I honestly don't like these designs. I get it — I like PSone-esque designs as much as the next guy. But the PS5 looks modern and sleek as is; the grey doesn't work with it. Same goes for the Dualsense, although the novelty works a lot better for an input device rather than a stationary console.

I'll try for the regular Pro. Kind of scared at how much the 30th Anniversary bundle costs considering it comes with two controllers.

Beyond that, scalpers work in groups to secure all inventory. The bot nets work for their collective benefit, and they have the address for delivery split up among them. That's also how organized theft rings work when buying inventory including things like this on stolen credit cards. The merch is delivered to various locations and resold organizationally.

Plus PSN accounts just need an address and email. The bots can open a few tens if thousands of them in a few minutes. And the probably still have them from PS5 launch anyway.

Someone has not been doing their due diligence for the Tojo Clan I see....

I suspect at this point a price drop would be after the ps6 is out or just before. And the drop will be back to the launch price. I'm seriously tempted with the Pro 30th bundle, unless it's much over a bag. I'm not arsed about the DualSense Edge or charging dock, although I'm sure all will be packaged in such a way as to be obvious if missing.
I'm 99% sure those who are after a Pro to use have a PS5 already or have been dragging the life out of their PS4 (Pro, as one of my friends has been doing) in anticipation of it so why don't Sony start with registering your interest via a console, sending an email with a priority link to buy?
Not sure if that makes sense (only been awake an hour) but preregistered interest in a preorder from confirmed preexisting members of the community would surely go someway to keeping the scalpers at bay?
It is inevitable that some people will buy to flip, some might even genuinely want one then change their mind and resort to resale, but I can see ebay being crammed with 30th anniversary items and PS5 Pro's at >double MSRP. And people will buy them.

In the theft version of the game they send to the legit address of the stolen cc holder and then have the carrier change the delivery address if it's not, like Sony, signature required. Or actually wait or have an associate wait at the right address to swipe it.

It's amazing what criminals and sleazy people. Sell a $1k pro bundle for $1600 give the delivery crony 100 to do nothing....

Queue is paused for me personally. I was in there at 6am and the queue wasn't there at all, all of a sudden the page popped up and it was paused, unsure how people got there before me but there you go.

As always it's a bit of a mess. The only ray of hope we have is that people already with a spot in the queue baulk at the price when they get there and leave, but, most of the queue is probably bots anyway.

@NEOTDS Ah, don't feel deflated mate - if you are just after non anniversary stuff they will have high stocks and you should get to order it this morning.
Getting an anniversary one was always going to be really difficult and even though I wanted one, I'd have probably had a kitten when I saw the price - £1200? Maybe. As long as I can order a pro, I'm happy enough. Even if I cant get one from Sony, its available from amazon in a couple of weeks, so we will get what we want.
I would have preferred it if you could pre register your interest and have a more organised approach to this kind of process, but it happens every time, and with other popular items too, so I'm gonna take a deep breath, wait my turn and see what I can do.

Stuck in a "temporary" waiting room in a queue that's been paused for an hour. I ain't getting a Pro.

@JustX I gave up refreshing the PS Direct site around 2am, and when I woke up and checked again at 8:20am the waiting room screen was there to greet me.

i was refreshing up until just after 8am then when to get ready for work and at 8.24 i was in the waiting room

I'd echo the sentiments of some others in the comments - we're all here for the Pro as we're mad PlayStation enthusiasts, and Sony will be conjuring up FOMO and hype with today's limited stock queue system. If you don't manage to get a Pro today, do not fret! There will be more stock in the coming weeks and months, and you will be able to get one. Do not feed the scalpers and opportunists by buying one on the after market!

Some people here did not had to wait at all, they posted pictures before 10 am and had one within 2 minutes after 10.

The bulk of consumers are not on any of these sites and don't care for the manufactured gripes we see daily.
The same happened with the portal - it was attacked and laughed at by the same people, and went on to be one of the best sellers of the year (and a dam fine piece of kit too).
There are lots of people want this machine despite the bleating of those who are always trying to manufacture a disaster - you need to filter them out.

If you're interested in purchasing the new console at launch, then PS5 Pro pre-orders will go live on September 26, exclusively on the PlayStation Direct website. The console will be available to pre-order from additional retailers on October 10, before launching in full on November 7.

Nabbed myself a dualsense through Amazon at 10:11, took a few refreshes before it showed ‘one purchase option available’

@carlos82 Get some cheap ones in white from AE etc. Purchase some acrylic spray paint as close to #ADADAD as possible (something like Pantone 429 or RAL 000 70 00). Few coats and you're sorted. Can even get a multi coloured PS sticker from the aforementioned Chinese website.

The yellow loading bar is at least giving some indication we're moving.

I thought I had an anniversary one as it allowed me to add it to the cart but then wouldn't allow me to pay. I deleted that and ordered a regular pro, and that did say it had gone through and I'd get Emails etc. Howver, no emails yet and there's nothing showing on paypal...

Managed to get one.

