Draconic Tree Sentinel: Boss Fight Strategy
The strategy for beating Draconic Tree Sentinel remains much the same as the encounter at the start of the game: treat it like a jousting match where you ready up for one or two attacks aboard Torrent and then retreat again. Rinse and then repeat. However, this time around you need to be on the lookout for a few extra attacks.
When the boss' health reaches roughly 50 per cent, it will charge its huge shield up with lightning. This grants it access to its most powerful attack. Occasionally, it will lift its shield into the air and bring down multiple strikes of lightning wherever you stand. It's not too difficult to avoid these if you roll out of the way, but it's much harder avoiding them whilst riding Torrent. The boss only really uses the attack when you're far away, so if you stick close by, you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.
This lightning power-up, however, also carries over into its axe. Whenever it slams the ground, the nearby area will also be covered in red lightning. This means you need to stay well out of the way of any of its attacks, only dealing damage yourself when you're sure you'll be able to get out of the way. If you can summon any Ashes like Lone Wolf Ashes, then they'll be helpful here.
Perhaps the biggest problem you can encounter in this fight is simply not dealing enough damage and thus making the fight last much longer. This means you're more likely to die at some point. As such, make sure you've upgraded the weapon you're using as much as you can. That way, the boss battle will be over much sooner.
