How to Catch All Bugsnax in Boiling Bay
Here's a list of every Bugsnak in Boiling Bay and how to catch them.
Flamin' Cheepoof
Description: Much like the Cheepoofs of the desert except that they are constantly on fire.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: One of the trickiest Bugsnax to catch, believe it or not. Located inside a lava-filled cave, the first thing you need to do is knock it out of the air with the Trip Shot. Set it up so the wire intersects with a Flamin' Cheepoof's flight path. You want it to land on the ground rather than in the lava. However, before you do this, you should lure over an icy Bugsnak, such as a Paletoss Grande.
So, bring the Flamin' Cheepoof down using the Trip Shot, then have the icy Bugsnak run into it to put out its flames. Once it's cooled off, you can capture it in your net.
Fruity Snakpod
Description: Hidden around the Boiling Bay. Is this made of other dried snax?
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Snakpods are easy to catch. They don't move, so once you find one, just approach it and pick it up with Square. If you can't reach it, use the Snak Grappler to snag it.
Golden Kweeble
Loves: Chocolate
Description: Exactly like a Kweeble but with a distinctly golden sheen.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Set your Snak Trap nearby. Use chocolate to lure the Golden Kweeble into the trap, then activate it.
Grapeskeeto
Loves: Chocolate
Description: Another snak-eating pest. Though this one seems more solitary.
Time Active: 4pm to 4am
How to Catch: Cover another Bugsnak in chocolate. After the Grapeskeeto feeds, it'll be dizzy, and you can catch it in your net.
Greater Cocomite
Loves: Chocolate
Description: Works with its Lesser to tackle any threats.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: To find Greater and Lesser Cocomites, you need to find the palm tree they hang from. Use the Snak Grappler to shake the tree, then pick up the Cocomite and throw it to break it into the two Bugsnax.
To catch the Greater Cocomite, you need to use the Trip Shot. Set up the trip wire, then use chocolate to lure it over. When it's dizzy, catch it with your net.
Green Crapple
Loves: Chocolate, Peanut Butter
Description: Prefers to stay underwater, but will surface to pick up things that catch its eye.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Use the Sauce Slinger to place some chocolate or peanut butter nearby a Green Crapple. Place the Snak Trap next to it. When it scuttles over, activate the trap.
La Sodieux
Hates: Fire, Hot Sauce, Cheese, Chocolate
Description: This bug skims along the ocean floor, and sprays water at nearby sauce.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: You need to lure a La Sodieux out of the sea with a sauce. With your Snak Trap ready, bring the Bugsnak onto dry land and activate your trap when it's inside.
Lesser Cocomite
Loves: Chocolate
Description: Works with its Greater to tackle any threats.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: To find Greater and Lesser Cocomites, you need to find the palm tree they hang from. Use the Snak Grappler to shake the tree, then pick up the Cocomite and throw it to break it into the two Bugsnax.
To catch the Lesser Cocomite, you can use the Snak Trap. Set up the trap, then use chocolate to lure it over. Activate the trap when it's inside the radius.
Megamaki (Legendary)
Description: The head of the beast. It can't be caught until it's run out of followers.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Megamaki is a Legendary Bugsnax. For more on how to best these special Bugsnax, see our guide: Bugsnax: How to Defeat All Legendary Bugsnax.
Minimaki
Description: They follow behind the head in perfect formation, and panic without its leadership.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Minimaki can only be found and caught during the encounter with Megamaki — see above.
Noodler
Loves: Hot Sauce, Cheese
Description: Bathes in pools of lava. It can't be put out while in such a hot climate.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Noodlers are located in the lava cave. It's impossible to catch one while it's on fire. To cool it off, you need to lead it to a cold Paletoss. Use hot sauce to draw it out of the water, and lead it to a Paletoss. When the two collide, the Noodler will be dizzy, and you can catch it in your net.
Paletoss
Description: Half the snak it used to be, though it hasn't lost its cold fury.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: To find a Paletoss, you need to split a Paletoss Grande in half. This is done by making it hot with either a Noodler or being led into water. Let the timer count down to zero, and it will split into two Paletoss. For a few seconds they will stagger around, and you can capture them with your net.
Paletoss Grande
Description: Freezes anything it charges at. That might be useful against all these spicy Bugsnax...
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: One of the trickier Bugsnax to capture, it requires a little setup. Locate your Paletoss Grande, and find a way to make it hot. You can do this by either luring it into the sea (it'll follow you), some lava, or you can coat it with hot sauce to attract a Noodler. Before you do this, set a trip wire for the Paletoss Grande to run into after it's made hot. This will stun it, and you can capture it.
Red Banopper
Loves: Chocolate, Peanut Butter
Description: Jumps from tree to tree. The Trip Shot could be useful here. Also, it is red.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Equip your Trip Shot. Identify the trees the Red Banopper is hopping between. Set up the trip wire so it crosses between two of the trees. When the Bugsnak hits the wire, it'll be stunned and fall down, allowing you to grab it.
Sherbie
Hates: Chocolate
Description: It drills beneath the sand, waiting to unleash frosty vengeance on its foes.
Time Active: All day
How to Catch: Use chocolate to lure the Sherbie into the flowing lava nearby its normal route. This will set it on fire, but after a few seconds it will become stunned. During this brief moment, you can capture it in your net.