I think I messed up and missed my change to snag an anniversary one. It let me add it and choose payment method, but then wouldnt let me place the order (was greyed out).
I quickly changed to a standard pro and it looked like it was doing the same thing, but then I clicked and confirmed the address, which meant it went through. If I had done that with the pro it would have gone through - drat!
I was in a panic that it wouldn't let me buy it and thought I might miss out on the pro... I guess I saved some money

We can also preorder the PS5 Pro and the PS5 Slim 30th anniversary but apparently the PS5 Pro 30th anniversary won't come here. I won't preorder the Pro yet, nor will I buy the Slim just for the plates. I really hope that Sony will release the unnumbered plates at some point in time because I really don't understand what is the point of a modular system if not providing your userbase with additional plates.

I got in at 10:15 and the 30th Pro bundle was already "currently unavailable". A shame because, as others have said, I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Nonetheless, feeling fortunate that I grabbed a regular Pro and 30th DualSense. I did receive confirmation emails, too; instantly. I also payed with PayPal and only received a notification for £24.99 which, I presume, is for the vertical stand I also ordered and that isn't a preorder.

I can understand the consoles but come on why gatekeep something as a controller. And I do also agree just sell the plates for the fans who have less cash to spend. Managed to pick up the Dualsense controller - Which was the goal to be honest. Slim was sold out anyway was in the queue at 10:03 and got in at 11:15. So I'm happy!

What a stress, managed to get into the first queue at 8.10am this morning on 3 different browsers, it definitely is a lottery as to position as on 2 of the browers I had a wait time of 5 minutes once the second queue opened and on the third browser a time of over an hour! (I'm in the UK)

I managed to snag the 30th anniversary edition pro bundle and for the price I am absolutely delighted, I will not be selling it on Ebay and plan on using it 😀

@CrashBandicoat Not that much to be honest. If you have the original launch it can go for quite a bit more than revisions because of its modding capabilities, but I've never been interested in selling personally.

The real money is in rare boxed games for these systems. I've got some neo geo stuff that's easily worth hundreds.

It wasn't my intention to go for it, but when I saw that price it surprised me and won me round, so I clicked to buy it, but it was gone. As I'm on the site and got a place, I'm going to refresh on the PS5 anniversary pro a few times today, just in case people cancel orders and it reappears, if you've got a tab open, maybe try the same.

And yes, Regular Pro still available for people, the rush was definitely for the anniversary stuff, but if you want one, get it ordered, just in case.

Got two Dualsenses, first queue took about 35mins, the second to less than a minute. Apart from the PRO Bundle, everything else was available to add to cart. As per with Sony, it was a smooth process

Managed to get the PS5 Pro standard about 10 mins ago and just waiting for my confirmation email. The Standard PS5 Pro is selling a little slower than I expected although I can't imagine there will be much stock left beyond this afternoon. The best part is they don't take payment until they ship, so almost anyone can pre order and just save up.

And using an anniversary addition knowing it won't lose value is kind of neat, whereas the pro is just the pro, forever. People will always envy your anniversary one

Since we didn't get any PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary I've sat down to contemplate on this whole situation and went with the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary edition which we fortunately got for preorder.

My old but like new PS5 will be a Christmas present for my nieces and the PS5 Slim will be my main console. If the plates from the PS5 Slim fit on a PS5 Pro than maybe I'll upgrade sometime in the future and switch the plates.

Again, is it expensive? Yes it is, but I was set on this and I'll also make some children happy so we all win.

I somehow preorderd the normal PS5Pro which i wanted. I was in the first batch (Belgium), but up to three times the payment didn't went through. Until i linked Paypal to my account and 2 hours after the initial launch!!! i could order a PS5Pro and got a confirmation mail from Sony in my inbox. A couple moments later the site says currently not available... In Belgium (EU i guess) you can only order the Edge controller and Portal for the moment.

Well. That was worse than expected. The only thing I wanted was a regular 30th DualSense, ah well, in 6 months they'll be on ebay as spares/repairs due to stick drift!
After that utter shambles I shall ensure anything PlayStation I buy in the future is from a (respectable) 3rd party retailer, because Sony can jog-the-feck-on if they think I'm gonna pad their coffers anymore than is absolutely necessary.

WE DID IT LADS, Pro 30th Secured. Whew.

I've been on the PS Direct site in the US for going on 9.5 hours. I was through and my "spot in line was secured" then the site refreshed and kicked me in to the waiting room where is said "the line is paused". 10 minutes after the sale was supposed to happen, my waiting room message changed to "Your estimated wait time is: more than an hour" and hasn't changed for nearly 15 more minutes. This is maddening.

US is bonkers. Over an hour just in the waiting room. Controller already sold out on Amazon.

Edit: able to get a 30th Dualsense Edge, which is what I was (realistically) hoping for, aside from the Pro 30th.

The pro bundle was already sold out when my turn in the US queue came up. That was ~ 10:25 AM (ET). I was really hoping to match the color scheme of my PSVR2 which is already PlayStation gray thanks to the layer of dust that has settled on it.

Managed to get myself a standard Pro this morning, thought I'd check the direct website again when I got home and saw that the 30th edition portals were still available, so bagged one of those aswell.
Both pads are OOS, but standard Pros and 30th ed Portals are in stock (UK at least )
