Reign of Pain is a Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16's DLC expansion, The Rising Tide. It first appears after you finish The Rising Tide's main quest. As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to explain everything you need to know about Reign of Pain.

Village healer Fanet believes that Talor's curse may have been woven by a tonberry king, to whom the suffering soul is yet bound by beastman magick. She begs Clive to seek the creature out and end its reign once and for all. |
Reign of Pain: Walkthrough
Reign of Pain begins when you speak to Fanet. She'll ask Clive to take care of a tonberry king.
Head out of the south gate towards the marked area. Fend off the tonberries. When the group's down, watch the cutscene, then head south into the marked area. There will be more tonberries to fight along the path.
You'll fight a particularly large batch of them, then Clive will spot a cave. Go inside and you'll find the tonberry king — defeat him.
Once he's toast, return to Haven and speak to Fanet to end the quest.
Objective Log
- Make for the Cloak
- Defeat the tonberries
- Search for the tonberry king on the Cloak
- Slay the tonberry king
- Report back to Fanet in Mysidia
