placed on Concord recently — and its increasingly apparent failings — you'd be forgiven for forgetting about XDefiant, the Ubisoft shooter that launched on PS5 back in May. The live service title was met with decent reviews and actually seemed to be doing really well for itself at first,...

News Free PS5 FPS XDefiant Reloads with Tons of Content for Season 1
Under siege
XDefiant, ridiculed upon its original reveal, appears here to stay: it’s currently one of the most popular games on PS5, and with French publisher Ubisoft behind it, you just know it’s going to grow and grow for years to come. Case in point: the title’s first season, set to release on 2nd July, is bringing an absolute ton of new...

XDefied
It's incredibly easy to be cynical when it comes to new live service titles. So many of them seem to appear and then disappear in the blink of an eye, but contrary to many a pre-launch prediction, Ubisoft's recently released XDefiant is actually posting decent player numbers. According to Insider Gaming — who consistently get the scoop on...

Defy this
First announced back in 2021, XDefiant now has a confirmed release date on PS5. Delve into the "Ubi-Verse"
Ubisoft’s latest bid in the live service space comes in the form of XDefiant, a free-to-play first-person arena shooter.
